I thought this was spotted - not have you spotted? I keep spotting a little yellow KE70 flat front in Crafers. I went up to Mount Lofty last night thinking you would follow but you waited for me at the bottom again. Sorry I didn't stop I had to pick up the lady :P
  3. oh and one last thing - google - xt130 brake upgrade You will find plenty from all sorts of sites about this upgrade. It doesn't appear to be that hard but a few special things required to be done. :P
  4. I'm working on this conversion at the moment for mine. At this stage from my research here and on Toymods it only appears you need to change the strut tops to the ones you already have. If you use all the parts, strut, LCA, brakes and steering arms, you will get bigger brakes, a bit of camber and it all works. A good cheap upgrade in my opinion. You only need to upgrade master cylinder. Check Silverra23's build thread he has covered this in detail :P
  5. I think in the case of speeding fines when you sign the stat dec you actually have to nominate the other driver. You can't just say it wasn't you and that is the end of it. I could be wrong however, you sir need to get some advice from the place that issued the fine :P
  6. I'm pretty sure T18 bolt straight in, whereas AE86 require you to use AE86 steering arms and possibly lower control arms too. pssst - there is a T18 at U Pull It Lonsdale and last time I was there Sunday it had the struts - might be an option :P

I wouldn't classify the square ST141 shape as cool, but as they are rear wheel drive and KE70's are sold out they seem to be the new cool :P
  8. Unfortunately the strut insert diameter for AE71 is unlike AE86 or T18 etc so there are no short stroke options for this strut. Best to change to T18 or AE86 struts and then your options will be much better :P I ran into the same problem with mine :lolcry:
  9. KE70 cable is fine and you can just steal one from a self serve wrecker, 2 ins to put in problem solved :lolcry:

Spotted KE30 driver in Charleston on Saturday, gave you a beep and wave :P Also spotted Corona in Inglewood with fender mirrors, etc. Corona's cool now ey :lolcry:
  11. Ok meet at Burnside shopping centre car park at 9:30 pm. Top carpark on top of the underground bit. You will need to text me to confirm you are coming. If I get no texts I will not be turning up to the meet point and no I cannot get on the net again to confirm. This probably won't work well but will see what happens.
  12. I read on Toymods you can just use the whole T18 shaft on a K box and it will work. Otherwise yes the T18 rear shaft and KE front half shaft together will work. Why you would want to upgrade to a T series with 4K is beyond me :D I just got a T series from U Pull It for $100, sucked in to all the kents selling and buying these things for $200. It was just sitting there ripe for the picking, I think some people are just too lazy to pull them out :D
  13. If you're thinking something along the lines of a TA22 Celica then no the diff does not fit my mate tried it and it does not work.
  14. weee clunk clunk clunk clunk, turn corner, hop hop hop, whine whine whine Honestly don't know why you would bother but hey :D I had one and it was so damn annoying :D
  15. Ok so there was not much notice for anything last night.... I am keen for tonight though, will update with a meet point and time later on. It will probably be around 9:30 pm leave though :D No race either, just a bit of a catch up and drive in the hills. Hopefully the rain stays away
  16. Hey I'm bored, the weather is good and feel like going for a hills drive of some description. If anyone is keen post in here or pm or msg on 0434 326 343 Maybe go tomorrow- Friday Night leaving from the bottom of hills near Burnside or something. No posing for long periods at car parks, just driving :D
  17. Thanks again for more info. By cheap I am thinking it would be cheaper than say me finding AE86 struts, and doing the FC brake upgrade. T130 parts are also easier to find and don't have Takumi Tax. Thanks for your willingness to share your ideas, I just subscribed to this thread :D
  18. Thanks for the info, sorry to continue to ask but why the upgrade to the Peugeot disc? Is it vented as opposed to the RT132 one being solid or something. I am interested in this combination for mine just to do the odd practice day, nothing too serious but it does seem cheaper than some of the other upgrades around
  19. What is your opinion of the XT130 brakes in this kind of application? Or have you not had a chance to give them a real hard time yet??
  20. I would be interested to know if that KE70 with the 7K in it is still going or not... there does not appear to be any follow up to the story :D
  21. They run to the left on a KE, sounds like it is too long. Is it adjustable?? Sounds like you need it to be :hmm: I am hoping it is from the same model :)
  22. also have you got the firing order round the right way with the leads :hmm:
  23. plus one, or just put it next to a screwdriver or something while cranking, any spark there?? Also throw some petty down the carb while cranking if you have spark, that should get it going and then you must have a fuel issue
  24. I am quite interested in this conversion. Thanks for the write up. One question though do you need to convert to coilover type setup? Do you know if the XT130 strut tops would bolt up to the KE strut tower? I was thinking of doing this conversion but just running a shock and spring combination as it will be a little cheaper than converting to coilover setup. I wonder if you just need to use the original KE/AE strut top bolted onto the spring/shock combo and it will work. I am thinking with new shocks and springs etc this conversion could be done for less than $500. What is your opinion of the brakes so far and what sort of thing are you using them for? i.e race, grip days or just general street with a bit of spirited driving. What is your opinion on fade etc. :hmm:
  25. Yes but the XT130's are a twin pot caliper so I would say they are better than the JDM 86 struts. Also read up yesterday on doing a disc brake conversion to the T series rear end, so that will happen before it gets installed. XT130 parts if I find them myself at U Pull It are going to be cheaper. I haven't seen many JDM notchbacks or anything 86 for that matter just sitting at UPI for me to pillage :hmm: Either way more research is required. I will be going for 4.55:1 or higher as that will keep the revs up in the happy range :)
