  1. EVAN G!!!! Sell me the crown hubcaps already!!
  2. change the colour of the grill and garnishes to more of a factory colour, it doesn't look right currently
  3. come on Troy give us a date!!!
  4. 1. Paying someone to tune my Crown because I don't have the time to do it. 2. Driving it for a day and then it running like a 3 legged dog towing a caravan. 3. Having to spend time I don't have outside in the dark in the freezing cold tuning it myself so I can get to work tomorrow without it running as stated above. There is $100 down the drain since I should have done it myself in the first place :bash:
  5. reckon I might come past Sunday, Mother's day crap to do
  6. Crown Hubcaps are currently being arranged along with twin white walls
  7. Looks cool - now can you please get back to me regarding the Crown Caps  I love a good MX73. I had one once but it did the usual BHG and I abandoned it. Take good care of it they are excellent comfy cruisers
  8. Some pics with the new mirrors on. Sorry I am no photographer The Crown got a tune up yesterday and I will be driving it from now on. I took it for a good drive last night it is so smooth and quiet. It is no powerhouse, but just effortlessly drives along
  9. I compared both gearboxes side by side and the bellhousing bolt pattern was different so I swapped it. Upon thinking about this further I suspect that I have an early K series box front half, combined with a KE70 shifter extension housing. Why someone would do that is beyond me
  10. My missus would act all ignorant, leave it despite being requested to do something to save it and then act like it was my fault it got damaged and not realise why I am in a c&&t of a mood for a week. So yeah, good missus there!! Need more progress pics
  11. I found that those chrome mirrors on the panelvan (which are KE20 style) have the same screw spacing as most early (ie 70's) Toyotas. I tried a KE20 mirror on my 76 Crown and it fits perfect and suits the era. You will find they fit KE3x etc also. I just need to find a overrated pair and I would whack them on. They are by far the best looking mirror of that era and sure beat the elephant ear black plastic things that KE30's and that came with. I have a friend who works at Toyota seeing if they still can be found new
  12. I'm down with the Crown
  13. check the axle code on the build plate, if it is a F series and IRS you might be in some luck with diff options. If it is F series and all else fails I have one here you can weld up lol
  14. nice - the tint makes the rest of the car just POP
  15. There is such a thing as the landlord allowing you the place to live in peace and to enjoy it how you desire - the correct wording escapes me right now. Enjoy being within reason though of course. I am a landlord myself and can't see an issue. If and when the person moved out though and there was a large oil stain on the driveway I'd ask you to crank some degreaser on it or be prepared for the removal costs to be removed from the bond you paid. Glad you found somewhere to do it, perhaps moving should be on the agenda when your lease is up.
  16. 4k in a ke70 I can't see how it doesn't work to be honest but I wasn't there to see it with my own eyes
  17. Ok I sold a 5 speed box for a KE70 to a fellow member on here who is upgrading from a 4 speed. He says that when his mechanic went to change the boxes over the bolt holes on the 5 speed didn't match up at all places on the motor and the starter motor didn't line up. Most bolt holes line up and it the shaft went into the motor so it has to be a KE70 5 speed. It has the shifter in the right position also. I am thinking that perhaps there is a difference in the sandwich plate that you use betweeen the 4 and 5 speed?? Has anyone else encountered this issue and what was the solution?
  18. HB Torana, slowest thing in the whole world. Bought for $50 - driven all year for year 12 ran on the smell of an oily rag - then sold for $100 You should see how much the things sell for these days!! And this thing was pretty tidy
  19. withdrawn from sale thankyou
  20. Yeah I have seen that too - hence why I work on my own cars now or get mates too and I don't let them test drive  I hate c*&ts driving my car full stop but its a bit hard to not let someone drive it if you are selling it :fuzz:
  21. People that test drive your vehicle which is for sale and they drive it like they stole it!! I had to tell this guy tonight to cease driving in the way he was and if the car is now damaged he will be buying it.... I can only imagine what he would have driven like if I hadn't gone with him. He bought the car and to be honest I'm glad he did because I don't really want it anymore after the rodgering it got at the hands of this guy :bash: He mentioned something about the clutch not having much left in it. I replied saying it won't last long if that is how you will drive it :lolcry: I don't know about the rest of you but when I test drive a car I treat it gently as at the end of the day unless I buy it it is someone else's car.
  22. I bought and fitted some new mirrors for this today. I searched around all the stores and they were the best I could come up with - not 100% happy with them though  Also, while trying to source the flasher can to sort out my indicators I found a wire hanging down with a switch attached to it. Turns out it is the Air Con switch.... I thought it had been removed but it seems it hasn't. How is the Air Con?? Ice cold. SCORE  I'll put up some pics tomorrow of the new mirrors :y:
  23. no shit Nick :y: I saw this today in the flesh - ten thousand times better than in photos they just don't do this thing justice
  24. YES yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes Love it, love the plans, love the car
