Use the search function both here and AE86DC for a fair bit of information on suspension setups etc. You really need to be searching in the rides section as that will show people's builds and set ups etc. With an SR conversion the S13 box will be fine as it was in the S13, for diffs you might want to consider a hilux diff. Some hilux diffs are the same width drum to drum as a KE you just need the swaybar mounts welded on etc. You can also change back to four stud somehow or can stick with 5 stud for the rear as Hilux is 5 stud. You could get away with a T series diff from a T18 or JDM Sprinter however if you give it a hard time with more than 200rwkw you will be breaking centres and axles. I had a stock T series in my CA Sprinter and it held up ok but not given a hard time. Some places make engine mounts for this conversion also. If you upgrade to sprinter struts in the front you can then buy a kit to fit S4 RX7 brakes. The rear drums will be fine if you are just sliding. If you go Hilux Diff then obviously the drums will be bigger anyway. 15 x 8 -9 Challengers only stick out mildly. They are a good fit with a slight roll. Best bit is they can be drilled to any stud pattern so you can run 4 stud front and 5 stud rear. They can be ordered new obviously. So all signs are pointing to a Hilux Diff really..... :D Hope this helps

I don't understand why you would buy that car for that price without the plates. If it had the plates and was registerable then yeah by all means. The owner is not on here or else they would have tried selling it on here before taking it to UPI. Good luck with the car, sounds like you are going to need it :D PS Don't check the FS area on here at the moment as there is a rego'd one for $1200. You will want to end yourself

Probs best to start your own thread so it gets the required attention. I know it is daunting but I guess you are looking for help in SA so I can't see any reason why you can't start a thread in here. As usual though I am going to suggest you do as much of the work as you can yourself and then send it to a workshop. It isn't that hard to put a motor in considering you have all the custom fab mounts all done. Get a few mates over, borrow some tools, enjoy some bourbons etc. Get it to wiring stage and then send it to an auto elec for the wiring and go time. PS I would even be happy to lend a hand provided you have some tools but I am thirsty I go by the saying though if you are not a pilot you would not step in and fly a plane, so if you do not know how to do anything mechanically stay the fark out of the engine bay. I saw a car the other day that someone had wired at home, nearly caught on fire when it was started :D :jamie:

So is there a date for this cruise or we just gonna continue talking about it??? :) Why don't you organise the cruise route for the 31st May one then. It doesn't really matter who organises the cruise so long as we can all catch up and enjoy our Rollas and have a good time. I will send you a Pm so it doesn't clutter this thread. MYSTIK - no need to single out my suggestion to lock :)

No :) Your 20V drives the wrong set of wheels. Don't get me wrong I love what you have done with the car it's just not my cup of tea.

Let me be clear I was only making an observation not trying to antagonise. I have a lot of female friends who have left it until past 25 to get their licence. Just wondered if this was common that's all. It may alter the statistics, it may not. I would say the statistics would me measured by the no. of drivers for each gender and the accident ratio etc.

When it is DET and you have a front mount you can then move your no. plate. Sorry but it shits me to tears when I see the same pimply faced teenager near my place all the time with his no plate to the side and no intercooler. Does he even understand why he moved it or just trying to be a h4xor?? :) Looks like a tidy rig.... I know a place that can do manual conversions for these things too if you are keen :)
-
Not that this should turn into a discussion about better drivers.... But is it other people's observations (as well as mine) that females tend to get their licences later in life than males?? :)

I have no suggestions but would like to see more pics this thing looks awesome. :)

It was not built for sliding so you won't see any. It has been built as a subtle daily for me with a bit of extra kick. Sorry to disappoint but I built this car for me the way I want it. I am considering building another one now for skids and shit. I was thinking 7AGE with 20V head and some forced induction. Anyway, another update. The car is running, exhaust is being made this week and I might even get to pick it up this Friday. I have been told that a few times so I am not getting my hopes up but I can't wait to finally drive it :)

Budowski Is Now Engaged To Be Married
LukeAE71 replied to Budowski's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Nice work, as if you didn't tell me about this on Saturday you dawg :) Make sure you get all the rolla spending in before the kids come mate :) Just jokes it was the best thing I ever did. My wife understands that I still like to play with cars and we now have our first kid on the way. Have fun in Bali :y: -
Not bad... just please do not move your no. plate to the left or paint the boot or bonnet black Thanks :)

Outback Travel In Ke10 Station Wagon
LukeAE71 replied to Davros El Davros's topic in Automotive Discussion
I reckon I know that guy, his kid used to race radio control cars with us. I remember his Sahara too. Oh yeah and wicked that the KE10 could do all that :) -
I guess if they have to spend longer here they will learn the rules prior to putting up their for sale ad. Also stops people who have nothing to contribute to the site other then their sale item from coming here.

That's the spirit mate. You only grew to hate it because you couldn't use it. Now it is finally returning the love you are falling for it again. :hmm: Damn cars they screw with your emotions :P

My co-worker describing to me how two people got sacked due to an affair at work, good stuff for a friday I reckon :P

Some other sites have a requirement that you are an active member with a certain no. of posts before you can advertise in the for sale areas. This would stop the no. of people who join here solely to sell their wares for free. Has this been given some thought?? I thought it might stop some of the people who come on here, post up their things for sale with no regard to the for sale area rules due to the fact they haven't been registered for more than 15 minutes, then their post gets locked or deleted and they start another one, or four. I have seen one new member lately who has started about 3 posts for the same car sale as he still cannot work out how to use the for sale area properly. It grinds my gears. Also, they do not contribute to the site in any other way other than sell stuff for free. The flipside to this I guess is people will just spam threads til their thread count gets high enough so they can sell items which is probably worse for Admin. :P Any thoughts or is this just too hard to manage??

Yes, as far as I am aware the valve does not affect your compression. My brother drove his around for ages with a poor tune and it burnt out the exhaust valve on a cylinder which made it run on 3.
-
Yeah it sounds like a burnt valve to me. My bro's ke did the same thing.

Update: I went past the workshop yesterday to find they won’t be starting on my car until Friday. It’s ok though I want them to take their time and do a good job. It’s been 4 months already what’s a few more days really?? I thought I would post up some more indicative prices of this conversion for those considering it. Bear in mind though that these are the prices I found things for on forums, etc so in some cases a bit cheaper than importers and other shops. Here goes: Engine 20V 4AGE Engine w loom and plugs, no ecu - $800 Cooling Parts required for RWD application Block off plate for rear of engine - $80 (from memory) Side block off plate (behind extractors) - $15 (from memory) Yager front thermostat relocator part - $179.50 Various radiator hoses (need 3 at least) - $50 New hose clamps - $5 Engine Management/Induction Microtech LT10S with X4 Box - $1150 Dash Display (free with package) normally - $495 (not an absolutely necessary item Individual Bosch Coils - $280 Leads – $100 Trumpets for Quad Throttle Bodies - $50 (I used weber ones adapted. Not ideal but cheap) Sock for Trumpets - $100 for four Thermo Fan - $115 TRD Copy Extractors - $300 Fuel System Surge Tank - $100 Facet Lift Pump - $120 (trade price) Bosch Fuel Pump - $140 (trade price) Various fuel lines - $50 Total Cost excluding labour - $3,634.50 In my build I have factored in another $700 or so for the wiring and tuning of the Microtech. If you are not competent in wiring etc and do not wish to ruin your brand new ECU it is probably advisable to send it to an expert like I have. There are no other charges for labour as I did the complete install of the engine etc myself. You can easily see how a conversion of this type can cost over $6000 if you choose to send it to your mechanic to do all the work. At the moment I like to think that I have ‘saved’ around $1500 by doing the majority of it myself but I guess that depends on the individual quote of any mechanic. I have not included the cost of an exhaust above as that is very individual.

Where are you looking?? You should be able to get a pair for about $90 if you keep an eye on forums. pssst they come up on Nissansilvia.com every week  25mm spacers in 4 x 114.3 are common as. 30mm might be a little harder to get hold of.
