Luc brang around the black paint that will be getting used, all i can say for what the final result should look like is wow. Luc's also doing some test panels, just awaiting a delivery from DNA paints. Will be using the blue pearls in the pic below

dug out the bog on the outside of the window inserts. decided to butyl mastic the outside of it too. Hopefully getting the big compressor dropped off to start priming tomorrow.

Id say MOST not all of the workshops open should be capeable of doing a cam swap on a K engine.

yea, it might fit in the commonwhore but i don't wanna get down to upi, get it off the car, pay for it then find out it wont fit. Plus the rear seat doesnt completely fold down in these things. just a little trap door thingo. Both window inserts are welded in. Spoke to a crash repairer and was told not to seal it from the outside as it will look crap once painted over. So i Byutal Mastic'd if from the inside and gave it a skim of bog on the outside to smooth over where the insert and body meet. also to give it a smooth radius.. All thats left to do is weld a new section of gutter in on the rear and smooth out the tailgate one last time.

No wreckers have any so i think it will be a trip down to UPI. then i gotta sort out a car that can fit a bonnet in it. Anyone had any luck with ke30 bonnets into VN sedans ??

I got 2 GENUINE ROH 12slot centers today off my mates dad. Being a GT/mustang restoration business he had a few around and showed me the differences in design and strength (quite a few non genuine ones had a crack in them) but the corolla being much lighter than an XY i SHOULDN'T have an issue but once the wagons on the road and i can get a hold of some 14x7 or 8 rims i'll grab a couple more genuine centers and make the rear ones the same.

Nah mate, not implying you. I had my dig at ya already. Even i almost put my ke25 into a sign pole. That was 3k powered and the thing had a 4k head so real low comp. That was a tail flick turn into a 4 wheel slide and 180 spin. I was very lucky i didnt hit it. Since then i have had a bit more respect of the line between what i can and can't do. As KEnut said, I remember a mate from vic talking about the exact same cars/engines. 253 = around 114 flywheel kw V6 = around 125 flywheel kw. Sure, its only 9kw. but lets see what gets up to speed quicker. They even banned Ford transits due to a turbo diesel 4cyl making a HUGE 88kw.

can't you make/ have made a shroud for the front if it and the thermo bolts to the shroud? Probably out of sheet metal. Powdercoat/paint it black and you'll never see if from the front. I was under the impression that the KE70 pumps had a shorter nose and shallow pulley.

Remember thats a rotor which woulda pulled in excess of 10,000rpm? But one of the things id do if i got a lightened flywheel would be a scatter sheild. I like my feet where they are :wink:

It doesnt matter if its turbo/SC/V8 or even a 1.3L corolla, people are still gonna hoon around in them and do silly things. Some people fail HARD. Someone on here once said it: Ban Low Performance Drivers, Not Hight Performance Cars. Its not the cars that kill, its the person in control.

I wonder how it'd be on a daily driven car? with the loss of interia?
