The "omg Guess What Happened Today" Thread
Budowski replied to JiP's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
I feel your pain dude. All i did was live to work and i was indespenseable until the american company had a take over 12 months before and now my team and the rest of australia was made redundant. Myworkplace hated the fact i was going and was scared of all the things they now were required to do having no klowledge of the motor repair industry what so ever. I was offered a position to go with the privatised company that was taking over the service division, but if i took it i would be out of a redundacy payout for some insane reason. So 12 months on and after being asked to go back several times I'm very happy being a toyota mechanic and not being incharge anymore. My advice is shove it up em and start shopping you may not find the right job 1st up but it will come and ull wonder what all the fuss was about. -
awesome i like it ill try and make it to everyone
-
Along the base of the carby its clearly stamped, ask for these pics and ask if its a italy made or spain made aparently italy one is better more precise. But i wouldnt sneeze at a spanish one over a stock 4ac carb anyday. I have both makes have yet to do anything with them was thinking of droping one on the AE71.

yeh myles add it in the topic KE25 KID where would be best to pick you up on the way? -
A conversion will cost you the engine $800-1500, fuel setup $300-600,exhaust $300-600 and wiring if you pay a guy maybe $400 not to mention you may want to replace the clutch $150-300and do a timing belt $80 or even a water pump$ 180. conversion total $1800-3660 of coarse with the luck of finding these items cheaper, i think just a simple webber upgrade on the cheap would suit http://cgi.ebay.com.au/WEBER-ADAPTOR-PLATE...p3286.m20.l1116 webber $60 from wreckers rebuilt $200 adaptor plate kit $49.95 $9.95 postage weber total $319.90 all depends on if you want to bite the 4AGE bullet.

I must be a dedicated cruiser, told friday about a 4am sat morning cruise to mannum with nissansilvia.com, so finished work and got home by 630pm Had a think about it and then at 730pm proceeded to strip out my old front struts and brakes, replaced the coils with lowered coils and shock inserts, regreased the hub bearings and new seals. bleed whole brake systems as the brakes hoses required disconnecting from struts and replace bent RH lower control arm. Adjusted wheel alignment and RH caster rod. Decided while car was in the air to change the oil. Once i had finished the front end, i went to the rear and threw in some lowered springs, also had a chance to rotate the tyres and adjust the rear brakes. clock hits 1130pm decide to go to sleep. Alarms goes off at 3.00am leave house at 3.20am, manage to make it from morphettvale to the botanic gardens by 4am with a car wash thrown in. Was an awesome turnout and a great cruise they even put on a bacon and egg bbq at mannum. Got back home at 8.30am. Just thought this might be an example of why i posted this thread in the 1st place. am i over dedicated ?

yeh i agree with mystik, funny thing? if your bro is a mechanic why would he be telling you an rb20 would fit into a 1989 corolla ? but yeah sure anything would fit with a angle grinder and a welder but changing the vehicle front wheel drive platfrom to rear wheel drive would be labour intenseive

