  1. O wow, Gotta be stoked :y: Theres a wagon down here that has the stock chrome bumpers, I want it  can't wait for this new build :y: Travis.
  2. Yea that looks sweet with those rims on the front and the rear. Love the height like that :y: Hope it sells quick for you Travis.
  3. Alright thanks, If I can find one for a good price then yea I will definately go for it, but I will hold off on the wiring then for a couple of months, ill do engine and running gear and suspension in the mean time. Cheers Travis.
  4. Haha Cool cool. Whats next on the to do list? Travis.
  5. Anyone know where some good condition ae82's with bigport 4ages are down sydney area? at a pick a part type of wrecker, thats really reasonably priced? Because i need a loom and some other peices from an ae82. I am heading down next sunday and will be in sydney on moday so i canl ook then :y: Cheers Travis
  6. HAHA That shit is dope haha Wouldnt look too bad with those rims on the front all round and tucked like that Travis.
  7. I just remebered I don't have TPS or throttle either.. Pics: Kinda wish I didnt sell all the wiring I had... I was an idiot... And wish I didnt sell my rwd complete inlet plenum and everthing on it... In hignsight anyway. Travis.
  8. Nice, you end up doing the cams and exhaust etc? Travis.
  9. So I cannot use the JDM gear? I have a JDM dizzy, tvis setup, TPS, and the green? and brown? plugs on the back of the head are there if thats what you were reffering too, I also have the fuel rail, Pretty sure its complete. All I'm missing is coil and ignitor and map sensor and things attached to the inlet plenum and a complete loom and ecu? For the JDM setup. I will go and get some photos of the ecu and loom and plugs on the actual engine now. Cheers. Travis.
  10. Thanks for that link. Lets say I didnt have any wiring loom at all, nothing, just a JDM 4age. What would I need out of an ae82 to get me by? inlcuding map snesor and throttle body and stuff off inlet amnifold and ignitor and coil, what else? Cheers for that, photos would be great to cross reference the loom I already have :y: Cheers. Travis.
  11. Ok thankyou. I will look around, I think I'm going to need to go to a pick a part of some description. I may do this on one of the days before I fly out to Fiji as i will be in Sydney, anyone know which ones has a few ae82's? Cheers. Travis.
  12. At the moment I have to get this engine in ASAP so its going in stock standard apart from a TODA flywheel and heavy duty clutch. I'm building another engine I have in my garage after this stock one is running and on the road. Hmm. Parrot, would it be too much trouble for you to take a picture of all the plugs and associated wiring for a bigport loom? everything to get it running? I really don't know aobut this loom, but its handy to know that I can get the stuff I need out of an ae82. Just need to find one... Cheers. Travis.
  13. Even aussy bigport 16v's are amp sensored? Or is it only the ones with blue and black writing on the cam cover bigports? I thought it was only jdm ones were MAP and aussy were AFM? Yea I just feel I can convert to aftermarket ECU later on down the track, kinda need it on the road as my dad is having more of a whinge everyday. Red and black cam covered bigports are definately AFM. Read here scroll down a bit: http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/phil.bradsh...#Specifications Cheers. Travis.
  14. I put vista on my computer, its nicer, more user friendly, networking was a bitch compared to XP in my opinion. After 1 month I got tired of how slow it was and over the "coolness" of all vistas extra's etc. I even went as far as getting the incomplete vista, the one they put out as a demo kind of thing before it was realised, it was cool for a while, then you get over it and how slow it runs. Travis.
  15. Yep definately, Lime is easy for me as we use it at work. and it does the job nicely. Why do you say not hit it with the oxy? The whole point of hitting it with the oxy is to keep the heat in it whilst welding so the whole peice dosent cool in different parts. and keeps heat in it the entire time. Everyone has there own views on it, but I see the logic behind mine more than just chucking it in the oven, welding it up, then dropping it in an insulator for a while. But not everyone has access to all the tools and equipment I do. Travis.
