  1. Good to see someone sliding something a little different to the usual KE sedan. Love your work :hmm:
  2. I have seen a roof rack that is more like a pack rack, it has multiple rails on it and attaches to the roof towards the back of the roof... That is what you need, but I have a feeling it would sacrifice the body work too much to mount it. Someone in SA had one on a primered wagon... :hmm:
  3. Bear in mind though that plenty of people (despite the massive risks involved) don't actually have insurance.
  4. It was tongue in cheek dude, take a chill pill :no2: I was thinking about this topic on the way to work, and remembered I insured my first RX7 when I was 17 with Just Cars and the Fire and Theft was about $700. Try them mate and let us know how you get on with it. :hmm:
  5. Agree with Nick here, Boso can be damn cool. :) But imo the first car you posted doesn't do boso all that well. Still waiting for someone in Aus to do a Boso car. Some say they have, but I have not seen a true Boso inspired car in Aus.
  6. Just Cars and Shannons are both underwritten by AAMI, so there. As Philbey said I hate to think what your chances would be when actually CLAIMING through Just Cars. I can't speak highly enough about Shannons though, I had my Chaser insured with them and my Mazda 3. I sold my Chaser and they have let me have my Mazda 3 insured by them even though it is not considered to be an enthusiast vehicle. My Mazda recently got crunched by a truck, and they have been fantastic through the claims process. I guess it helps the fact that they are not paying for the claim as I was not at fault, but when the assessor came out he found things wrong with the car from the accident that even I had not noticed on inspection. All insurance you get depends on a number of factors, driving experience, years you have had insurance without claiming, etc etc. Get insurance in your name as early in life as possible as it helps further down the track. By the time you are 22 you will have had 5 years experience and can probably argue your case for cheaper premiums, provided you havent had an accident during that time. If you have had any driving offences or claims already, you are screwed dude. :)
  7. Assuming you are male how can you not like PINK?? :)
  8. Nick, the boso styling of that car is a little homo but the wheels sure are NOT. I prefer the Hayashi Streets which are listed on their site. Check some of the widths and offsets available and brand new too. If you are building a JDM flavoured KE these are a must have. You can't put Rodney Jane Racing rims on something that you want to be JDM, it just does not work. :)

    Spotted

Got defected for oil leaks, etc then went to Regency and got more defects, which I do not know what they are. I bought it defected to use for parts however I am tempted to get it through Regency and get it back on the road as it drives real nice and is quite clean. 5 Speed too :P Yes that Olive one is quite the overrated, I saw it again cruising the area on Saturday and wanted :)

I would like to know how you produce 120 kw at the wheels in an atmo 20valve please. Oh and I spotted an almost 100% overrated beige KE70 sedan backing out of Nickyboy's driveway on Saturday morning. But then it wasn't Nick driving. Is that your brothers or something?? My eyes got a boner at the sight of that 70 :)
  11. Pretty much agree with everything Redwarf said. Insurance companies these days do investigate instances where a car is insured by a parent and you are placed as a driver for say 5% of the time. If they find that in fact you drove 100% of the time or even a little less you would be in big poo poo and probably have your claim denied and your insurance cancelled. Having a denied claim or insurance cancelled will probably render you not able to get insurance again or probably for the next 5 years. Yes it sucks being male and under 25 but unfortunately the statistics prove that they are the worst drivers. I never had an accident when I was under 25 but I paid higher premiums for the fact that other people in my age bracket did. Try Just Cars, they will be expensive so you need to think if you really NEED that car!! You could be paying over 2gs per year to insure a car that is only worth just twice that. Also their excesses are enough to make baby jesus cry!! Other insurance companies won't touch you as you are too young. Shannons probably would if you were a couple of years older and have a good driving record but they don't insure ALL people under 25. It is a discretionary thing.
  12. Think about it from your parents point of view mate, one day when you are a parent you will understand I think. Until then let your mother give you all the help she can to steer you in the right direction. A few months is not long enough to say you have it all sorted out. But keep up the good work.
  13. + 1 for what everyone else said. The price of S13's now make them hard to turn away as a competent cheap drifter. Ke's and Ae's will cost just about as much to get the same standard and parts availabilty and cost of parts is higher for Corollas due to lack of popularity and age.
  14. Ok I got a deal for you, I just picked up a donor car, you provide the cash and I will do it for you and post a pic. PM for bank details :P
  15. This is me, at the start of MOvember late last year :D
  16. Hey there you are selling a half complete car which will be hard to sell in a little while let alone a day. If you are really that desperate for cash sell your a$$ :D