Southern cruise to Victor Harbour.29th november saturday Meet point - Colonnades, Beach Rd, NOARLUNGA 5168 near the Red Rooster, there is Shell service station nearby Time - 1.30pm, once everyone turns up well try to leave no later than 2pm. Destination - Victor Harbour, carpark near the walkway that joins Granite Island, or if that is packed being nice weather, may need to be the Woolworths carpark. Turn right onto beach Rd, Leaving from the set of lights between the red rooster and the shell service station. Note there should be two lanes at the lights to turn right so fill them up. We may get caught at the 2nd se of lights but there are also still two lanes fill them up the road will merge into one lane slightly going past bunnings. Heading East on Beach Rd towards South Rd intersection. Turn right onto South Rd. Note! Do not! turn off south rd at the Victor Harbour turnoff. Heading south on South Rd towards Myponga. Note We will be turning left at a small intersection before the town of Myponga. Turn left, and in less than 100m turn left again onto Pages Flat Rd Turn right onto Hindmarsh Tiers Rd. Note also called Hindmarsh Valley Rd on googlemaps. Heading East/South, longest section will end at a T junction of the Victor Harbour Rd Turn right onto Victor Harbour Rd and follow into the main town of Victor Habour. The road name changes to Hindmarsh Rd and then Torrens St. Turn left onto Ocean St which is a brick paved road, shops/movies/pubs. This should take us directly to the esplanade carpark where the bridge to granite island is. If the carpark is unsuitable the 2nd parking point will be on Torrens st at the Woolworths shopping centre carpark. Vitually the same road we came in on. Which has a KFC and Woolworths petrol station. If anyone is interested might make a run up to the Bluff and back before leaving for home. Torrens rd heading West/South turn right onto Victoria St and a left onto Bay Rd and left again onto Harbour View Tce. Head towards the ocean and turn right onto Franklin Parade all sign posted can't miss the bluff entrance

How Do You Change Brake Fluid On A Ke70
Budowski replied to Mybowlcut's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
wrote this on here a little while back. same idea as bleeding brakes. "Ok here we go In the engine bay there is a little reservoir bolted to the right hand side of the firewall, which is next to the brake master reservoir make sure both of these have brake fluid upto their maximum levels. If not and if they are dry then there is your 1st problem they need fluid and if they are empty then there will be air in the system which will also cause the problem your experiencing. Next pump the clutch pedal vigeriously say 20 times and then put your head under the dash with a light to see if there are any brake fluid leaks on the shaft leading to the pedal and fire wall inside. If there are leaks then the clutch master will need replacement. Very easy 1 pin with a clip and 1 clutch pipe fitting and 2 bolts to hold the thing to the firewall. Bleeding the brake fluid will come later. Next if that if all ok pump the pedal another 20 times as mentioned. At the front of the grearbox near the starter motor is the other end of the twisty pipe that runs from the clutch master cylinder pipe end to the clutch slave cylinder end. The clutch slave looks like a cast block with a rubbber boot with ribs that connects to the clutch fork. Pull back the rubber ribbed boot to see if there are any leaks from the shaft. If there are leaks this slave cylinder will also need to be replaced, once again very easy 1 pipe fitting and 2 bolts to hold it to the gear box once removed make sure the new slave has a little grease on the end before it mates back upto the clutch fork. Ok now this is very important never over tighten any of the brake pipes of bleed nipples, they are not a load bearing structure so will not need a huff and a puff and groan to tighten, they only need to be fed on by hand and then tightened a nip or two. The bleed nipple is on the slave end once everything is in position and "tightened" fill the clutch resevior to the max and find a small rubber hose or some vucum line to put over the bleed nipple. Put the hose in a 600ml coke bottle right to the bottom fill the bottom with 50ml of brake fluid. Now once these things have been done you can comence bleeding your clutch system, helps a ton if you have a mate who can sit in the drivers seat to pump the clutch pedal while you monitor clutch reservior level and flow from the slave. Open the bleed nipple with hose attached and in bottle as described. Initally the clutch pedal may go to the floor and not come back up so may need to bring back by hand untill the fluid is flowing say 20 or so pumps and including topping level up during.(may take more than 20 pumps but is a guide) Watch the fluid entering the bottle once it starts to flow during pumping it may be bubbling that is the air mentioned before need all of the air gone and nothing but fluid, so once the bubbles stop as your helper is pumping the pedal and your watching fluid level does not go past minium you can close the bleed nipple off. id repeat the bleed process 3 times to make sure. Do not over tighten the bleed nipple!!. Once all this has been done you should see the clutch slave and fork moving as your helper is pushing down on the clutch pedal, it should more a good 15mm or more. Try that see how you go and this is pretty much the rule of thumb for most hydraulic clutch and brake systems for bleeding and inspection." hope this helps. -
