  1. Just read your EOI so thought I would quote myself and say told you so :)
  2. Yes or just roll all your questions into the one topic. You do not really need a separate topic for each area of your car. :y: If you have any questions are reading that, come back to us :)
  3. I'm pretty emo that my car still isn't finished so I will give it a miss. Looks like not too many others are keen either, how about you post one up with say 2 - 3 weeks notice to give people some time to get ready. Mine prob still won't be ready by then anyway :) :y:
  4. You really don't want to do much thinking or searching yourself hey?? I found a RN41 Diff at Just Wrecking Toyotas a while ago, they had two there. Give them a call, go down and measure it and ask how much. I can't tell you my price coz I get family rate as my brother works there but I think they said they sold one for about $300 not long ago. Personally I think that is a bit of a rip as it is a 20 year old diff but ring them anyway. PS someone is selling one in the FS section at the moment, but it is interstate so the freight might kill the price. As a rough guide I would think you would need to budget about $1000 for this diff conversion. It is not only the cost of the diff, but modifying the diff linkages, etc to make it work.
  5. Ok I was thinking about this last night on my way home from work. Actually I think about it alot. Most of us have had plenty of cars, and at the time you have a particular car you love it, right?? But there has to be one that you loved more than any of the others, one that just set your heart on fire and even though you may not have it anymore you still think of it as the best you ever had - your one true love. My one true love - My JZX100 Chaser - it was just so comfortable, cruisy, had the ability to do all daily tasks in comfort, and when required it had the grunt there to scare the crap out of passengers and onlookers alike. I truly loved it but as usual I grew up, bought a house and needed to sell it to make the deposit. I don't think any other car will replace it in my mind, it was just so awesome :y: Post up yours... Also, perhaps post up the car you hated the most.. it might be one you bought or borrowed :)
  6. congrats buddy you must be stoked :y: :)
  7. Another post from me to help you post pics :y: What sort of power do you expect from the 3SGTE and how hard would you rate the conversion to do? Just curious :)
  8. Keep up the pics :y:

    Spotted

Spotted "KE70" twice yesterday in my travels. The second time I saw it I was driving right behind it on Princes Road Mitcham. I purposely went out of my way to follow you and I was in the Mazda 3. Nice ride man :y:
  10. yeah it is bullsh%t but it is not finished yet :D
  11. What sort of help do you need, physical assistance with it or just notes on a forum. I can give you a hand with it but you would need some tools, engine crane, etc. PM me if you like :D
  12. You can purchase toda lightweight flywheel for them. Apparently it makes them a bitch to get moving though from a stand still. You can also purchase toda cam gears which will aid performance. I know someone with an 'alleged' 120 kw at the wheels 20V Silvertop. I am yet to witness it in person though. :D
  13. T 18 will work it is either a series 1 or series 2 diff that you need. One of them bolts straight up and someone else will know. T 18 diff will work with that amount of power but as always it depends on what you use it for and how hard you drive. For instance I had a Sprinter with a CA in it producing about 180rwkw and it was ok. It whined like an old lady all day long but never let go. I did not give it a hard time with hard lauches, clutch kicks and sliding but I still had fun with it and drove it hard once moving and coming on boost etc. Most of the time the tyres gave in rather than the diff :D If you do not have any mechanical sympathy I am guessing the T 18 diff will not be for you. The brakes etc on T 18 will all work with your car. If you get the right series it will just be bolt in and away as I understand. If you plan on giving the car a decent hard time you would be best going to Hilux Diff. My mate has in his SR KE and gives it an absolute flogging and it has not let him down. He was previously using stock KE diff and is now a gun at changing axles and diff centres in record time. If you do not want to ever have to worry about it go the Hilux. A fair bit more work and money but less working on the car all the time :jamie:
  14. I find it hilarious that someone would try sell that thing for $1700. It sold for $900 last time so I guess he made $150 on it in 3 days..... Stupid thing is people will pay stupid money for these things these days :D
  15. Yeah I got one from zuratikl. Good work on the signature modification for the member stating not to open the link. I immediately knew not to open the link. Well done :D
  16. I would be making some enquiries as to the registration ability of this car. You would not want to invest a crap load of money only to find out it cannot be registered again due to no plates. I would say it will have to go through a tier 3 inspection at Regency to ever see the road again. Tally I'm with you I love seeing these things on the road but there is a point of no return :D
  17. Bridgestone Flinders Park (08) 8234 0090 Grange Road Flinders Park Ask for Nigel, he is a fellow rolla head and can help out with all your needs. He is a member on here also.
  18. lol I did wonder what that link would go to :D At the end of the day you are best to stick with a 4A in a KE as it is the easiest conversion ever, plenty of parts available and if it is stock NA you can't get into too much trouble
  19. Sounds like you have plenty of time to spend searching the net then :jamie: Search heaps of ride threads etc and you will soon get the idea of what works and what doesn't. I have lost count of the amount of hours I spent searching for info on what I am doing to mine.
  20. running camber on the front will bring them in a little, and still have the track you desire :D
  21. RN41 or RN42 can't remember, all you need do is measure the KE diff width from drum to drum and then get to a self serve wrecker and measure some Hilux Diffs the same way. You might find a particular Hilux Diff which is skinnier therefore allowing you to run a 20mm spacer without it looking stupid. Some Hilux diffs are wider and are therefore a no go. The other advantage for Hilux is that you can put an LSD in them quite easily. This solves farting around with lockers and also if you break a Sprinter series diff or diff centre expect big bill. Sprinter stuff is not cheap so steer clear of it where you can. There is a way to make the Hilux Diffs 4 stud as my mate has one. I will find out what happened to make it happen. It is some weird combo of parts :jamie: Also, when you see how much a 15 x 8 -9 sticks out you won't want a spacer adding 20mm, unless of course you are from Mexico :D
