i saw one of them with an sr20 in it and a straight through exhaust out the fron of my work. you could hear it idling from inside the store.

nah, i did all the prep work. friend of a friend owns a spray shop so i let him do it :cool: its 2 pac glacier white i think, or maybe diamond white....its a ford colour anyhow.

...i always thought the negative camber was for when the suspension was under lateral load or during weight transfer so the tyres had more surface area in contact with the road, giving better turn in and steering input response? maybe i thought wrong? whatever you may think about drifting, you have to admit, there are some super cool drift cars around. my favourite from japan is hibino tetsuya's levin coupe..16v 4age..flat-side carbs..close ratio gear set... *drools* or from australia, i like josh's 86.. especially after seeing all the work that has gone into it (forgot which forum all the pics are on). but i also like micheal spencer's onevia, for a ca18 its pretty tough.

this looks alot like my project that is underway, except mine is a KE50. i bought it for 400 and have cleaned it up a bit, exterminated rust completely, and all the regular things. good luck with it, you will be really satisfied when you finish especially since its your first car. not like all those rich bitches who get their cars bought for them, you are building your first car up. i get my licence in 5 days :D tom

twas a good day. was a bit of a bummer i was getting a cold. but I'm happy with forth for the sprints, considering my knee wasnt all that great. and the times... i need to lose weight and shrink! i have too much air resistance going down the straight....stupid height. oh well :angrybird: plenty of bruising = moneys worth for the day. i think i achieved that pretty well. p.s thanks for the stickers nick :D

i love old school japanese cars. they just really appeal to me.

i only buy HPI or Drift Batle. i used to read street commodores when i was about 10 and i wanted a fully sick VL mate. but then i found my 400 dollar corolla :P quite a weird case you have there ROLLIN, would be interested in their reply.

exactly why i want to go to japan. i totally agree that compared to the japanese events, the australian events are pretty boring, mostly because of the average venues. it couldnt be you, you drive an MX83 :P i only know of shane bingham (white 86), beau yates (silver 4agte 86) i think he drives a wrx now, simon michelmore (black ca18 86), leighton fine (yellow 4agze) and some other guy who drives a brown one, that enter the comps.

apparently it originated from japan and started as 'drift racing', which is drifting while trying to get the quickest time round the track. this is keichi tsuchiya's claim to fame i believe. don't quote me on that.

i can't imagine the uproar that would occur if QR was shut down. think about the v8 supercar races and club events like the drift nationals that are held there. its queensland premiere and only track that is open still.

haha yea especially when they can't get them right. that standard datsun getting caught doing 160kph hahah what a joke. surely they could open up their cold hearts and build one out in woop woop like QR, fairly remote from housing but not hours drive from anywhere. and on the coast somewhere. :D

well i suppose everything can be considered a learning curve. althought the track would be ideal place to learn the handling limits of your car etc. if you happen to find these things out on the road, whether by accident or purpose, it could be taken positively or negatively. positive that you know a little bit more about the type of conditions that it could happen in again. and negative that you could end up in a pole because of it. sp maybe more tracks is the answer (not just ones in the brisbane area, gold coasters need some too :D) so that the drifters can drift and the grip racers can...grip race in a safe environment....well safer than what they could have done it in.

my bad for the spelling haha. amen to that. if anyone has the High Performance Imports V3 & V4 dvd then you would have seen the purple KE70 (model with round headlights) that has a 4age in it and drifts like a champion. that made me want to buy a KE70 haha. has pretty crazy suspension. anyway, despite all the people who act like fools and are associated with drifting, it is fun getting a car sideways for prolonged periods of time, which is why a majority of people would do it i suspect. its even more fun when you are on a farm in a rusty old datusn 1600 that isnt yours :D

haha yes, but without the laws or gravity, suspension and handling theory the wouldnt eb able to drift in the first place :D

yea, thats a fair comment. i think there is a difference between getting out on the track and having a go, even if your not that good or your just learning, and people that try and do it for some cool status, or because everyone else is doing it. i can't talk because i don't have a license yet (12 days :D), but from the events ive been to, those are some of the types of people that come across to me.

yes that is a good point. i mean, i like drifting, but not to the point where i would say that grip racing is 'wrong'. i enjoy grip racing as much as drift.
