  1. I don't think this whole drifting thing is ever going to catch on anyway.
  2. There is a Gazelle that races at Hidden Valley and EVERYONE seems to think it's an AE86 when they first see it. :D Has anyone seen anything else weird in Panda?
  3. The 2JZ-GTE conversion would be interesting, though I wouldn't have thought that it would fit. I know that the reason the guy doing Toystar chose the Caddy V8 was because it was available with the FWD transmission, so all he (basically) had to do was squeeze it into the MR2. One option might be to use the 3.3L V6 from the Toyota Kluger. It's not that powerful, but I think it's positioned tranversely, which works for an MR vehicle. Or you could be boring and use the Camry V6.
  4. Now someone needs to invest HUGE amounts of money in doing a pure Toyota version. AW11 + 1UZ-FE/3UZ-FE = Awesome!!!
  5. 400-450kg???? Doesn't that seem pretty heavy to anyone? Surely an all-alloy 4-cylinder motor of some kind (eg. SR20) would have been a better bet as it would have been much lighter, and if an SR20, much more powerful. Hell, doesn't a 1UZ-FE weigh about 400-450kg?
  6. Yeah that was the one. What sort of motor was it using, do you know? Whatever it was, it was COOL!!!
  7. Bugger. My server won't let me upload the file. But it's a really cool video, I promise. Maybe one day my computer will let me let you all see it.
  8. Check out this cool video I got sent of Mini specially setup for motorkhana's. Don't ask me what it's got, because as much as I'd love to know, I don't. Mini Video (2Mb)
  9. A lot of you will probably have already heard of or visited this site, but I thought I'd give it a mention anyway. It's about Toystar, a Mark 1 (AW11) MR2 with a 4.6L Cadillac Northstar V8 being dropped in. Don't ask me at what point it went from just having a V8 dropped in, to having a turbo'd V8 being dropped in, just enjoy the madness. The address is: www.v8mr2.com
  10. Of course, it is also fairly easy to lose the back end of them [hangs head in shame].
  11. Mmm, current (for now) model 2.7L Hilux. Drifty, drifty goodness. It is soooo easy to get the tail hanging out on them. If only I owned one instead of doing it in the work utes...
  12. Okay all you Darwin-based guys. I want to try and get an idea of about how many hot Rollas there are getting around Darwin. Below are the ones I can think of. Please add to the list if you have seen any. Ideally we want to try and get the word out about rollaclub.com so the Darwin group can grow. Lola - My yellow KE55 with 4AGZE (not registered) White AE82 Seca - bonnet scoop & 20 valve stickers/badges There is also meant to be an AE92 getting around with an AE111 4AGZE & 6-speed tranny. Nothing that different, except this one supposedly has a T04 turbo as well.
  13. Yeah, I know. I'm just jealous that I didn't think of all 331 rules for being an overlord.
  14. Obviously Peter has way, way, way too much time on his hands. Thank goodness he does, though, because that Overlord list was funny as hell!
  15. You forgot to come and say hello!!!
  16. :D Suck eggs Easter Bunny :)
  17. Anyone interested?
  18. Now that's the kind of thinking I like. Cheapness rocks! Plus, if I do the S13 conversion, I would think that there'd be plenty of brake & suspension upgrade options for later down the track.
  19. Thanks for your reply demuire. Now I can start looking into prices
  20. GT4 Rocks!!! I haven't had as much time to play it as I would have liked, but so far I haven't spent a cent in the game, have 13 cars, and have won about 35 races. I'm only up to about 80,000 credits so far, but as I say, I haven't spent a cent. But then, there's no need when you can use the Cadillac Cien, Honda Dualnote, and Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car.
  21. Thanks for your help guys. I checked out Toymods, and they seem to have some handy tech articles (eg. Hilux Diff Conversions), but I don't think I'd bother joining for the above mentioned reasons.
  22. Thanks, that worked for Toymods, but Rollaboyz is still not available. Of course, one less Fast & Furious site probably won't hurt.
  23. I was under the assumption that all Toyota transmissions had markings on them indicating exactly which transmission it is (eg. T40, T50, W58, etc). This was just an assumption, I haven't really had much chance to check any transmissions out (I'm only a first year apprentice, I don't touch cars, I mop).
  24. Anyone know what's happened to either of these sites. I can't seem to access them. I've tried variations on the addresses (eg. with or without .au). Perhaps Rollaclub will take over as the primary club for Toyota/Corolla owners?
  25. Took Lola racing on Sunday. I'm thinking she only has a standard 5-speed box, DEFINITELY not a Supra one. She was only doing about 160km/h max, well before the end of the straight. Which transmissions were used in the KE55 (eg. K40, K50, T40, T50, etc)? Does anyone know the factory ratios (diff as well as transmission)?
