You have bought a T series crossmember which will only fit a T series motor. You need an A series crossmember which you can get from an AE71 either automatic or manual. It all makes sense that you have to have stuff from the same series.

Update to the above saga: The lady from the Plumbing Firm who I called earlier today called me back on my mobile to discuss. Question: How could she ring me on my personal mobile no. if I didn't give it to her (I initially rang her from a landline) Answer: She has my details on file She advised me she could not find the details I was requesting about the addresses and that it didn't matter as if I didn't pay there would be a warrant for my arrest. Arrested now??? WTF????? I will be writing them a letter (after I have paid so I don't get arrested) to seek some clarity on the issue and might even get some free legal advice in relation to the fees I have had to pay to settle the issue. As I see it at this stage the legal fees are unnecessary as they have neglected to follow my instructions and send the account to the right address. :P

Thank god for that, he was such a wanker. Every time he opened his mouth about hoon driving he gave me the irrits. As it turns out he is quite the hoon himself. On NOVA this morning they said he has had up to 58 offences relating to traffic. That there is some sort of record!! It's a shame now we provide him with a driver and car so not only can he not re-offend we also have to pay for him to be driven around. I realise this is a perk of being an MP but still it's annoying. I can't wait for the time he gets into a car and gets caught again. Unfortunately now he has a driver the opportunity for this occasion will be rare :P

WGMG The tenant in our unit :P We organised a plumber about 6 months ago and we told the plumber it was for a rental unit and for the bill to be sent to an alternative address which was our home. They sent the bill to the unit and the tenant obviously got it and never forwarded it on. They apparently sent reminder notices and still not sent on by the tenant. My wife gets a call from a Sherriff's Officer this morning looking for me. He explained that he went around the unit twice looking for me to serve me a summons for court. When he went around there the tenant denied knowing me or any of my contact details. What the f%$k?? I am her landlord and she has both my address and phone numbers. In the end the second time he went around there she gave him my wife's phone no, hence the phone call this morning. The issue is all but sorted, but at the end of the day I now have to pay an additional $242.55 in legal fees. This money could have gone to much better things but alas it will not. I have contacted the plumber's office which is a large firm and they won't advise me whether I gave them the correct information on the phone and that it is irrelevant anyway, pay your money or your going to court. The lady asked where my phone call was leading to which I advised her it was going to lead to me asking for my legal fees back eventually. Not surprisingly she was more reluctant to give me any information after that comment. In the end she said she would ring me with the information, it wasn't until I got off the phone I realised she never took my no. So surprise, surprise she didn't give two shits!! Really angry right now :P

At the moment I think it looks a little American Gangster due to the ride height. It looks like it has bags that are set to the highest height at the moment with the guard gaps... :P I have 2" lower springs to put in which should make it look a bit more "down to earth". I have decided not to put them in at the moment due to the car needing to go on a trailer soon and the higher the better for that. :P

Tom Koutsantonis - hoon with over 30 offences to his name acting as the Road Safety Minister - hahahahahahahaha Discuss...

No huge update from the weekend but I did do the following: - cut out extra room in the gear shifter spot for my manual shifter as my car was factory automatic - fitted up my newly acquired manual tailshaft - adjusted my bonnet properly after having it on/off on/off putting the engine in and out - gave the car a good clean and vacuum I really can't progress much more at the moment as I am collecting parts and also need more money to finish it all off. Damn it is getting expensive. I am still looking for the following items to finish my car 1. T50 shifter assembly or K50 2. Surge Tank 3. Fuel Set-up 4. Exhaust for 20V in AE71, I know I am dreaming but I just don't really want to pay for a custom one if I can avoid it. Then it can go to the tuner.... :jamie:

Discuss SA Off-Topic stuff in here

City Dismantlers (otherwise known as City Ripoffs) had some 4AGZE motors there when I was there last. At $2000 I don't think they will be moving fast. Also the guy that runs the Toyota section thinks everything KE related is worth a million dollars :jamie: Unfortunately with this type of engine you will have to ring around as they are not that popular and importers aren't going to bring it in on a hope and a prayer that they will sell it. Worst comes to worst you could 'order' one from an importer so that the next time they go over to Japan they can bring one back for you. Buddy Parts should have 4AGZE motors too as he brings in half cuts from Japan. If he is sold out you could order one from his next trip. Be aware though he is ridiculously hard to get hold of, even when you do have money and are trying to purchase something from him. I wouldn't ring him if you are 'thinking' of buying something, only when you are 'ready' to buy something. This can be a helpful place mate but you do also have to help yourself. People are not going to spoon feed you. :)

The air con compressor will fit ok but you need a different length belt as the normal belt runs the air con and the power steering pump. The power steering pump is obviously not used in my car. There is also a bit of an issue with the fact that the engine mount gets in the way but I will work a way around this. It's winter now anyway won't be needing the air con for a while yet :jamie:

Well this is going off-topic nicely. I think some guidelines should be drawn up and pinned at the top for people to refer to, especially new people. I still think the SA Section could be more user friendly and more 'united' in its way of information sharing at a state level but that is at the Region Leader's and Admin responsibility and decision as it is their site. By making this comment I am not having a go either :jamie:

Yes it is close to the heater inlet, which is why you really can't run a heater with a 20 valve engine in there. I wanted to but at the end of the day I decided it was not worth it, I don't feel the cold much anyway. My wife does but she'll get over it. The dizzy cover that I got is probably about 1cm from the heater inlet when you look at it in real life. There is no way you could run the original dizzy setup without some serious hammer time on the firewall. I took those pics though to show just how close a 20 valve fits, there really isn't much room at all!!! I do plan to run aircon though, but later once I have it all running I will attempt that. I do get hot in Summer and the aircon in this car was icy cool :jamie:

You will need to measure up hilux diffs at wreckers to see which ones are a similar width to yours. RN41 model comes to mind as that is similar width to a KE70 corolla so may work in Celica. Then you will need your existing body mounts that are on the diff welded onto the new diff, trailing arms modified etc. This will prob cost around the $1000 mark depending on who you get to do the work. You will need to be running big power to justify something like this under the rear of your car.

Just another thought, I see the Regional Off-Topic thread but no SA Thread there, is it as simple as starting one for our state or are we not allowed to?? I am not being negative, just posing the question :jamie:

I don't see how this thread has really answered the question about what the SA Section is to be used for..... I think this place is taken way too serious but it's your forum you do what you want. I would have thought it could be a little more relaxed in the state sections to create a bit more of a 'get to know each other' type environment but if that is not what the forum owners want then that has to be respected. In the end I think it will stop people with an opinion and real knowledge from posting in this section and others due to feeling that their post will be deleted or the topic closed so you will miss out on information. I guess if you want to ask questions from people who actually live in your state you have to resort to PM or MSN. I for one am not a fan of MSN and I would gather there would be others too that prefer to use the forum. The other benefit of putting the information on the forum rather than PM is that other people can benefit from the information too. Despite the fact that this forum is teeming with information there is still plenty not on here and search functions are not always that helpful despite how well you use them or combinations you try. Lastly, in relation to closing and locking threads, you will notice that unless things get out of hand or the discussion turns into illegal activities (in which case they need to be cleaned/deleted), most threads die a natural death and end up on the second page before you know it anyway, with no real need to close or delete them. Just a thought..... :jamie:

No issue with other threads being closed, as what's done is done. We just need some clarification on what to do in this section. So some constructive feedback would be great thanks :jamie:

I don't think mine will be in attendance either, money and time are getting tight to have it finished in time. I will still be there though in the daily.

Ok Tom I have thought about this a bit and due to the fact that some people will be concerned about defects etc can I suggest the following: 1. Meet at ETSA Park as planned at 2:30 pm. Quick chat and let people know the cruise route etc. 2. Leave at 3 pm sharp. 3. Smal cruise say hour or so then go to a place (to be advised on the day) to meet and greet. This will be when people will get to know each other and check out other rides etc. 4. Everyone can do what they want after this, either hang around for ages chatting or go for more of a cruise etc. As usual we expect no hooning on this cruise, just want XE7X drivers to come along, show your pride and have a good time. I will be bringing my digi cam and posting up pics (without plates) after the cruise in this thread.

You only need like 4 psi or so for a carby setup and the facet external pumps are rated at like 5 - 8 psi. I think you need a fuel pressure regulator though also on top of this. Still has to be cheaper than $160 :hammer: Anyway there should be like 14 million of these pumps on KE70's at U pull it.

Ok so there has been a topic regarding closure of threads in the SA Section and I had something to add there but low and behold that was closed too. This has been on my mind for quite a while however I never posted it up as I figured it would be closed too. I think it needs to be made clear, and maybe even pinned what the purpose is of the state sections of this forum. It appears at the moment that anything that goes slightly off topic or continues for longer than what the Region Leader considers appropriate then it gets closed. This does not necessarily aid in keeping this area cleaner, just mutes people from having an opinion. The particular thread yesterday that caused a fuss (yes I was posting in it and no I am not offended) was actually carrying on quite a mature discussion/debate so no idea why that was closed. It also appears that when a member posts up something which may be state specific and could do with being left there for a few days it gets locked straight away. So my question is.... 1. What is the purpose of the state sections and what is meant to be posted here? 2. Can some quidelines for the state sections be given and maybe pinned at the top of this section? 3. What is not suitable for the state section? I have an opinion on the issue and will post it after I have given it some more thought and also listened to others ideas. At the end of the day this forum should be a place for people to form friendships and comaraderie prior to meeting in the real world (and after where distance prevents us from seeing each other all the time). If we do this by fostering friendly relationships within the SA Section then the forum will grow into quite a good community for Corolla enthusiasts. It is my opinion that this is currently not happening. MYSTIK - please let this topic run. I think it will be interesting to see what the SA forum members have to say about their section. If you close this it just goes to show that people in general are being muted.
