  1. Ok roll up roll up. I am bored and well got started thinking of my plates for my AE71 which is nearly finished it's heart transplant. It is full nana spec with venetian, sun visor, doilies on the rear headrests, picnic rug on back seat. Running on Sigma Turbo Rims with whitewalls. Oh and it has a 4AGE 20 Valve motor in it with 5 speed. In SA you can have full custom plates up to 7 letters or numbers or you can have these premium style plates with any combo of four letters and two numbers of five letters and two numbers. Bear in mind that the whole idea of this project is sleeper so anything letting on that it is 20 valve is no good. Some ideas I have had so far: NANA 71 NANNA 1 NANS 71 LUVNANA MYNANA LUKE 71 NANAS LUVNAN BOWLS BOWLIN 4AC4LYF - 4ac for life 4ACFTW - 4ac for the win 4ACFTL - 4ac for the lose That's it so far. I don't really like the 4AC plates as I am not a fan of internet speak outside of the internet so to speak but if the survey says yes, then why not. I can always change them I suppose.
  2. Does it change lanes when you floor it??

Well I park in the pram park all the time and if anyone dares ever ask me, I'll just say I am practising for when I do have a baby..... :(

Spotted JUD's KE3X two door sedan at Colonnades yesterday afternoon. I saw it out the corner of my eye and I am glad I bothered for a second look :) Damn nice bit of gear right there. :(
  5. I am well past high school and definitely not emo or... wait for it "straight edge" SLO-030 - about the learners, there is a time and place for learning. When you first start out, drive at times of the day when less cars are on the road. When your skills develop, then yes, drive at all different times to learn what the roads are like. The particular learner that "grinded my gears" looked like they got their L's that morning out of their cereal packet and thought, hey mum I'll drive to school this morning. Had absolutely no idea at all and held up all traffic. When I learnt to drive I did it with my Dad, and spent hours driving late at night when no cars are around to build my skills before I went out in peak hour traffic. :(
  6. Whether or not it would survive depends on its overall mechanical condition. Do you know of any cooling issues etc? I seem to recall you posted another time that you had a radiator issue or similar. Any issues like these will be brought about quite quickly again on a long road trip. As an example I drove my MX73 Cressy to Melbourne. They are notorious for blown head gaskets. Whilst this thing had not been overheated at all I suspected that the head gasket was on the way out. City driving and it was fine. As soon as I took that long trip it shit itself outside of Horsham, 300ks into the trip. Other than that if the car is in reasonable mechanical condition and you have recently serviced it there should be no reason why it won't survive. What do you think people drove back in the 80's. Granted they were like new then and we are 25 years or so down the track but still. It will be a slow and boring trip though :)
  7. I am in SA also mate :)
  8. Scan the for sale sections, and also post in the wanted to buy section. I have found great bargains off this site so stick with it, be patient and you will also. If you want any info regarding 20V swap, PM me as I am learning my way through it too and might be able to help.
  9. Well I do not know how to use a sprinter pedal setup, however.... If you search this topic you will find someone has laid out all the information for you in perfect working order and this is what I used to do mine. In all honesty as much as they are hard to find, an AE71 Manual Pedal Box is the way to go as it is a full bolt in affair. If you get stuck with it, PM me and I can give you some pointers as I have done mine just recently. I used the factory pedal box though.
  10. :jamie: Yes that's why every night when I go home to my wife I put on my wife beater and double plugger thongs, get out my slab of VB, sit on the couch, yell profanities at her and tell her to get back in the kitchen. My maturity level does not allow me to realise that we have moved into a more fairer society where every gender is equal. *sigh* For the record I did not say she wanted to be like them. WTF is it with everyone taking things so serious on here, chill the f$#k out people :) Note - the use of italics signifies sarcasm. Much was used here :D WGMG - Learners learning to drive during peak hour traffic when they have no clue
  11. I want the Limo Cressy. I always called mine the limo when I had it. I thought they were big enough already but fark me that is big and long :) EDIT: How wicked is the bus motorhome???
  12. Ok well I msged you yesterday on 0434 326 343 and you never replied. Is it a set or a pair? PM me with the details and I will see what I can do for you. It cost me $25.00 a wheel to have rims sent from Tas to here so I am guessing it will be about that for you also. Luke
  13. Yeah I am not from Vic and I guess getting an RWC will depend on where you go to for it. You could always sell it to someone in SA which means you do not need an RWC. People in SA would be all over this if you officially put it up for sale. It wouldn't cost that much to transport it either seeming as it will drive onto a truck/train/etc.
  14. It is complete though with some hard to get parts, I would have thought it to be worth around the $1000 mark. Might be hard to get RWC though.
  15. If you are going to put your opinions on a public forum I guess you have to expect that they may be challenged. I didn't challenge what you were saying, merely suggested you have another look at what you wrote and think about it.
  16. Tom it is hard enough to organise things for a set date so everyone can be there so as much as I am touched that you would change the date for me the date should stay the same. If the car (and money) gods are shining down on me then the car will be ready and it will be there. I will be there but I guess if my car isn't then I will be breaking the rules by bringing my Mazda. I should be an exception though seeming as I am helping to organise the event and make maps etc. This will still be a kick ass event. I will bring my camera for some pics. We should aim for at least 50 E7's. Tom (or someone else maybe), can you try and put a link on AE86DC also. I do not get on there as it is blocked on net at work. There would be plenty of E7 lovers on there that would like to come.

