It's probably a damaged rubber bush in the steering shaft. Gives a really vague feeling to the steering, like the wheels aren't connected... because they kinda aren't. I know someone who recently sold one cheaper than most KE70s on here...

IIRC TA22s had trailing calipers from factory. The hard line came out forward of the strut and the hose ran back to the caliper. Why swap the struts? Can't you just swap the backing plates? If you're worried about the disks spinning the wrong direction then just keep the hubs on their original side. I think hose routing may cause more drama than expected.
