  1. I have heard that you can drill out the holes on the bellhousing to fit a bolt and nut that is more suitable for the size. Someone else on here did it, that way you can always use later type starters which last longer.
  2. Only issue is manual conversions on AE71s are neither easy nor cheap :no2:
  3. In another thread you asked about chrome bolts. There is a KE3 something panelvan at UPI Elizabeth which has the bumpers intact and therefore the chrome bolts. You could also pillage bolts from that series or T18 bumpers if someone has some stuffed bumpers

Standing by my Rolla filling it up at the servo and in rolls a Ford GT40!!! My jaw hit the ground :blinks: The sound, the smell..... this car is not something you see everyday. I'm not sure if it was a replica, an original rebuilt or what but damn it was FINE
  5. Ok so my seats in my AE71 panelvan are shagged. Has anyone tried to fit anything different in these and had any success? I want to use standard rails with as minimal fuss and modification as possible if I can get away with it. Are the panelvan seat rails different to a normal E7? The seats seem different as they are wider and more like an AE86 seat so maybe they share the same rails as an AE86. Can anyone help here with some ideas? I'll take a seat out of my sedan on the weekend and try it in the van but in the meantime if anyone has replaced van seats with something different I would be keen to know.
  6. balls!! That looks amazing
  7. and I get home tonight to open my email and find an acceptance  Panelvan will be making a showing :y:
  8. I got the throttle fixed today with a spring for the return. Finally this car drives like it should! What is it like??? :o     :blinks: :D AWESOME Also located a manual conversion for my sedan
  9. Mr Cushway... I sent an email with an entry for my AE71 panelvan.... just wondered if you received it.
  10. You will need to check the axle code which is on the VIN plate. AE71 vans had S series diffs which were same as local Sprinters (AE86) AE71 wagons however may have same as local AE71 sedan, you will know once you check the plate. You can get tramp rods which stop the tramp, called Caltracs but they are not cheap. How much power we talking??? I have a 4AGE in my AE71 van and it doesn't tramp
  11. No shit hey - since we had a kid I have never had a good night's sleep :blinks: I've given up trying
  12. OMG That looks wild!!! Is there any way you can adapt the original grill just cut down a little?? You know I have one here I will happily donate to the cause  That way you can keep your other one in case you swap back :y: And yes you do work fast... I saw you removing these lights earlier today from a TA22 and by tonight they are already on your 20... not to mention today was damn hot

Spotted RA28GT's super fresh KE20 out at UPI Elizabeth today  Hope you got on alright with that TA22 it was so damn hot out there today
  14. Went out to the Elizabeth one this morning and picked up some goodies. Not much out there though lots of crap. I was devastated to see a perfectly good MX36 Cressida WAGON out there being wrecked. This thing was tidy as and they are rare as... can't believe someone would have sold that to UPI for like $25. I tried to save it from the lot but they want $990 for it and some parts are already missing. Factory manual too with Air Conditioning. If it was more like $500 it would be worth saving as it would need to go through Regency etc so it the costs would add up. Makes me so annoyed to see a rare car like that go to waste for no good reason. :bash: :bash: :bash: That car should be dumped with Crown hubcaps and twin walls cruising up and down the coast all summer with a boatload of mates
  15. I finished polishing it!!!! I can't believe how good it looks its like its a totally different car Some pics (also featuring my KE70 sedan) I'm just gonna polish up the mas and that should do. It's going in Monday to have the throttle spring made up and air con belt installed. I know I should do it myself but I get stuff all time for that kind of stuff
  16. I had the same bolt in kit on mine  Have you got the instruction manual there?? Check the shading on the front bar reo, and also the shading for the bumper section... have fun  Like I said unless they changed the design you're in for some fun :bash:
  17. Don't put that intercooler in today - too freakin hot out there. Also, unless they have improved the design on them you are in for a fair bit of cutting. You are going to be blown away by the difference the cooler makes though. Wayyyy more responsive... comes on boost earlier and harder.... more boost even on lowest setting!! Mine made something like 30 more rwkw just out of the intercooler change over  The thing will be peeling the tyres all day long. :fuzz: Wait til the colder weather hits too
  18. This would be helpful yes. I know it annoyed me when mine didn't work after doing engine conversion :bash:
  19. Finished the drivers side and passenger side tonight. Just the tailgate and roof to go. In this pic you can see it is half finished and look at the difference in paint colour on the unfinished panels!! What a difference it makes!!! It was too dark to take other pics when I finished so more pics tomorrow
  20. Yes I have the yellow sedan and the panelvan
  21. 4 days and its a shell.... I'm going for stolen to order
  22. So the paint is pretty faded on this rig. I thought I would try a quick cheap cut and polish to see if I can bring it up a bit. I only did the door tonight but the difference is rad - can't wait to finish the rest of the car.
  23. Ok well if you do put coilovers in just keep the standard struts and if you get defected swap them back in. An inspection at Regency is sub $200. That's alot of times getting defected and swapping parts before you get to $3000. Jus saying :glare:
  24. This has been covered many times. Do you really want to pay more in engineering than your car is worth?? Only to still get defected on the side of the road by an ego filled Police Officer? Unless you are building a $100,000 exotic then don't worry about it - waste of time and money
  25. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :laff:
