  1. hi all, i wanna know how to display the pics in the thread instead of posting a link to the photo. cheers
  2. hey mate, i was talkin bout my car with my tafe lecturer the other week and how a rotary could be a good choice for it. but he very quickly and harshly put me back in my box sayin that they are just no good. having 3 continuous loaded chambers one after the other is what just drinks the fuel. if i were you i would stick with the corollas as they are more reliable and cheaper to run as mentioned earlier. all the RX-8's these days are going thru bout 12.9L to the 100km a 1995 mazda rx7 does about 9.1L to the 100km on the highway hope this helps u out a bit.....
  3. hey mate can't wait to see what you do to ur car. I'm really starting to get interested in and likin the Ke70's so i will b keepin an eye on ur thread good luck with it all
  4. i got a gregorys 1978-1981 corolla manual from repco a little while back, bout $70 or so. u should be able to get one from a car parts retailer or somethin like that.
  5. yeah well i was thinking that but i would prefer it to be turning on and off when desired, as stated earlier in thread it may take a lil longer 4 engine 2 warm up and possibly drain power. the noise may also get annoyin when idling. as for the weber, it would be really helpful to kno what jets u r running. as i have no bloody idea what to put in mine! its good to kno that the 32/36 makes a bit if a difference though, do u have a nice induction sound to go along with it? lol oh and does anyone know/reccomend which of the switches in the tridon switch catalogue would best suit me? help with this would be awesome!!
  6. when in doubt use a hammer lol
  7. u can get these bolts with ball tips on the end, they clip onto the lifter have u got these or a different set up? if u have i would jus drill a hole into the side of the quarter panel and put them in there....
  8. where the black and the green meet in this photo, i was planning on doing a white pinstripe on my green. but i pulled out because i have no idea if it would look good or not. it isnt a major colour difference but small things can make big differences, in the photos u quickly whipped up i liked the "gold" going over the top of the car
  9. hey car looks hell tough on those wheels!! i don't mind the colour either, looks allright... dunno y someone would paint over the chrome tail light surrounds and the side vents though :lolcry:
  10. snapped head bolt? how u do that?? the best thing to get a snapped bolt out with is a screw extractor!!!! get one
  11. hey bit of bugger that, hope all goes well with the insurance etc. can i ask how u hit the beamer? cause they're both front end damage....
  12. hey mate thanks. but i was jus thinkin of running a tube from the PCV to the inlet manifold, that way i can't get done for anythin stupid bout dangerous gases etc, then i was jus gonna chuck a oil breather on that bit where the tube comes from the air filter assembly... easy and cheap i think
  13. if you do decide to supercharge it, please don't make it sound like this... lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNtg9R4Ngio
  14. mmm take Jips advice, i kno it hurts lol :hmm:
  15. Pros: would have to say love the look and shape of the Ke55's and Ke30's, easy engine to work with cause of all the open space. Cons: Unfortunately needs alot of modifications to get some real tough power out of it, and also that mine doesnt do keybangers :hmm: but overall they are a great lil car for jus running around in, or even to have as a first project car..... like mine
  16. The DB King - even though thats sounds easy and all that i would prefer to stay legal. cause if i get defected for it i don't wanna go back to normal set up and have oil n shit comin up thru my good carby. hey cheers, so ur sayin run pipe from breather - catch can and then jus have a breather on catch can.... what bout second outlet on can?
  17. ok so today i also transferred the washer jets to the bonnet. firstly i got some Subaru Forester jets and piping from somewhere else, hooked all the piping up to mark out where i was going to put the jets was kind of hard knowing where the water was gonna hit the windscreen, so: - i got out possibly the best tool for something like this, its string coverd in blue chalk, tighten it across bonnet, pull up and let go, there is ur line http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0787.jpg - i marked out with it the centre of the bonnet, a line going across bonnet of the top and bottom of flutes so i could get the middle http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0786.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0785.jpg - then i lined up the jet with the grill bit right infront of the windscreen and went 10 bars from the inside to the outside of the car and made a mark http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0788.jpg - once i had done that, i made a template in acrylic of the shape and size of the hole needed to hold and secure the jets. (ripped hole in middle of newspaper to paint through, it stopped overspray) http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0792.jpg - i put this template over the mark i made where the jets r goin to go then painted it red, then outlined paint with felt tip pen for more distinctive shape http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0790.jpg - then i drilled a small hole in middle of red spot, then a bigger hole and eventually filed it out to the edge of felt tip pen (pics of finished product soon) hope this helps some people (measurements i made were for Subaru Forester jets and a 1979 Ke55 Sedan, measurements may vary depending on model)
  18. hey i have a older thread bout oil coming up thru the carby and i have very recently bought a 32/36 weber in replacement of the stock carby. before i put the weber on i want to fix this oil problem so i don't ruin it. so i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to hooky up a catch can properly etc etc  (will most likely buy an eBay catch can but dunno yet) all help appreciated lol oil/air separator? pcv - catch can - inlet manifold?? pcv - catch can - breather?? pcv - catch can - atmosphere?? breather on catch can?? please help
  19. TE278U - bloody nice looking wagon u got!! wheels really set it off. (bit jealous that ur car does keybangers though) pissed that my Ke55 sedan wont do them, jus want a reason to get a new exhaust haha
  20. jus thought i would put up a quick update of a few things done to the corolla. have bolted in a new thermo fan for it and taken off old one, still to do all the proper wiring though. Car is now in full primer and waiting to go and get painted, even all the boot is primed along with bonnet lid, boot lid and inside of doors  here are some pics: http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0780.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0781.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0782.jpg
  21. goin back a while ago.... lol. have only just decided to fix this oil problem and was wondering if people could post up some pics of their catch cans. jus so i get an idea of whether i should by a nice good lookin one, or jus make one myself :lolcry: . oh and also jus to see how u properly hook them up haha (have seen some on eBay with more then 1 outlet, so jus wondering where else it connects to lol)
  22. thanks for all that info styler, now i have taken into consideration all the risks etc. what setup would you reccomend me to have on my 4K-C? and of all those switches, which is the one to get? lol jus got 3 questions bout this weber carby: will it give out a bit more power? will it drink fuel much more? will it make any kind of noise? (sucking etc lol)
  23. hmmm sounds like me lol i rekon this is the go for me, hook up to switch and relay. I'm no electrics buff so easy is the go lol
  24. i was thinkin this as i have a non used switch in dash, and its also very easy can i hook up a LED light so that when the LED comes on i will have to turn the thermo on??
  25. lol must have missed that bit, thanks mate
