I'd probably upgrade the Coil and get your carby kitted, its definatly sluggish off the line.. also mabey a thermostat to fix that erratic temperature..

I think its a corolla thing, every time I go out with mates, on the way home they go to sleep in the car, must be that sweet 4K note :)

Just confirming it for you, dad was mowing and the ride on mower threw a rock of all places right through my rear f@$kING window! Just got the f@$ker changed, going to get as far away from this car as I can tonight, going for a cruise up the coast in my mates WRX to get my mind off things.. PS.. I ran your carby wednesday and thursday and its so painful to drive, i've spent way more time than i should on my car already, would rather have it fixed by someone who knows what they are doing so it runs as nice is it was before so i don't have any more dramas..

Already wasted enough time on it the past week can't keep having days off work trying to fix it myself or my boss is going to be pissed..

Engine idles at 3000-4000RPM, need to get it looked at..

Looks as though I'm out for taking my car to the Rollaclub Cruise, seems this problem I've been having with my idle scince skidpan is going to take its toll, could only get it booked in to get it looked as soon as monday :) Should still be able to make it to the cruise though, seems i'll be bumming a lift with Savage in his KE70..

I recently purchased a fire extinguisher for my car, I just think of it as a cheap insurance policy, few weeks back on tv a falcon burned out on the side of the highway, the lady had no way to put it out, nobody stopped to help, just think if it was mandatory to have a fire extinguisher fitted to your car car she would have been able to put it out and in turn saved the car from being completely burnt out..

I think the weighbridges are more aimed at trucks, I'd go with Jamies suggestion of going to the tip, my uncle went to the tip to weigh his trailer to get it registered once upon a time, gave the guy a carton of piss for doing it for him :P

4K Gearbox will suit a 5K engine no worries, 4K and 5K engine blocks are the same only major difference is the stroke of the 5K being larger...

If I'm not mistaken anything pre 1985 doesn't require these emissions hoses as long as it passes the exhaust emissions testing..