  16. Got some info for you boys. Electrode: Nickel ferrite. Specially made for cast. Cost: $20+ per electrode, need around 5 - 10 Procedure: Heat parts to be welded (not case :)) with an oxy acetylene. Keep continuous heat on parts to be welded, have it set up so its heating with oxy whilst welding. do little bits of weld with the electrodes specified, take it easy, still applying continuous heat, once finished welding keep heating, "submerge" in a bucket filled with lime for 48+ hours (very important) After 48 hours of being in lime take out and done, just blow out the lime dust with air. Put back in and fill with oil etc etc. You know the drill. If you can't figure out how to do any stuff I've left out maybe this isn't the job for you :D But by all means ask me any questions and I will find out the answers for you as best I can :D This isn't a quick on the cheap kind of thing, make sure your settings are correct, you have enough electrodes to do the job and the know how on doing the job and welding. And most of all KEEP HEATING ENTRE TIME UNTIL ITS PLACED IN LIME!!! Hope that helps someone :) Might be useful in the FAQ or something even, dunno. Cheers. Travis.
  17. It says where it is, and its no where near you :) 255 Kossuth St Bridgeport CT Ie The US Of A Travis.
  18. OK I bought a JDM 4age came with a loom for a microtech and a microtech lt10s and ignitor, the microtech had the wrong tune for my 4age, and 400 dollar remap, not worth the effort. So I sold it, The stuff I got also came with a blue sticker 4ag standard ecu, now these are an adm ecu yes? Also came with a wiring loom that looks like it suits. Now, I'm wondering what I should do. The wiring loom I have for the adm ecu looks a little messy, I am not sure what it is missing, like it has all the injectors everything, like looks complete, except for 4 wires that come out of the loom that somehow change into like 20ish little wires with cheap single plugs on the end of them. I don't know what there for. Also dosent have anywhere for an ignitor or coil, so I'm a bit lost there. I will take some photos of the loom. Also I'm getting another intake from japan for this engine, its bare, just the inlet not throttle body or map sensor etc etc. Should I wire it up with an afm and get another loom out of an ae82 or similar? Or should I get a jdm ecu and an adm bigport loom and modify it to suit and figure out something for the map sensor? Or should I just make my own loom and go aftermarket? IE megasquirt? Or does someone have a JDM loom and ecu unmodify'd or not very much, complete and figure out a map sensor for it? Cheers. Travis.
  19. Better safe than sorry, Might not just be your own life you save :) Brake upgrades are a must :) Travis.
  20. Yep I found 3 fuse boxes on my car a while ago when i was having some trouble with some wiring, kick panel on drivers side floor, one near steering wheel, and the one under the bonnet, I'm not sure if there is one on the passenger side kick panel, who knows. I'm putting a seal kit through my clutch master cylinder etc because I don't want that happening, O and I have a JDM t50 :) stoked :D How does it go for stopping power? I hate the brakes in my ke70 with a 4k!! I can't imagine a 4age in it with stock brakes :) Travis.
  21. Ok now that weve cleared that up :) Continue :) Travis.
  22. Surely you meant $5000 not $55000. Travis.
  23. Well the thing with putting it in lime is lime will make it cool down super super super slowly, which is what you want, you don't want your diff to be brittle and shatter on the first corner. And I mean shatter. So placing it in lime for a minimum of 24 hours lets it cool super slowly and equeax the grain structure, obviously not as good as forging, but close enough for a backyard weldie diff in a 900kg car :) If you wanted it to be super brittle you would heat it up alot and submerge it in oil. Not 100% sure on the electrodes, I have an idea but I will find out 100% for you tomorow off my dad, Please note these electrodes arnt cheap, looking around 20 dollars per electrode. Your 4age is a bigport correct? Are those the current modifications or ones you are going to do? Cheers. Travis.
  24. Only a little, not too much :) :) :D
  25. Gotta be stoked man, gotta be stoked, only 2 months or so for me :) Travis.
