  1. Some of the poor spelling and grammar I see on here astounds me. What is happening to the kids of today?? I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but one thing school (and my parents) did teach me was at least a good grasp of spelling and grammar. It is such a basic tool in life and can get you more places than some other things you learn. Posts like this get me riled up - example only would u lyk to swop yr rolla wiv my commo bt it duznt cum wid thoz rims Laugh if you like but I have seen crap like that here  :hmm: :hmm: ;)
  2. My old man and I were working on my sisters 4AC AE82 of doom when we finally found a ratchet small enough to get into the space and then my dad subsequently let it go and drop. It ended up being behind the headlight and he had to remove the headlight etc to get it back. Funny when he test drove the car he just figured the bastard would fall out on the road and he could pick it up but to no avail  :hmm: :hmm: ;)

It's been sitting there all week.... I was supposed to be taking it home but it's not running right  Might be time for that other motor sooner rather than later
  4. Just buy it, once it's bought and home it's too late. I have done this trick many times - yes you go without special cuddles but the car is worth it!! She will get over it and you still have the car. Winner winner chicken dinner
  5. KE20 centre of stud to centre of stud is approx 95mm I say approx as I did not measure using vernier calipers :bash:
  6. We still are.... damn ugly 380 thank god they stopped making it. Hoping soon they are all written off so we can be excused from having to see such an ugly sight on the roads. As for Holden, I work there. I get the privilege of seeing 400 billion Commodores every day :bash:
  7. Lack of annual roadworthy's will do it for sure Plus the fact we don't need roadworthy's when selling so we can sell any old sack of shit plenty of times Also SA a cheap place to live so people have more cashola for Rolla's :P And we are just cool :no2:

I have it on good authority someone dropped a note on yours a week or so ago
  10. I was just trying to fire you up, and it worked :laff: Wasn't this about an earthquake? :D :( :) :laff: :laff: :laff:
  11. That sort of attitude is what got you banned in the first place Trev so keep it up champ  As for the earthquake I didn't feel it I was too drunk up the river :)
  12. Yep you've got the idea :jamie: When you rotate it by hand you should notice it open and close at each cam point
  13. I have a very basic way of describing it but I'll give it a go. On the middle bit of the dizzy that spins you will notice it is actually square and has a hump on each corner. You need to set the gap for the points at the hump as this is where the points are open for each spark for each cylinder. Turn the motor by hand to get the top of the points to rest on the 'hump' and then gap them. Then rotate it by hand again and you should notice it is opening and closing at that point on all four corners. They need to be .8mm open at this point. You set the points by loosening the screw, putting the feeler gauge in between and then tightening the screw. If you don't have feeler gauge you can use a flat head screwdriver. As long as there is some sort of gap you will get spark. If there is no gap there will be not much chance of a spark. Hope that helps, like I said I don't know the technical terms but I have gapped a few in my time. Also if you haven't replaced the points it will probably help to. Are they pitted on the part where it makes contact? There are two different types of points for these cars depending on the distributor brand. It will be either Bosch or Nippondenso and should be marked somewhere on the side of the dizzy. Or you could just take the points into the shop with you, any good place will know there were two types. ps Points are a product of the devil :jamie:
  14. Matt that's looking real neat, a quality build!!
  15. figures only matter to Autosalon pose queens.... its the seat of the pants that counts and by the sounds of it you are wearing happy pants every time you drive it
  16. Evan does not have any logic
  17. Henry I saw this about a month ago around Mitcham way. Loving it on the 12's with the black rims and flower caps :bash:
  18. If you're girlfriend wouldn't even let you spend $250 on the car how long do you think it will take to complete this project with those plans. Piss the girlfriend off, the amount of poontang you will pick up when the KE70 is finished will be epic :bash: Good luck with the project  :) :)
  19. Although I feel that I am wasting my time with this as you most likely won't buy the car I will attempt to help. When bringing a car to SA they will just do a ID check to make sure the engine no. and chassis no. are correct for how it was most recently registered in VIC. They will also check these details to ensure that neither the motor or the car have been reported as stolen. If the car is not currently registered with the 3K and the CORRECT engine no. for the engine which is in the car now then you WILL have issues registering it in SA. It will most likely then be referred for a full roadworthy check and I can only imagine the sorts of issues you will have there. Being an old car things like bushes etc will get you in trouble at Regency Park. If on the other hand the car is registered with the correct engine and engine no. then it will be smooth sailing. ID check usually takes as long as it takes for them to find the engine no. and chassis no. and check it against the database.
  20. Just out of curiosity what was the final bill? :bash: PM me if you don't want it up here
  21. Cool show us some pics mate :bash:
  22. So do you actually own a Corolla or did you just want to show us how awesome your Laser is :bash: ???
  23. I understand where you are coming from... I had rotaries in my early days of car ownership and it's something I have never really gotten away from. For those who haven't driven one you just wouldn't understand :bash: I can feel them calling me back more and more these days
  24. I agree with everything except the red interior. I'm not normally one to tell people how to do their cars, but you appear to be going with a race/japanese inspired styling? :( I fail to see how a red interior ties in with that. You're better off with a classic black interior with some comfy slightly more modern seats in the front :)
  25. I seem to attract cars without working stereos :( That is all about to change :)
