I don't know what surprises me more in here - the fact that Gavclassic started this slightly controversial topic or the fact that the guy above me honestly thinks a $250 KE10 is a good idea. I have owned a $3500 KE11 and it was worth every cent. Hence I sold it for the same money. I won't repeat what Gav has said, it is all true. I would buy a car off of Gav blindfolded, because I know it would be THAT good :dance:

I'm with Philbey,my last wheel alignment was $60. Cheaper than paying your mate a carton to do it then having to pay another $60 to get it done properly

If anyone knows where to get wide steelies in 4 x 100 I would love to know. I have googled and googled and googled some more and nothing turns up. That one there looks like its running more than 4 stud so must have some spacers or some shit. Or This is kind of my favourite for the moment. Simple clean lines but stylish. With the exception of the black guard which has aids... A penny for your thoughts???

I'm thinking of a style something along the lines of this car I've located the roof racks, I just need the wheels and some carbon fibre look vinyl for the bonnet. Oh and some low. I'm trying to decide between wide white steelies or a low offset alloy wheel. I'm currently looking into these wheels - TIGHT fitment!! That car is too low or something and I think they need a white centre against the red car. Don't know yet!

from my googling I found a KE70 has a tow rating of 750kg. Small tinny would be fine or small trailer etc

I figured I had to put up with the colour since the only SX's I have seen are either red or white. I wasn't even looking for one when I bought it anyway - it was one of those cars you HAVE to buy just because it is so good.

Spotted some Corolla deals going down across the road from me today.... I'll leave it to the respective owners to share the news but this is going to be WICKED :dance:

My delivery docket states colour as Le Mans Red. There is a bit of fading on the bonnet and roof, which I feel a light buff will get rid of. For a 20 year old red car I reckon it has faired well.

I just picked up an AE93 SX. It's done 220,xxx ks, serviced every time on time. Had all major service items replaced recently, was last owned by an 82 year old lady. In my opinion it drives every bit like its done more like 150,xxx ks. I asked a mate who has had three of these for his pointers on where to look and he said: 1. Rust around windscreen and in the hatch area 2. Leaky water pump 3. Bad synchro 2nd and 3rd 4. Chalky brittle plastics The only thing I could find on this one was the chalky brittle plastics. But I think this happened on all of them no matter what the owner does/did. My only advice with something like this (as controversial as this might be) is don't buy one from a kid. Kids would buy these things, thrash the shit out of them, no servicing etc and then sell it on here. Mine is one of those cars that you rarely find in a 20 year old car. Awesome as a daily. Cold air con - comfy and doesn't use much petrol.

People in the Cars for Sale area continually wanting to swap. Most of the time wanting to swap crap. Guess what if you can't sell it and you want to swap it, why on earth would the other person want to swap for it?? Also they generally want to swap for something which is worth twice as much as what they have. Again, why would someone do that?? It shouldn't annoy me so much but this last week or so it has really GRINDED MY GEARS!!! The forum rules should be changed so that if someone does not nominate that they are looking to swap then the person who offers gets a warning, then repeated attempts get hit with the ban stick. Don't people have cash anymore????

Oh ok. Well I originally had those plates before Dale and passed them on to him with the car. Whilst they were in my custody I only got pulled over once and defected by some c0ck because the boost gauge was visible outside the vehicle :( so I don't know what the Police Officer was on about. And yeah Dale got defected like 5 times so no wonder he took the plates off. I figured he still had my old car because I only saw him driving it a few weeks ago.

A bit of googling reveals the condition this vehicle was in before the previous owner to you got to it Thing was near overrated!! Some people deserve to be tied up and shot! Hope you can restore this vehicle to its former glory mate. You're already doing a fantastic job

Pearl White Chaser??? Did he buy it from a guy called Dale?? Maybe the plates were put on another Chaser This makes me LOL I was the originator of that plate idea and find it quite funny that they suffered that fate. I never had any trouble while I had them.

I thought calling a Chaser a Camry was a good idea, so I got the number plates CAMRY People thought this was strange until they were left dumbfounded by a rather fast Camry. The next owner kept the plates on but because he was such a douchebag the plates became famous for all the wrong reasons and he had to take them off.