    My Ke70

The wagon will be a daily rig whilst I work on the AE. I pick up that motor off Queen20V next weekend so that is when the real work will start. I have most other things for the conversion, taking a week off work to finish it then it will be off to be wired up and exhaust made and on the road, yay for me. Your 70 is going to be hot, those wheels are the best choice for it in terms of period correct styling and offset without all the jdmism to go with it. I'm so over JDM this and JDM that. Can't wait to see this sedan unfold. Edit: just noticed that you are replacing wheels, so yeah um talk to me about selling them to me, yeah ok thanks bye
  18. I think you would need to cut the guards half way through the wheel arch and weld to the rear half of a 70 series guard. This would mean it would line up with the door at least. Then mod the front rad support for the front part to line up. I might practice this on a cheap 70, see what I can turn up. Needless to say though, and as has been said before, it was cheap and good it would have been done lots before

    My Ke70

MMM I Like..... this would go well next to my beige wagon I pick up tomorrow morning. Said it before and I will say it again, beige hearts KE70 :D
  20. I know nothing about leaf springs and what is required. Find out what you want and get back to me. I can then get you a price.
  21. I have had a rethink about what I wrote, and follow up by saying that no-one actually 'deserves' this money/. It is designed to be spent to stimulate the economy and maintain employment etc. I however do not agree with giving it to people who received it the first time around. Friends of ours are going to get $5600 after this payment. I doubt they even paid $5600 in tax last year. This payment should have had some sort of means testing applied to it, rather than an earnings testing. But at the end of the day it is too hard, and all they really want to do is get money out there to be spent. Will I be spending it, hell yeah!! I work hard, pay my taxes, mortgage etc get no assistance from Centrelink (never have and prob never will) so I am spoiling myself and getting my ecu installed and tuned so I can finally drive my Rolla again. To everyone, get out there and spend it!! F%$k yeah :D :P
  22. The pop-up version would look no good at all, so you would need to use a normal AE86 front. Front guards for them are pretty easy to come by, and you don't necessarily need to buy a fully JDM tyt version either. ADM guards will do the trick. This is a difficult conversion, if it was cheap and easy, and/or cool it would have been done.
  23. Registration Office at Noarlunga grinds my gears. You wait forever, using your whole lunch break, the place is full of stinky people, then you finally get served and they say, oh you filled out form 1435, when in fact you need form 1234, not to mention the fact that this is the form the lady at the reception gave you for your query. Then they tell you to line up and wait again after you have filled out the new form, rather than allowing you to fill it out at the counter where they just handed you the correct form. Then they charge you $48 for a one day permit to move an unregistered vehicle. My mate registered his scooter for the whole year for $48. Plus the people who work there are rude and not interested, if you don't want to work there then don't, but don't give me attitude when I go in there to get something which I need. They call it a Service Centre, the ultimate irony, as what you receive is anything but service :D
  24. King Springs are not known for their quality. If you want good quality springs in whatever height you desire go through Industrial Springs. They will be cheaper than Kings, made here so you are supporting SA, and will last longer. If you want I can see if I can get some discount through a mate who deals with them. I saved about $30 a pair when I got them through him. They can also do the leaf rears and you will notice their is a group buy on them at the moment in the parts section.
  25. Not having a go, but I'm guessing you didn't pay 14 grand in tax last year like I did. Not to mention the fact I have been paying tax since I was 14 and am now 28. I guess I deserve it MORE than YOU because I have given them MORE than YOU. At 14 grand for the last 4 years I have paid 56K in tax..... :P Food for thought and my 2 cents all rolled into one. Damn I am cranky at the moment :D
