  1. Yeah I read up about that. Like all projects... it has it's pros and it's cons. Looks like a N/A 5K is the safest and cheapest shot for the moment... until I think of an engine I wanna mess around with! And that most likely will be the 4AGZE with a 20V head on it. That was my original plan for the first one, until I sold it and I through away all my contacts for the conversion! Oh well, time get the yellow pages out again! hahaha
  2. Welcome aboard buddy! :moon: And according to your avatar... nice kit :)
  3. Packs a bit of a punch I take it then? :moon:
  4. That rolla is looking a real trick! Ridiculously straight! Excellent job on the bodywork. :moon:
  5. Well, I know his one does anyway. He's just fitted a front mount cooler and BOV and it don't pick up properly until 3500 rpm. But once it kicks in... it boogies, I know that much. I could be wrong here, but it's just what I've been led to believe unless I can be told otherwise. I am open for other thoughts, so educate me if you must :moon:
  6. DOH! (smacks forehead) I noticed that before and I STILL asked on here! Sorry... my bad! :) I'll read the thread. Cheers dude :moon:
  7. All valid points.... thank you, I now have MORE stupid ideas to think about :moon: hahahahaha. Yeah, I know SR20DETs are pretty tough. The only thing that puts me off is they suffer more lag than what rexys do... and you'd need some cash to fix that.
  8. Nissan FJ20DET? Or try a WRX EJ20DET (Boxer motor) Don't see many rollas with one of them in it, do ya now? :moon:
  9. I want the KE35 coupe!!! hahaha All it's missing now is some airbags! Especially with the size of them wheels! I love it! hahaha Nice red rolla :moon:
  10. Yeah I think 5K would be the go with this little project. And you can always bore out the motors and do all kinds of crazy stuff to it! Fun little motors. Has anybody had any dramas with forcing air into one of these motors via a hairdryer a.k.a turbo? :moon:
  11. We can ship em over if you want :moon: I have 3 rotor shops not far from me at all!
  12. Thanks for the reply guys. Dwarf... that Gen 3 may come in handy with something else I have in store :) hahaha Nah, the V8 option was more like a "king of wishful thinking" moment I had. I've always loved an 8 in a small car but I also realise it's impracticalities. If I was to build such a thing.. I'd build it strict street/strip, like Paul Cundy's Blown 383ci V8 KE30, which then saw a 13B Turbo motor converted! I ain't a huge fan of rotorollas, I'm old fashion there, I say leave rotors in Mazdas. Plus to convert a 13B would be close to the $9K-$10K mark, so I may just stick to either a screamer 4... or a boosted 4. Thanks for the info... Now it was mentioned earlier about these 7K motors... what's the deal with them, are they sourceable? Parts easy to get? Does it require fab work? What drivetrain setup would go back with this? If these questions are answered in another thread, please direct me there. Cheers :moon:
  13. Hmmmm.... you raise an interesting point Grim... Maybe an injected 5.0 litre then! :moon: May require some *cough* slight *cough* hacking.... but hey, if it wasn't meant to fit... MAKE IT FIT!!! hahahaha I just wanna put a motor in that not many people hear too much of. Maybe a Nissan FJ20DET motor (2.0l turbo). Unless... How hard would it be to put RA60 Celica running gear into a Corolla? MAJOR work? Or light headaches? I ask this because originally I wanted to fit a 4AGZE motor into my old one, but too many people have em now! No fun! :)
  14. Would you think this would work? Being as smaller V8 from the early Holdens, this was a crazy thought. As people can convert a Commodore 3.8 litre 6 Cylinder motor into one of these little beasts... could it be possible to cramp this oldie but goodie carby 8 motor? I know there are Supra 5 Speeds and/or Celica split case 5 speeds applications for this motor, so the questions would be.. Has it been done? Can it be done? Should I do it? Or should I just try and source a 7K motor and go crazy one of those motors? Honest opinions please, so if I get laughed at... oh well.... stranger things have happened :moon:
  15. Woops! This is where I was meant to go instead of broadcasting my life story in the Audio forum! My bad! :moon: Tiger John Yankovski Commodore VT S Pack series by day... by night, a KE55 sedan!!! (Once I get it on the raad and legal) This is the details of my KE55
  16. Well, if it's one thing I'm confident with doing, is organising a big turnout for events. Via flyers or online advertisement and word of MAJOR mouth! :moon: But roughly how many members are they in Victoria? Would you like to see a social side to this forum? IE: Cruises, bbqs, day or night outs and the like... If so, I'm more than happy to get things started. And anybody reading this post, please post up your interest if you wish to see a local cruise or a big BBQ or something along those lines.
