  1. OMG :blinks: Love your work :D
  2. Water temp is fine - running thermostat etc. The air temperature we are talking about here is sometimes 1 - 2 degrees when I leave in the mornings. So.... its cold :lolcry: There can be (at times) between 5 and 10 degrees air temperature difference between top of the hill and bottom of the hill. If its hotter (ie 40 degrees) the difference is more likely to be higher between the two areas. I left later in the morning yesterday, after daybreak and no misfire at all :bash:
  3. Why work on it and fix it when you can buy another for less than $1000 and put all your shitful parts on it and repeat the process :lolcry: They will run out of them one day
  4. Thanks for the tip :y: In the meantime do you think I would have damaged my engine at all??
  5. No air leaks. Could it have something to do with the air temperature plus the altitude? This might indicate a mixture issue. But then in saying that it runs fine in the afternoons up the hill
  6. Ok lads here's one for you. I installed a new 3K about 6 weeks ago. I replaced the points as they were a bit worn etc and they burnt out within about a week. When this occurred I took the car to a place to get tuned as it was running like a three legged dog anyway. They replaced the points, set timing etc but didn't replace the condensor as they didn't have any in stock. He said to me at the time I 'should' replace the condensor also as that might be why the points burnt out. I forgot to replace said condensor - there goes another set of points. I have since replaced condensor and new set of points, all gapped to factory spec etc. No worries burned away from the car shop feeling very proud. My issue is I have an intermittent misfire but only when the weather is cold. I drive 40 kms to work every day through the hills. When I drive the car to work in the morning (6am) the weather is cold. It makes a misfire noise similar to what it was making when the points were rooted. This makes me think I have a problem with my points. I gapped them a little further apart and the problem went away only slightly more. When I get the car down the hill to the flat the air temperature is quite a bit warmer and the misfire disappears. When I drive the car home in the afternoons it is quite a bit warmer and no misfire at all. The drive home is quite pleasant. Sorry for the big blurb and history lesson but I thought it might help. Any suggestions??
  7. ok well my ex took the camera! Losing it sounded a little better don't you think?
  8. Whitewall tyres have been installed!! While I was putting the front drivers side one on I noticed a nice dent in my front quarter along with some white paint left on my bumper!! Thanks to whoever did that I'm really happy about it :no2: No pics because I can't find my camera. You'll have to look at the first pics and imagine the car with black steelies and whitewalls and a fresh dent. I was planning to paint the car over summer, complete change of colour but since I put these new wheels on the Willow Green has grown on me even more... such a fantastic colour. I can see now why so many people just run these with the 12s and whitewalls - had so many more looks since putting them on
  9. Philbey hit the nail on the head!! I drove around in my modified but clean looking AE71 for months with not even a second glance from the 5-0. It might help I'm a little older than the typical E7 demographic too though :lolcry: I've lost count of how many shitful E7's I've seen on the road in Adelaide
  10. Going well  We gotta organise an old school rolla cruise again soon - the weather is rocking for it and seems like plenty of them out at the moment!!
  11. nice nick! Did u see my new walls?
  12. waste of a good mx73. I love them
  13. I won some stockies with whitewalls on them for $120 on EBAY this week. Thought that was a pretty good win!! I'll run them over the summer, think they have better tyres on them too than I am running currently

Alright who is the prick with the overrated white KE20 that works at Holden??? I only just started bringing mine to work and now I've been shown up already  I parked next to it today  Love it mang, so overrated
  16. I just had a KE2X one recored at one of those Natrad places for $225. 2 year warranty on the new core. They re-used the top and bottom tanks, welded in the new core and gave it a flash black paint job. I wouldn't have paid anymore since there are re-production brand new ones listed for about the same money. $800 is a load of shit - glad you walked from there. KE1X and 2X would have to be roughly the same dimensions wise
  17. Did the big 50km drive to work this morning through the hills  yewwwwwww - this thing has some stick for a 3K  I have to do something about the hole around the shifter though, the road noise combined with a very noisy K50 is going to do my head in :bash: All in good time just happy to be back in it. It is 1000000000x better to drive than with that old tired 3K and toyoglide :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff:
  18. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  19. Nick I moved the 20 so you can park the van behind it!! I demand a pic of the two of them
  20. HAHAHAHA there are just a few on there.... I'm gonna put the fresh one on tonight and take all the others off  Still needs a good polish and clean on the inside
  21. Cheers Nick!!! Loving that exhaust - such a stock looking tip!! When you give it some curry though :o
  22. Hey I just installed a 3K into my KE20 which was previously in a KE30. I don't know which carby I have (I know they are different along the way) but I'll do my best to describe it. It has a spring/diaphragm type thing on the outside of the carb which needs a vacuum line attached to it. The car drives fine it is just stuttery when at cruise so I assume this vacuum connection will sort that out. It drives like it has a vacuum issue. Does anyone know what I connect it up to?? Otherwise I'm going to buy one of those pre-emissions carbys. Damn emissions control!!!
  23. Got it back this afternoon. Goes wicked!!! Definitely pokier than a standard 3K. I'll get some pics when I can get hold of a camera. Gave it a big wash tonight and fitted a proper KE20 mirror I had lying around - no more elephant ear :lolcry:
  24. I'd obviously been working on the car for too long the day I tried to do this. Had another go at it last night, and it's quite simple really. The two black wire (with white stripe) need to be connected together so it will crank. The red wires are for the reverse lights which I will wire up to the manual box when I get a minute. They make no difference to the car cranking. Thanks for your replies guys - certainly helped.
  25. An interesting drive this morning with no exhaust!!! F@@cking Loud!!! Get it back this afternoon, check over to make sure I've done everything right then daily time
