  1. What happens is: you cut both sides of the housing down. You put the short axel in the long side. You get the long axel shortened ($150) to suit your overall length. :)
  2. damn, hopefully nothing serious :P
  3. 11.8, that is pushing it i recon, but anything is possible under the right tune. The power gains would be limited due to the lack of timing you would have to run. Sr20dets are so cheap these days, I'm surprised people still bother with srde+t.
  4. Love the work mate, this think is gonna be a high quality machine. :P Wish we could mod firewalls in qld :hmm:
  5. very cool man, let us know how the tune goes!!
  6. ^^ thanks doug, youre a champ. The coating actually looks that good in real life too, it is seriously cool, a polished alloy type look. I think in the coming 6 months i will become a very regular customer. Forgot to bring my camera today. Have finished all welding, and the whole car is in etch. My old etch used to be grey the new tin is scum green, so it looks a bit patchy. :P Working hard at getting it straight enough to undercoat, getting close, i just have the edges, and the more detailed bits to deal with. Have not heard from PLR yet about my motor, but i forgot to give them my harmonic balancer, so that was a delay for them. looking at ordering my new suge tank this week too. :P
  7. Moved the 30 from the oldies house to my house finally, mmmmm spacious garage!!! Have been doing a fair bit of welding, seams/ rust/ badge holes ect. Also got my stuff back from the heat coating place, so shiny!!! cost $300 still waiting on engine back from the shop, should be next week i recon.
  8. 2005 lancer wagon, but the offset is fwd,
  9. nice and tidy mate. Well done!!
  10. Long term goal is to run a 9 sec pass and still be 100% street legal, the moroso calculator says i need 480 hp at the flywheel to run a 9.9, so that is the immediate aim. After that i need to spend many many moons, attempting to set the car up in a way that will get the power to the ground. Therefore the plan to go C4 auto, ect, ect....
  11. The best bit about putting crappy enamel on your car is that no other kind of paint will stick to it. So if one day you want to do a proper paint job, with acylic or 2 pack, you have to first remove the crappy enamel that you put on it, which is an absolute mission.
  12. My goal is 400rwhp, i don't have the money to spend on my intended head yet, (although the one I'm running is pretty good), so it will be about 370-380 at a guess
  13. Nice find with the cat, you could have spent a while chasing that one. Looking forward to hearing the results!
  14. Have rdo today, so i took my bottom end bits to PLR machine shop. Things i gave them to do: Linish crank Line hoan mains Torque plate bore Balance engine Deck block. Will get it all back in two weeks, and will begin assembly. Will post prices up on here once i pick up the bill. The commo all loaded up. Still waiting on welder, so progress on the shell has halted :bash:
  15. Interesting concept :) :) although i have tried the "sorry officer" line before without success. Yep, they are so annoying, mine are pretty good now, but the hours it took of panel beating, and filing......... i don't even want to start counting :( Good to see you're not discouraged though, keep at it :D The bay will get done when the new motor or C4 goes in, I'm not sure when that will be though. It may be after rego, or during the build, depending on how long this paint takes.
  16. Yeh, a flip down i'm pretty sure. i have one here off an LH torana but it is really bulky. I may have to redesign it a bit when the time comes.
  17. All jap day again, damn, where did the time go! I shall try to have the ke30 ready this year, it will be close, if its complete and not yet rego'ed i may even get a permit.
  18. Ok, i finished cleaning up the door openings yesterday. A bit of seam welding we must have done last time i did a rebuild Got the etch painted, now its all sealed i can stop stressing about it rusting. A bit stuck for something to do this arvo, i really need to cut out and weld the rust patches i found. Only problem is my bro took his mig back, my old mans is broken down, and my pos has no gas yet. :) The oxy is here, but i need permission to use it as the old man is quite protective of his gas. :jamie: oh well, i might pull the fuel tank out
  19. brian crower cams are always good value, they pop up a bit secound hand. Locally in bris there are quite a few cam shops, there is a place called 'camshaft engineering' from memory, they were real cheap. then ivan tighe are a good price too, i know crow cams does all the jap cams now too but they are pricey.
  20. Good reliable little engine, easy to get a bit of extra grunt out of too. Good idea for a budget conversion IMO, not too big, easy fit, and carby.
  21. Mate, i will be there for sure, that is actually my entire goal at this point, i will miss the powerplay, but me and my bro (hr holden), are definately at the august one. This will be awesome, two ke30's :) :jamie:
  22. more bodywork dammit. Have been busy stripping the door openings of the car to bare metal, quite a mission really, if only i had a sandblaster..... Found some small rust patches on the way, one in the front lh cowl vent. :P ..and one tiny one below the front lower hinge on both sides Also got my filler cleaned up, and painted in some etch primer. I have tomorrow off work, so will hopefully finish getting the last of the little paint bits off, and have it all in etch by the arvo :( Then a bit more welding to do i guess :hmm:
  23. Been really getting into this thing lately. Have bought a daily driver commo for $1000, so now i have no need to get my ke25 going until i can be bothered. Have got three of my doors dead straight and in etch. The last one needed extra attention, and is nearly there. The bog is extremely thin. Cut off my old fuel filler, it used to pool water in it. And welded the boot lip back in. Added new filler behind number plate. Rear quarter is straight now as well, the other side is close. A small rust patch in my lower rear end, all fixed now. And todays work.. Sanded off both sills to inspect the condition, a dint to pull out on one side, :y: And a tiny bit of rust to weld up at the front of the passenger side and thats about it so far......
  24. Love your work mate. engine bay is tidy. manifold looks the goods too. Not sure how big you want to go for the injectors, i have a set of 550cc sard, just been cleaned if youre interested.
  25. Crazy bastard! looks absolutely insane :locked:
