I was going to put something up about this but you beat me to it. I live directly on the race track so can sit on my front porch and watch it again like I did last year. If anyone wants to join I can arrange something, maybe put on the BBQ, some drinks etc and watch the festivities. Let me know here :lolcry:

M3Low'S 3Rd Ke70!!! As Well As Turbocharged Mx83
LukeAE71 replied to M3LOW's topic in Rollaclub Rides
The lack of passenger side mirror tells me it is a KE70 straight off the bat. Nice car David but this must have as much if not more rust than the last one :lolcry: -
Cruise/meet This Friday 18th Harbour Town Maccas 7:30pm
LukeAE71 replied to Ae71Rola's topic in The Event Archive
I wouldn't mind a Friday night thing, just for a little while and a bit of a cruise afterwards :lolcry: -
Is that for the full set?? Where?? I got a quote for widening and changing offset and it was around $150 per wheel :jamie: $600 for a set of steelies isn't exactly what you would call good value I don't think :hmm:

I would have said a Chaser, but they are not that big on the inside. I had one so I should know. Also when it is for family cheapness and reliability is where it's at so you want something you can put on LPG. As much as it pains me to say it, we get ex company VZ Commodores here for like $6K with less than 100K Kms on them so I would buy one purely because they are so cheap. What else can you buy that is late model and big for that kind of money? Nothing!!!!! We have a baby girl on the way, due in about 6 weeks and when it is just me and her, she will be rolling in my Corolla. For other times where we won't all fit then I guess she will have to get Holden germs in the Commodore.

Thankyou kind sir :jamie:

There are a few issues with it which I have already noticed prior. The T18 bar does not follow the lines of the front of the car like it does on a KE70 flat front. I thought to counter this you could put a piece of black rubber stripping on the underneath to cover the panel gap for when you look from above. Also, you either need to use the T18 indicators or find a new place to mount your old indicators, like further down in the stone tray. At the moment I need a new set of T18 indicators as the ones I have are shagged and can't find any anywhere.

There was a pair for sale a while ago, but really they came on overseas slantys so your chances are pretty slim. I have a pair of T18 bars at home which I thought you could cut the ends off of and put the plastic end caps off another set of slanty bumpers to make something very similar to this look. I am still going to try it and will post up how it looks. I was thinking of doing a similar thing with the rear bar on my sedan too, using the plastic end caps cut up.

I too have thought about this as a change. The only thing is, I think they cheapen the look of the car a little. I know it makes it look more stock and clean but when you compare to what you had on there before. What was the cost of having that done and where? I have a set of 14" Corona Steelies which I wanna get done. Also, what type of Mitsubishi has 15 inch steels? I could then have a double use for my 15" Adrenalins if I can find some 15" rims other than my Sigma Turbos :jamie:

I'm in, but only if there is a decent turnout and some E7's. :jamie:

My father in law continually gave me shit for mine, mainly when it was off the road and I was working on it, but it has continued since. It wasn't until he realised that - a. I did the majority of the build myself b. It has not broken down once since being back on the road (I have prob jinxed myself here) c. His son's car broke down and I fixed it for him d. I showed him the number of notes stashed in the glovebox from people trying to buy it from me, at least half a dozen e. His wife's car had something wrong with it and I fixed it f. I took it on a 700km road trip and it was faultless I could go on, but needless to say he has STFU up about it :jamie:

Careful son, Australia might sue you for defamation :jamie: :hmm:

So when will the final results and vote be decided. I don't want to be cocky and go and get a photoshoot done with someone with some photo skills only to find out that my car is not in.

My Dad has always said if someone is going to cause an accident you are better to hit them than avoid them and hit someone/something else as like you say they could deny any involvement. This could also result in more harm to you or your car and its hard to know what to do in that split second you get to react :worship:

A 20 volt you say?? Electric Car?? The plot thickens on this car :worship: Well the op hasn't been back here for a while so not much to worry about I guess :y:

Ask yourself the following things? 1. What do you think the market value is for a KE Corolla, what $750? 2. If the insurer is not a specialist insurer you will only get that, you will not get what it might be worth based on its good condition. 3. Draw up an agreement with him at $200 per payment 4. You only need to get four payments out of him and you are ahead of what you would have got from insurance, so PROFIT!!! And you get to keep your car. I wouldn't necessarily agree with private agreements because really it is not worth the paper it is written on so you are going to have to make a judgement call as to whether you think he is legit. Just my 2 cents, not that they are a coin anymore :worship: Plenty of people will give you advice, so you need to take it all in and decide what is right for you I had a situation where a lady ran into the back of my car while my wife was driving. The other driver (not my wife) ran a red light so she was clearly in the wrong. I wanted choice of repairer which I figured I wouldn't get through her insurance so I gave her 1 day to come up with the money for the repairs or I was going to report it to the police (meaning a possible fine for running the red light) and also a mark on her insurance. She came up with the $1K within a day and all was settled and I arranged the repairs privately. Her car had barely a scratch on it so she didn't worry about it. /rant

You could get custom made ones from Industrials in Adelaide. Only thing is you need short stroke shocks to go with it, and by the time you add all that up you are into coilover territory money wise.

I hope you dropped the motor right there and then and said f%ck you you can go put it somewhere :y: :worship:

Nice :worship: I have to say though I really don't like the hi-top wagons. From what I know though AE71 wagons were all hi-tops. Why on earth?? What was the hi-top for?

I am quite interested in this kind of thing. What sort of budget would you say it has cost you?? :worship:
-
You are correct, but you only have to pay wrecker value for a car like this to buy it back, which would probably be about $50 for scrap given the metal price at the moment. You would get market value on your payout, so then minus the wreck value to buy it back and that's what you get for it :worship:

I am guessing that thing was prepared for drift prac?? I really hope you didn't drive it on the road too much, wouldn't last long that's for sure. I couldn't believe how loud it was, I gave mine heaps and couldn't even hear anything over the sound of the beige machine :y: :worship:

I can organise one if you like but you might be best to start a thread calling for active members or something! There does not appear to be that many ACTIVE people in SA at the moment, or any that really want to cruise. If there is enough demand then yes we should all get together for a shindig. The weather has been heaps nice these last few weekends on at least one of the days (Sat/Sun) anyway. PS - the Lobethal Grand Carnival is coming up in a few weeks - October Long Weekend - and I happen to live right on the designated track for it, sitting on my verandah getting drunk watching like last year FTW
