  1. Start with a 5 speed as it is cheap and easy to do. I have a 5 speed in my KE11 with 3K and it comfortably sits on 110 km/h with more left in it  I wouldn't know the revs though as there is no tacho.
  2. My mate and I shared a Volvo once, yeah it was wild and we loved it but damn the thirst for fuel was bad
  3. Yeah on reading it again it was a bit harsh. New baby = no sleep  Mate you probably need to look into some other options for the cooling system, if you need any help you can PM me and I can tell you the parts I used. Mine worked flawlessly and was a bit tidier in the engine bay :y: Smeetsy, better?? :hmm:
  4. Mine did this, check your points :S
  5. I don't even want to think about all the things wrong with that 20V installation. Like Sam said that cooling system leaves a little to be desired and you could have had a much cleaner, neat install with a few custom parts off here. Prob cheaper than that big arse pipe you have running all the way from the back to the front. I wonder how effective that will really be being so long :S

Funny you should say that because one day I did a count on that street and there were no less than 6 neat Corollas parked on it. We are taking over biatch :lolcry:

I spotted Mitch yesterday morning on Unley Road. I was the guy in the grey Mazda who tooted and gave you the thumbs up. 20 is looking good mate, and it sounds good too :lolcry:
  8. I would like to announce the latest addition to my family, a beautiful baby girl. Abigail Rose was born yesterday at 1:48 pm, weighing in at just over 7 pounds and 47 cm long. Mum was in labour for just over 4 hours, which is pretty good apparently for a first baby. Mum and baby very healthy and happy :) I am going in again this morning to see them and will get some more happy snaps and put some up on here. I left there late last night when visiting hours closed and plan to be back there this morning as soon as they open again. Now, time to get cracking on installing the baby seat in the KE11 :D
  9. No sh1t. I couldn't agree more as this is not the first time I have pissed around with stupid points in K engines :P I hate points :) I will have to investigate the options relating to electronic dizzy :)

Oh my god, I wish I was there in the KE11 my wife's olds live across the road from Nick. It would have been like an old school reunion of sorts :)
  11. Hey Wol it's all good I think the fact I started driving it more regularly brought about some issues that were hiding. After I changed the ignition coil I then checked the points and they were pitted pretty bad. Since I changed the points she has been all sweet again so I prob didn't need the ignition coil after all. I am going to give her a service soon and just change everything I got no hard feeling against you Wol, cars have their own minds at times and like you said she misses you I can't wait to see your orange one out and about, colour is wicked :)
  12. Well I still have some ignition issues. I replaced the coil, then the points, gapped them etc and the random shutting off has stopped but it is becoming a bastard to cold start. I adjusted the choke and am trying to get more charge into the battery to see if that will fix it. I am at the stage of replacing everything though, leads, plugs etc and getting it tuned up.
  13. Whilst I agree with what you are saying Red, the conduct of some sellers in SA lately leaves alot to be desired. This is why people are choosing to arc up and at times I wouldn't blame them. It shits me to tears seeing cars advertised for sale on here for a reasonable price, being sold within a day, only to be re-advertised later that week by the new buyer for more. People take the bargains out of the world and then think because they are selling it on a forum for enthusiasts it will be suddenly worth more. The underlying problem here is people will pay the money :bash: I witnessed one car that was bought on here for $450 with so much rust it was like swiss cheese, then bogged and sold for $1450. The person even had a rides thread showing how crap the car was, I mean how hard is it to go through someones topics history and see how the car started. You sure as hell wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole then, although sadly some members are so desperate they probably still would. Anyway, I digress. The only way to maturely stop the bull crap above is to not support it. You can't possibly want a car that much that you are willing to support such behaviour. I know that I would not and have not ever promoted any profiteering on here for cars unless there is some substantial change to the part or vehicle. Also, to the people that do this, you are robbing the forum owners so shame on you at least share some of the profit with the place that is allowing you to advertise free of charge :jamie: Otherwise I say take your business elsewhere. Remember people, stop supporting this behaviour and it will stop. Don't post and whinge in a thread making more work for the mods. It is funny because most of the activity relating to this is for KE70's, seriously even though I have had one they are not worth throwing good money into profit to people for
  14. There is a difference between taking pride in your ride and just plain being a wanker. I know there is no room for emotion, or assessing attitude etc when defecting a car as the rules are (sometimes, not often) clear. If it were based on emotion and attitude then Troy would never have had any issue as he is a chilled guy. Chin up Troy, that car is clearly worth the effort of clearing the defect. Though, if you do ever think of parting ways with some of your parts you know they would go well on my KE11 :jamie:
  15. I just think it's hilarious that Lowndes changed to Ford cos he had a lala that they wouldn't let him drive his Escort or Cortina or whatever it is. Now he is stuck back at Holden's  Suck a fat one you can't drive anyway :jamie:
  16. Ignition coil replaced and now we have go action, hope the weather on the weekend is good for cruising :jamie:
  17. Sucks to hear Troy I thought they would have had more respect for your old girl and let it fly :bash: I am surprised though it lasted this long  If you need to borrow some 12 inch rims and tyres to go through you can borrow mine no worries. I was checking some websites the other day, there doesn't appear to be any track or height measurements listed for these old girls so I don't know how he came to that conclusion  Although there is the 100 mm clearance rule combined with not making track wider than 26mm wider than original factory specifications.I am sure your wheels aren't more than 26 mm wider than factory :jamie: If you need any help let us know :)

I'll be driving my KE11 down South for at least the next few weeks until I finish at this job
  19. What was the vacuum diaphragm causing it to do?? Not run or??
  20. Well the KE found it's way home on the back of a truck last night. Not exactly sure what's wrong yet, first thoughts were fuel pump but that is working fine. It will start and run for a while, like 10 minutes then just suddenly turn off. I am thinking ignition coil fails once it gets warm or something. Stupid thing fired up first go as soon as it rolled off the truck at my place after being towed :) Massive recommendation to Grant from City Wide Towing, he came out in no time at all and as usual charges a very reasonable rate :y: Absolute champ
  21. When I was talking to you Sunday I did ask about this whether the sender was shonky?? :)
  22. Yes but if you did that look to your wagon it would be hotter!! I would have to rub myself naked all over it :) Ok that's just getting scary now, but yeah :y:
  23. I like to be different so that is part of it, and if I can pull it off I think it will look rad. Also have much man love for Troy's car and would like a similar theme but obviously not to the extent of the over fenders etc as I am not dumb enough to think they will suit the body shape of the KE1X. There are plenty of hurdles to jump to get a look like that, including doing something similar to the suspension set-up he has. I don't think I would run rims like that full time though as I have a feeling SAPOL would create quite the affection for giving me yellow racing stickers :)
  24. Something like this will do, but still in the lemon colour of course :)
  25. Well Whiteline still stock the swaybar so that is one box ticked :)
