Did you end up sorting out the console?

I took pics of it because it looked so f@$kin tough...I forgot all about it until yesterday when I was searching through pics....and I was like, hey that looks like Matt's wagon...so I thought I'd share

Seriously, could you please check your spelling before posting, it is really difficult figuring out what you are attempting to say. And no I've never done anything as stupid as that exhaust, especially not on a car I am trying to sell. You wanted an opinion on what your car is worth. You have it...either sell it or keep it, but please stop dribbling shit...cheers.

Well, I think I have narrowed the carby issue down to the auto choke...I have managed to get it to idle, but high...so when I can be bothered I am going to piss the auto choke off, and then get it all tuned...and should be all good. The wagon also had a bit of a failure...but managed to still get me around, the gearbox was making more noise than I have ever heard, but still driving haha. Now I have blown up well over 20 gearboxes, and probably about 30 diffs in my years of doing corolla burnouts, I mean driving corollas...so I have heard some noisy ones in my time...this was incredible...but it still managed to get me to Pharleys, who once again came to my rescue with a nice cheap 4 speed, and a spot of concrete to swap the bastard... All in all the swap went smoothly...and the new gearbox is good. I am still buying a 5 speed for it...as I prefer to have a 5 speed, but at least I am not in fear of it stopping at any moment everytime I drive it haha. The noises first started at xmas, on the way back from visiting my family at the coast...so it did pretty well. It seems it was the input shaft...which has been affecting the engine...it was surging on low throttle, which I put down to being carby, but carby hasn't been touched for weeks, and since the gearbox change it has stopped, and it's got heaps of power back...which is probably a bad thing...especially since I got a speeding ticket last night :dance: The engine has also developed an oil leak, coming from the front main seal area...so at some stage I will pull the engine out...change all the seals, paint it like I wanted to originally, get the sump tapped for an oil return for ummm *cough*turbo*cough* and then chuck it back in and continue with my evil plans :)

I dunno about anyone else on here, but after driving corollas with K engines for the last 10 years, and having had probably 15 of them actually on the road over that time....THE STARTER MOTORS ARE SHIT!!! They wear out, and if it just clicks...try hitting it with a hammer, and then it will probably go again, as Thomo said, it's more than likely on it's way out, given that it's a corolla...I've never had an earth issue cause this problem in any of mine? I have had this exact issue many many times, changed the starter and nothing else, and it has fixed the problem...I'd try find a spare starter and swap them, and see if this solves the problem...if it does, buy a new one :)

I should be able to scrape enough cash together for fuel etc...I am fair keen after looking at those pics...nice location. I'll see if I can round up some other rolla boys from here to cruise down there with me...Never driven to Syd before...I have a bad habit of getting lost...and getting speeding tickets :dance: :bash: 109 in 80 zone tonight on the way to work :yes:

From what I can see, it's dented and spray painted and has non matching wheels...and a f@$ked rear bar, and the silliest looking exhaust I've seen in a while...I think you'd be lucky to give this away personally.

Battery is more than likely the problem...8 volts is not enough...shouldn't drop below about 10 at lowest. Battery has probably dropped a cell.

I wasn't saying anything was wrong with the way things are done really...yes lock their thread, let the user take the time to correct it in a new thread, after all, they have broken the rules....The only reason really that I started this is because of the way the moderator went about it...it made the user out to be a moron...and I didn't think that was fair.

In all honesty...I think it is the appearance of my car...I was in the coupe, and I was coming out of a part of town where people cruise on a Friday night...I just happened to be there as I had picked up maccas for me and my ex gf...unfortunate, and expensive

I used engine oil in a gearbox once...it lasted a few weeks, if your intention is to simply drive it to buy some oil and then go home and drain it out and fill it with correct oil, and you have no other way...I'd do it

I got the same f@$kin fine....for the same reason, I was not speeding, I was too close to the lights to stop without sending everything flying...so I went through, and an undercover cop car chased me and gave me the ticket...only mine is nearly $300

Yes my response was probably negative...I had the shits, because someone asked a genuine question, and his opnion was insulted... And I disagree, I think you can tell someone you don't like something without it coming across as negative....You just have to say it respectfully and in a way so as to not insult the other persons opinion.

Talking to you about this via pm...would not have gauged the public opinion on the subject...I wanted to see if anyone else agreed with me...I have also attempted to speak with you on msn about this...but you never seem to be online. It would appear that my feelings on the subject are shared. So no matter what happens, it is going to have a positive outcome. Redwarf moderates the for sale section too, and closes alot of threads, but he does it in a less attacking way, I doubt ANYONE on this forum would have a problem with the way he handles himself. I have had a problem with the way alot of threads had been handled by LRS...but said nothing, but when I read the one this topic is about, I felt it necessary to say something...LRS has also seen to be arguing with people in other threads...which is fine, so long as he doesn't use the extra power he suddenly has to win arguments. Yes enforce the rules...Yes make people put locations, as it obviously helps...Yes I understand this isn't an easy fix problem where one answer solves everything....But as far as I am concerned...YES something needs to be done about this particular problem, and as I said, it would appear alot of people agree with me.
