Yea, I spotted that 20 there on thursday. has been there for a week or 2 if my memory serves me correct. Also spotted the ol 30 comeing off defect :P Then on the way blowing the headgasket. not so :P then spotted 4k/5spd going in today. even more :P

4K/5spd is all in. Not running tho. Has a coolant leak from the water pump and the rear inspection plate on the back of the head. For anyone with an originally automatic KE30/55 and looking to bolt a ke70 5spd in will find that the gearbox mount and the crossmember don't line up at all. Just thought id let people know before they go expecting it all to fit like a charm. Only going by what the builder told me. Either way, it had enough power to REALLY give it a massive set of balls. specs from what i was told. 7K out of a Townace. Machined (decompressed) head, Fully balanced bottom end. Pretty big turbo Drawthru weber side draught carb. Townace belhousing and Commercial gearbox. KE55 tailshaft, 3.36 banjo shortened from a One Tonner. XC orange Black Vinyl interior (overrated, from what i saw) I could have bought it for $3,000 as is. but didn have the money and it turned up in a car yard 2/3 months later with a BHG and the dealer wanted 6,5000 i think.

The 30's off defect as of tonight. Took Luc down with me, cop checke the tyres, i handed over 24.5 clams and i was in and out within 15mins. Took it for a drive after and me bing stupid i forgot to top up the water before leaving for the cop shop. and subsequently blew the head gasket. Looks like jasons got yet another reason to rebuild the f@$ker.

New springs going in when i get front shocks, you can test out my chops to see about the ride height.

Use the K-W bellhousing out of a KR townace (the ones with a 7k in them) My mate was using the bellhousing an gearbox out of the lightace behind his turbo 7k 25. putting out about 250rwhp. Either that or just use the bellhousing and bolt up another W series box. EDIT: Aparantly you can use a Corona clutch fork with this bellhousing to keep it cable operated.

YEp, cut springs :dance: Previous owner did them. I have the 265mm ones sittign in the shed ready to go in when i get time. I havent really had a problem with them. But chopping springs is a good way to find the perfect ride height, then get the new ones the same size.

I had never been pulled by the cops in any of the 5 cars i own/owned. I did get pulled into an RBT on my L's tho. ahk, pic will be soon.

265mm free height will get you just about sitting on legal height. And get a pair of leaves thru the group buy, those prices are probably a once off too :) If you don't wanna buy lowered springs you can have the chops out of the front of my 30. they sit EXACTLY on legal height and handled the twisties rather well.

will grab my old wheels off of jason tonight or tomorrow night. get home from work friday night, get under it and flip the leaves back to stock without taking the springs out, slap on a bumper and put my old seats back in and take ti to degrease the bay on the way to the cop shop.

Nah just driving on my way home. Got done for front tyres on the wear markers and rear track too wide (cop wrote it just so he didnt have to send me to regencey for being too low)

It was bound to happen. And really i thank him for not putting the height on the defect or the 30 wouldnt have seen the road again. or at least after a full rebuild. $24.50 to get it off defect at the cop shop as opposed to $190 (i think) if it went to regency, and it prolly wouldnt pass anyway.

Just to get some more air flow in the bay. paticularly around the carb. I'm sure the 4KZ wont have any troubles sucking air itself :cool: Just for a bit of airflow

looked at it and didnt say anything. Just talked to me a bit, said bout the scrubbing and got me to turn the wheel to chesk the front tread.

Well the engine swap mightnt happen this saturday as where I'm doing it is usually closed every 4th saturday. But got told to check on thursday as plans might change. NEWSFLASH: Driving home from work today, spotted a motorbike cop coming the other way and passed without anything happening. Looked in the rearview to see some bright headlights do a 180 about 10 cars behind me. Stopped waiting to turn left at a roundabout, cop pulled up behind me in the bike lane and turned the corner as well and put on the disco lights :cool: Done me for the front tyres on the wear markers and the rear tyres scrubbing. Thank god he wasnt a prick and got me for being too low, or else it was straight to regency. Only have to change the wheels back to my old ones and get some stock leaves into it and take it down the the christies cop shop and off i go.

Spotted ROLA 84 on Port rd. Drove straight past me as i was pulled over waiting to get out. gave ya the thumbs up. Spotted a T18 on South rd at bedford park. Spotted the ol 30 getting a canary on Wheatsheaf rd on the way home :cool:

they sit right. probably not captive with stock shocks of course. Been told to just wire the springs in to stop them fallng out and that was info from a Pedders man haha

my headlight got pushed back 40mm and the metal under the battery has kinked. How hard would it be to modify the bonnet for something like one of those sunken in vents? Behind the drivers side headlight for the carb

Engine conversion HAS TO HAPPEN. this thing is blowing more smoke than a cigarett convention. smoke Out the exhaust smoke Out the rocker cover, then coming up thru old auto shifter hole into cabin. and oil running down rocker cover onto exhaust manifold, GOD MORE SMOKE I got smoke.....out the WAZOO
