  1. Yes, I'd agree as well, I'd suggest matt sticks with the 4K till he gets a better feel for how his car handles. Any Learner driver is potentially dangerous if driving inexperienced with so much power. Not to mention insurance for a Turbo/Supercharged car is so high.. I've had my car for 3 years now and think its about time I lived up to my promise of throwing a 4AGE in, keep saying I'm going to do it but always end up spending the money on something else. I'd like a 4AGTE eventually, but I know its way too much power for me at this present point in time. I don't see any real point in throwing a bigger engine than a 4AG into a KE70, at least 4AG is pretty much a bolt in with a AE71 Crossmember. (If you want more power then get a bank loan and get a REAL performance car) When you get around to it if you want to upgrade your 4AGE at a later stage, get your supercharger or turbo for it when you are able to afford it. The way I figure it, I'll leave the turboing till I am more able to afford the full comp insurance.. So for now my sights are set on a 100KW 4AGE, just got to get the parts to do it..
  2. ROFL, I used to get that too when I was a learner driver Mother - "Watch out for that car!!!" Justin - "What Car?" Mother - *Screams Driving Through Round A Bout* Justin - "Thats miles away" *Shakes Head* "Who's the one doing the driving here????" Nothing wose than someone trying to tell you how to drive.... anyways, back on topic guys, are we compiling a list at all of people who are definatly coming / maybe coming at all?
  3. Just because its a 4K, doesn't mean you shift at 4K teddy :) Should be good to go for all toyota day, looking foward to it!
  4. When you jack the car up you should be able to spin the wheel and it does (2 revolutions???) from memory, then you know your drum brakes are adjusted correctly.. any more means more adjustment is needed any less and you have to back it off..

  12. 4AGE is EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection), if thats what it is then it doesn't have a carby, If its a 4A-C then its got a carby.. To find out what it is read the ID tag on the firewall of your engine bay, it will tell you exactly what it is..

  20. already thought about that, they are the wrong ones it turns out, got another set while i was out today and they were exactly the same.. take the set i bought back next weekend when i get a chance..
  21. Got a sparky out to look at the car and he found the lobe on the points had broken off, so it prevented it from getting any spark. Swapped it with nicks old points and bang, she started running $45 later.. started to connect the lights back up and found the left hand indicator / park light wasn't right, got it all rewired and working, moments from being finished and in the attempt to solder the right hand indicator / park light back together properly resulted in 2 wires melting and fusing together, which traveled back up the harness towards the battery, blew 2 fuses and f@$ked the harness in a matter of seconds.. so it was time to swap the harness again, got it down pat now, any ke70 owners need a hand doing it give me a yell, i can do it blindfolded now.. just got it all going and took it for a spin (minus the electronic ignition, also added a new GT40R coil) lots more power down low, though stutters a bit up high, so i'll have to get a new set of points in and get the electronic ignition back on, at least she will get me to work tomorrow never a dull moment with my car :)
  22. still going on it, fryed a part of the wiring harness :) should have it fixed by midnight hopefully *INSERT SWEAR WORDS HERE* Teddy saw that black cat run in front of me the other night dropping him home from skidpan...

  24. Car broke down on me today when i went out for a drive, turns out i have no spark coming from the coil, 3 coils later and after lots of f@$king around changing bits an pieces, only conclusion i can come to is that i have a major wiring problem somewhere... :)