Yes guys it would pay to follow the normal spotted rules which should apply for all forums really, no mention of no. plates and no mention of actual locations. Some cars are parked in the same spot every day for work so would be thieves will know quite quickly from threads like these. :)
  18. I'm out, no rolla and prob not even a daily for me at this time :)
  19. I am pushing for this date. It will depend entirely on the workshop who is doing the finishing touches. 20V motor goes in this weekend, exhaust to be done the following weekend, then off to a workshop to be wired and tuned and running. It's getting close now, been a long hard slog collecting parts and paying for them. It's difficult when you have a mortgage, etc. I have already spent close to $2.5K and I am not even done spending yet :jamie: But if it is not done I will still be there to see all the other E7's. :)
  20. I can prob do this for you. What method of post are you wanting to use?? Courier?? Luke
  21. Well as an update to my crash repair woes, they have come up with the goods and repaired it all and it looks fantastic now  No resolution to the rim issue but I am going to have a think about that and see what I come up with. At the moment I am just glad to have my car back and looking good again, after all it is barely two years old :jamie: But the best thing ever happened on the way to returning the loan car, there was a god awful bang, followed by the mother of all exhaust leak sounds. Stupid piece of junk blew something out on the exhaust!! Karma at it's best. I casually mentioned the issue to the guy as I drove off into the distance in my car :)
  22. I am going to refrain from mentioning the name at this time, waiting on a resolution of my issues. They called earlier to say it has been fixed again so I am heading down there now to check it. I very much doubt it but you never know. According to a person I spoke to Mt Pleasant Crash are apparently freaking awesome. If only I had known that before I put my car into this other place as Mt Pleasant is not that far from me.
  23. Well it has been decided that we will have a meet and greet at ETSA Park followed by a cruise which should suit all driving levels and cars, etc. Get the word out, and bring all your mates with E7's along. :P
  24. Unfortunately there is an element of jealousy in your comments about them. Have a good hard think about it and you will realise. Anyway why wouldn't you be jealous, as you say they have it a hell of a lot easier than you. WGMG The crash repairer I am dealing with at the moment. Had the car for two weeks, get it back, admittedly leaving there in a hurry so as not to check the workmanship much. Get the car home, boot does not close properly as the car is still bent, and a close look at the paintwork and the quality is that of what my 5 year old nephew could produce. The paintwork has tiny pimples all through it like they have got some shit in the clear when they sprayed it on. So they now have to paint the whole show all over again. Also, while they had the car they scratched one of the rims. None of my rims had rash on them before they went there. So now they have the car again to fix for the second time and I have a crap 1980's Laser as a loan car. I swear to god I hope someone crashes into their loan car on the last day I have it, or steals it. So sick and tired of their crap. And to top it all off they are supposed to be one of the best crash shops in Adelaide. And they refused to repair or replace my rim as I cannot prove it. :P
