i don't like bolt ons etc because it limits suspension travel unless you run insane stretch... will be running 15 x 8.5-9.9 rims with a minimum of a 225/50 so need travel most of my work takes place out of sight inside the wheel arch you will definitely know the guards are flared when it's finished though as you can see in pics diff is hard on the chassis rails meaning full suspension travel.. only place to set your flares from IMO try to retain as much of the factory look to attract less attention although the rims will probably attract plenty will be adding a lip around the arch ( about 1 inch to give the affect of the car being lower than it actually is i did these ages ago and the owner fitted 15 x10 -6 superlights with 205/50 under them made these on car adjustable panhard rods and trailing arms for same car inside the wheel wells ....gain an inch without any visibility on the out side

fixed today yeaaaaay clearance is minty fresh made all the patterns for door and will be adding steel to lip to "lower "the car further

Flare job started today with 1 inch "tub" job thrown in for good measure... Ghetto Backyarder styles ... please no flaming.. need to make some more on car adjustable trailing arms... a job for tomorrow have lots of pics will do a tech article if anyone is interested... obviously not even close to finished but you get the idea

Pics powdercoated centres in "bright white " 1 day turn around and $60 for sandblast and powdercoat ...good value slight front and rear flarage needed to fit nicely ... approx 10 mm front and 50mm rear... front meshie on the rear yes they are SSR mk 2 r "r" the second "r " is for RACE ( ie extreme lightweight) I like my wheels and try to find some nice ones then when i get sick of em i sell em and get some more

2 hrs work from f@$ked to gleaming...still not quite there my polishing wheel decided it didn't want to play so they aren't actually" polished "yet just with a cutting compund ..that said still can see yourself in then reflection :| lavarack at eagle farm dropped off today collect tomorrow :D need to bolt em on so i can get an idea of flareage then they will be back apart and frankenstiened into a 8.5 or a 9 or maybe even a 9.5 this will give me the outward offset for clearances etc.... there plenty of room inboard for more rim n tyre... waiting for the mk 2 's ...took them to a guy in slacks creek .....seems pretty switched on.$120 a rim perfectly straight will let you know when i get em back as to quality for future reference

to to getting there centres will be back from powdercoating tomorrow and fitted up more pics then

buy 3 piece rims( ssr volk most good japansneezy rims ) split them and buy wider sections to replace the narrower section ...hey presto wide rims with wicked offset at a vastly reduced price i had a pair of factory 15 x 9.5 -12 SSR mesh rims which i sold for $1200 without tyres these will be vastly cheaper...

meshies... were 15 x 6.5 +13 purchased from Roo.... thanks!!! now fully reversed and in the process of being polished to MIRROR finish stage 1 only complete "not yet polished" only sanded so far with 40 to 600 grit max dish will be splitting these and making them 8.5 or 9 inch wide with "new" Inner sections sandblasting and painting centres .....maybe bright white should have my ssr's back from having a ding straightened by Friday .. mount wheels on Saturday to see how wide i need to go
