  1. Pulled it ouf of the shed again today for a quick wash off all the dust from dirt under the guards, etc. My handywork on the panel is not that great lol, I will skim it before paint, one day when funds permit I will have it fixed up properly, I will also have some extra paint mixed up for this occasion. I think the fuel pump has died, not really that surprising after sitting so long something had to break, however I did drive it back to the shed again lol. The pic of the rust is the worst pary in the whole car, rustwise it is very good, lliving in the country since new may have helped it. Hopefully getting my paint tomorrow. :P
  2. Today I stripped off the front guards, apron, bumper, bonnet, doors, boot. Only had one bolt snapped off into the body. Also started tearing off all of the original paint, got most of the LH rear quarter, accidentally found the lead loading in one patch but only took a tiny bite out of it.
  3. Spent all of the afternoon pulling this panel straight. The final result should be pretty good!
  4. Well I have the car here at home for the price I wanted it at, I gave the panels a shot myself earliewr and they came up ok, will look half good with the giner details fixed with some bog.. The dent above the arch was easy it more or less popped back out leaving a tiny dent to fill. Taillight area is pretty good now, wont be perfect but good enough for me. Around the end of the bumper popped out with one or two decent wacks. Apare from this I have a few shopping trolley dents, a big dent in the RH sill and minor rustto attend to.
  5. What model? you may find it is easier to fit a bonnet from a self serve wreckers... Otherwise some of the dents may pop out with a rubber mallet as I found today with my ke20.
  6. Cheers, I was going to start a "parts list" as such over the next week and go into your f/s thread. Already have a new genuine dash pad. Apart from not being able to stop it drives pretty smoothly. Lots of angry redbacks hiding in there though....
  7. As mentioned in my ke30 thread I bought this little beastie yesterday, had been sitting in a grandmas front lawn for 10 years untouched. We put a battery and some fuel in and it went second turn of the key, absolutely no brakes but that didn't stop us going for a drive out of the driveway and down the driveway to the shed and in for a bit of disassembly. Anyhow I have some before photos of as I found it and after a decent wash. Still running the factory 3k with k40, has some interesting trim my other ke20 L didn't have. Though the boot is not original the L badge may not mean anything after all. I tried bleeding the brakes and had no luck there is a break in the line for the rear part of the circuit. The tyres were flat but are brand new withall the nobby bits still there, unfortunately they are retreads. I haven't ever even seen 12" retreads before. Plans: Respray in white. Put my jelly beans on. Mild 4k Grey cloth interior. Cruise. Anyway I have been looking for a cheap ke20 for ages. Cost $250 :( :) :) Minimal rust and only one major dent. the pics I had seen of it before going to pick it up looked lots worse than what it actually is. Here we go..... Tomorrow we are painting the plastics on the front silver.
  8. For starters, either keep it for my ke26 or nick the bigport head off it. Everything seems to work except for the dashlights behind the speedo and the brakes are f*cked.
  9. Spot the cannon? lol. Should be fun with the locked diff, I have a spare floating about I have thought about having locked but never got to.
  10. Ryobi Tuned Suspension FTW.....
  11. This followed me home today. Story goes it was owned by a grandma and not been on the road in the last 10 years. Getting it on the trailer was a pain in the ass as the tyres were dead flat and I had clearance issues, I pulled in at the narrandera servo and pumped them up on the way home. Get home put in the battery out of my XF and some fuel in the tank, ran pretty much within 30 seconds of turning the key. Cost: $250 I think I got a bargain, most the shit came off after a wash. plans? 4k (NO major conversions) I have some 12" 5 slotters, new coat of paint and a seal kit.
  12. Going to go get my ke20 on the weekend. The 4k I am building for this projjy will be going into the 20. I have another spare 4k block around somewhere to build up. Actually pretty excited about the little "road trip" I'm going on, getting the trailer on friday arvo, fill up the vs bogandore, go to the mother in laws friday night, pick the 20 up first thing saturday. :)
  13. Was this the one on ebay? I was watching that one. Good luck with it,
  14. well done, I have been working at a woolies for the last 5 years.......
  15. Also possible the base model has four stud wheels as my father bought a levin. Anyway back on topic now. :)
  16. Those commodore wheels actually suit it good. That 08 corolla stockie is different from dads new rolla, his is a 5 stud.
  17. If you are putting the motor from an auto into a manual car you may need to fit a spigot bush into the auto motors crank. :)
  18. I can't stop thinking about my rolla's, also loosing sleep at the moment because I am so excited to go and pick the ke20 up next weekend with the trailer. don't even know what the first thing I do will be to the new toy apart from getting it running. Sooooo many ideas, soo much grog in the fridge and only two days off......
  19. One of my ke20L's has black on thedash parts and black around the windows with the chrome strips under the door and around the window 9this car is 100% genuine original). May not be just subject to SL's.
  20. While your uncle has the welder out, get him to weld the diff up also. :lolcry: :y:
  21. I find most of their products aren't too bad, I really don't like the septone clear coat though.
  22. No, this is a k40 split in half. :lolcry:
  23. I love the sign on the side lol. The whole thing looks pretty schmick all over, well done.
  24. You using a cat as a wheel chock? nice!!! haha :lolcry:
  25. Headlight or taillight? If taillights, LED's are used widely in taillights of a lot of new cars now so I can't see why it wouldn't be legal as long as it still met the rule on visibility (some distance I can't remember.)
