  1. Also no point being different if the end result is still gay :P There is a reason why people do certain conversions - because they work. There is a reason people don't do certain other conversions - because they don't work/or are too expensive. I saw a S2000 for sale for $33k, prob cheaper to buy that than do this conversion.
  2. I'm going to have to agree with Hiro here.... You have some issues :P There is no point acting tough stating your love for your car as that will gain you no extra respect around here really. Listen to what people are telling you in here, most of them have all done conversions before and know what you are up against. :P

    AEMoz on here
  4. They are just a cheap set that are normally used on a weber carbs I think. I got them as a package with some other stuff and used them in the meantime while I waited for a proper T3 setup to come up for sale. The ones above came up so I bought em. Seriously you can have them for like $20 if you want them, as soon as I get the other ones on there.
  5. You only need to see this pic to notice the potential hotness of a KE70
  6. Just bought me some of these They should arrive in a few days so will fit them. They should sound insane!!! Still a few minor issues with the car that are being sorted so it really hasn't had a decent drive yet but slowly working through them. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to cruise round in it no worries at all. After all this hard work and time it will pay to make sure everything is 110% before really sinking the boot in

    Spotted

Brown KE55 Sedan driving on Main South Road about 20 minutes ago. It was dumped to the ground, with trim rings and white walls. Looked really sweet
  8. It will be livable (for want of a better word) if you are only using as a track hack. I used mine on the street and at any sort of low speed turning it was unbearable. It just got heavier and heavier the slower you went. There are plenty of options other than S13 front suspension, and don't just say you are doing it for the coilovers. There are enough coilovers out there these days you are bound to be able to pick up some second hand AE86 ones for the front and it won't muck up the geometry or the steering feel.
  9. Sorry Matt didn't see this til it was too late. Come to the cruise this Sunday it will be it's first big outing
  10. Good idea... I don't have the moolah for it but you should get much more for the motor than you will for it in that car
  11. Do some searching around about fuel set-ups. There is a good write up and diagram in the FAQ. I just did my fuel setup and used a Facet Lift Pump and a Bosch (VL) EFI Pump. You will need both lift and efi pumps as you were originally carby car. You will also need a surge tank. All I can say with regard to prices of fuel pumps really shop around they can be had cheap.
  12. I pretty much agree with what everyone else has said. It will be a mountain of a job putting this into that chassis with a FWD setup. Other than the questions Redwarf has put to you, think about these: 1. Do you really really like the car 2. Are you prepared to spend upwards of $10,000 (prob more) on this car and will you still really really like it when you have? In my opinion if and when you commit to an engine conversion you really have to have sat down and made a budget, double it and then some and really consider if it is worth it in the particular car. I like all Corolla's but at the end of the day it is still an AE82 Seca that probably won't get any looks from anyone, nor will anyone probably pay attention when you drive it even though it has that motor in it. Yes you build cars for your own enjoyment but if noone else likes it it is not as enjoyable.
  13. Update - Went to mechanic yesterday and they have almost finished what they need to do with it. He said he wouldn't have the exhaust done by Friday (today) so I booked it in to the exhaust place next door. He was ok with this as he has too much work on and trying to get his car ready for Drift Supercup this weekend at Mallala also. The exhaust will be done either this afternoon or tomorrow morning so I will be picking the car up by tomorrow either way. I can't wait I will be able to drive it this weekend. 6 months of hard slog, money and patience and I will finally be driving it tomorrow :D :fuzz:   F%$king cannot wait :sob: :no2:
  14. well a miracle is occurring right now called working on my car, which means I could be picking it up tonight. Alas, I will not be coming as I want to be 100% that everything is ok with it before I sink the boot in. I am sure you can understand :D :fuzz:
  15. + 1 on what Witzl said, enough people have done this conversion now that engine mounts are readily available. Read as many build threads as you can to get an idea of what works and what doesn't. What state are you in?? How much money do you have? (serious question) This build will cost you about $10K at least so be prepared. *waits for everyone else to tell me it can be done cheaper* S13 suspension does not work, makes steering heavier than anything I have driven one I should know. Basically you need to investigate costs and whether you think it will be worth it. An S13 will be a cheaper proposition in the long run and they are easier to slide. If you are not concerned with rego an S13 ready to drift can be had for $6K ready to roll on the track. Really depends what you want....
  16. EDIT: never mind
  17. Guys don't let this thread go to shit, it is an epic car, the guy has style that is all :) This was never about the best KE20, just whether this one would look good with flares and it does :y:
  18. If you use this wonderful invention called the telephone they will tell you :y:
  19. Nice More pics of the starlet too thanks we don't get them here and we all love them. :y:
  20. Hey, I saw this car on the KE70 cruise a little while back. Wanted to ask you where you got the fake grass stuff for the rear of the van and how much?? I am interested in doing this to my sedan boot. So yeah, where and how much :y:
  21. You shouldn't have been driving up there in the wet (or anywhere for that matter) with inadequate tyres. Can't afford new ones, don't drive it until you can. :y: You grind my gears!!! I once had a mate like you, shit would always happen to him because he was careless and just did plain old dodgy stuff. He was constantly attracting shit things to happen to him. Wherever he went, shit followed. Until he got his act together then it stopped following him..... Think about it, what makes all this stuff happen to you?? Or maybe it is just a massive oversized does of karma, which I do not believe in anyway!!
  22. Sam, I agree and this is why I asked the question. I wonder how much room is in there????
  23. Cool I will have to get him to do some a bit wider for mine next time. I thought you couldn't do them until the tyres had a few k's on them or is this just crap? I am getting new tyres so need new walls.
  24. Again, for the fourteenth time this thing is awesome!!!! Love the whitewalls, and the new shots out in the sun. :) Have you driven it much yet on the streets?? Got much more attention than normal from people?? :y: Also, those walls look quite wide, who does them that wide? I need some new wider ones for my tyres and in SA also. :y:
