It might just be me but I would NEVER buy an engine from U Pull It. All that time and effort pulling it out, and they still aren't that cheap. What's the chances it will actually work after all that too :fuzz:

I remember hearing a story years ago about a Nissan dealer quoting like $7000 to do a job on a 300zx due to needing to remove the motor, heads etc. I also recently met a gentleman who 'collects' 300zx's. I think he is delusional. He was also a tosser :lolcry:

I read somewhere that you no longer require this for engineering due to the fact that Super is no longer available. This was for SA so would pay to check.

Unless you have an import or your car is screaming out for an inspection it is simply an vin #/id check I went through with my car from interstate and just a quick check and through. There is a bloody big sign relating to tint there so yes tint is one thing they look for and if its no good sometimes full inspection is requested. My sister in law brought the biggest disgrace of a Barina from Victoria. To be honest I don't know how it survived the trip.... but low and behold they gave it a quick check and a set of SA plates. I drove the thing once and swore never to get in it again even as a passenger. So to the OP, I think you have nothing to worry about :y:

Picking up a KE30 jap diff next week so have now found the last thing I need for stud pattern change. Gotta fix my Laser so I can take the KE20 off the road for a bit :blinks:

If you insure with someone like Shannons though you can get an agreed value for what cars like this are truly worth :yes: To a normal insurer though you're right its "just another old rolla" worth like $750. Worth it for when something like this happens :y:

Around Christmas and Birthday my missus loses all logic. For the other 363 days of the year she is perfectly normal and a great wife!! She gets so excited and worked up about what she is going to get that it always and I mean always ends in disaster. First year I spent like $500, tears = not good enough Next year I spent $1000, tears = not good enough Last year I spent $200 = same reaction. I may as well get her nothing as the reaction would be the same!!! Someone I spoke to said they had the same problem with their partner so they agreed to just not get anything for each other. I have addressed this with her but she says I love the anticipation... I sure as hell don't. Oh and to top it off she buys me the lamest presents ever :( I never complain though because that would be ungrateful :yes: I have been with her for 5 years and she knows I like cars yet never one car related present. FFS I leave hints all round the house, bookmark my favourite ebay items but still no dice. I can't wait for Saturday morning :bash:

What's the market value for a KE30 though... $750??? Better off making some sort of agreement with him for the value of the car and get him to pay you that. It would have to be more than an insurance company would pay for it. Unless of course you have insurance on it for an agreed value :hmm:

My KE20 has a random wire similar to that coming out of the regulator. It wasn't connected to anything on mine either so I used it to power my fuel cut solenoid. I don't know what it is meant to be for but I can tell you it has constant power.

Ryan, you could try Carline Mufflers at Marion. I got a full system there for my AE71 for like $280. Not bad for a full new system and muff etc :dance:

Yeah I have to paint this car and soon.... the paint is getting really thin especially on the roof!! Just a matter of finding the time and money.

Ok so not much been happening here of late. I decided I really need to get these 13 x 7 AP wheels on this car. Originally I wanted to do it with TE27 flares etc but to fill them properly I would probably need some rims that are more like 8" wide or run some stupid ass spacers :wink: . I reckon I can get these on with a slight roll and pull of the guards. Picked up a pair of T18 struts today and then I just need some AE86 P/S arms and a T3 spacer so I can fit them up to the front. This sorts the stud pattern for the front. Then I am either going to continue my hunt for a set of jap 30 axles or redrill the spare pair of axles I have here to 4 x 114.3 stud pattern. All I need then is to get some tyres for my AP's and lower it and then its WIN time :dance: Because I am super fussy it's still going to take a while as I will need new rotors, rebuild calipers, new springs, new leaf set and new wheel bearings. I don't ever do stuff by halves :cool:
