  1. So who from here is going to this... It will be epic :)
  2. I reckon I saw your mates car the other day at the Blackwood roundabout. It was around 5:30 ish on a weeknight I was on my way home from work. I was driving the Silver AE71 and I tried (and failed) to give it a bit of stick after I seen him :)
  3. I agree with you about Sundays as a family day.... :P Saturday afternoons and mornings can be hard due to people working Saturdays and also club sports etc. Saturday night is looking best :)
  4. You obviously haven't encountered that person's prices yet..... A full set of bumpers for twice what people would pay for a KE70, tchiyeah right :)
  5. A couple of things to ponder: 1. Where would you get the end caps if you did decide to take that option? They were on panelvans, etc but most you see are thrashed out and faded. 2. I have seen another KE70 where the person went to the extent of having the guard shaped to match the TE72 bars.. this would negate your 'budget' idea though as it is required both front and rear of vehicle. The front guards wouldn't be so hard but reshaping the rear would be expensive I assume. Food for thought. Option 2 is best in my opinion and looks the best :)
  6. I would like to make a suggestion: Could the meets please be on a Saturday or Sunday? I drive about 500k's a week to and from work and last thing on a Friday all I want to do is go home and crack open a bourbon and sit on the couch. By Saturday morning I am refreshed and ready to go again and Saturday nights am looking for something to do. I know everyone works different jobs etc but mine is a 9-5 Monday to Friday thing and by Friday I'm shagged :)
  7. lol thanks Ben. You know if you need any help converting your wagon to 20V I am more than happy to offer some assistance. I reckon if you have all the parts you could do it in a weekend, then send it off to be wired and tuned :P
  8. Thankyou kind sir :y: Did you find the centre console from the auto then fits over?? Mine does not however in your pic that looks like an auto centre console
  9. I was going to ask what happened as I read your sig... But now I know :y: Good luck with this thing, seems you are growing quite the love for 4k powered rollas :y: It is my opinion that clean wagons are getting hard to find as they seem to deteriorate quicker than their sedan relatives. This is clean enough for a wagon and a good thing to daily in. Just don't go too overboard with wheels etc otherwise you will be visiting defect city again  I will have to come over and take you in my rolla so you can be converted to 4AGE goodness :y:
  10. I will look this up. I will also take pics on the weekend for future reference :y:
  11. Would you believe he has two of those wagons.... The one he uses as a daily is for sale but I think you will need deep pockets. That thing is pretty clean and low k's just with a bit of rust from sitting around for a while. It still has the plastic on the rear door trims. Those things are hard to find these days :y: I love that he was showing you pics of my car he must have been impressed. I go past his work everyday and when I'm in the rolla I give it stick :y: Dan is a great bloke and always up for a chat bout rollas
  12. Stopping is not that great. I am sure the brakes are ok for a few hard corners but when you come into a corner at 80 or so and you put your foot down the combination of standard suspension and brakes does not inspire much confidence at all. It just feels like you are not going to make the corner.... I am used to cars that have brakes to match their performance so maybe that is my problem. Either way I am not pushing it until I have upgraded the brakes and suspension. I am careful in that way, some would say soft but I prefer careful :)
  13. Ah so you are the girl I keep seeing driving this thing. Hope you don't mind me saying you are a cutie :) You and your KE20 look good together :)
  14. Already enjoying the driving part, I absolutely love it :) Just tidying up little bits now :)
  15. I had a JDM 86 Shifter with rubber boot and that still did not cover the hole :) I have now reverted to a ADM shifter as it has the two rubber boots and metal ring surround to hold it all down. Without running a centre console these two boots will still look decent. The biggest issue is that (like you stated) the auto hole is longer and skinnier so there are going to be exposed parts at the front and back of the rubber boot. I obtained all the right parts and the bolts from the wreckers, came home and to my disappointment it didn't work. I can't believe there are so many subtle differences between the manual and auto models. It makes me wish I started with a manual. I have located a cordless angle grinder from a mate so I am going to hack the shit out of a manual car at U Pull It and then when I get it home cut it down to the right size required and get someone to weld it in. I really want it to be as factory as possible. I also have to find a damn plastic centre console in dark blue which is also different for the auto. grrrr :)
  16. I thought of this idea - that is welding in a panel from a manual version. I think that is the best option and there are a few out at U Pull It. Having the same difficulty with the battery angle grinder, I can't seem to find where you can rent them and the cheapest you can buy one for is about $350. My induction noise from the 20V also cancels out the road noise but when you are travelling at 60 it is quiet except you can hear the whine from the tailshaft, gearbox, etc. I am fussy I know but as this is meant to be a nice daily I would like if it had some creature comforts :) EDIT: I found someone to lend me a portable angle grinder, woot off to U Pull It I go :)
  17. The clutch master cylinder that I got second hand with my pedalbox decided to spring a leak. I noticed the leak while I was under the dash locating a fuse for the interior light. Would you believe that there is another fuse box located under the kick panel??? Why?? Luckily I had a spare master cylinder from a trip I made to U Pull It a couple weeks ago so I replaced it straight away. Whilst doing this I discovered another benefit of having a JDM T50. The slave cylinder is located in such a position that you can reach in and undo the bleed nipple from in the engine bay and no need to get under the car. All other ones I have done you have to get under the car for!! Clutch system all bled up now with the assistance of the wife doing the pedal pumping. Clutch actually feels much better to use now so the old one must have been screwed right from the moment I put it in.
  18. Doesn't the whining and road noise drive you bonkers :) I am going to have a better look at it on the weekend and I'll post up what I come up with :)
  19. When I'm down your way I'll give you a holler.... So far I haven't been that way. :)
  20. This topic goes for both AE71 and KE70, prob more common to change to manual in AE71 though. When changing a xE7x from auto to manual… I notice that when you get the manual shifter the rubber boots that go with it do not bolt straight up to the trans tunnel where they would on a manual model. I understand plenty of people would have had the same problem so what are some solutions to this issue? I am trying to get my car as quiet as possible on the inside so look forward to any suggestions.
  21. I took a fellow Rollaclub member out in this car last night and finally drove it with a bit of fury Um Yeah It is quick.... that is all :)
