i like the way u think, ill call them monday, well try and findout who to call and try and get a straight answer from them...should be interesting i can see this bumperetter thing working, as long as they don't deem the front bar to be front impact zone... ill just have to wait and see then wont i cheers guys

intercooler will be staying this size no adr covers the bumpers from what i could see, i put them all up there^^ hence i think its a grey area that i can work on, i was thinking holes, but the problem is the metal bar the bumper sits on is serious stuff and its gonna be alota work to get a reasonable amount of air flowing thru it. a picture might be handy, just so we are definately on the right brainwave :P cheers guys

it isnt a daily? bummer any ideas on how to get around needing a bumper?
-
http://www.turbocorolla.com/cars/images/wolfz_exterior04.jpg thats very low and appears undamaged...
-
ooh, that would be hot imagine the engineering involved tho
-
how they work? like straight out and up? like a birds wing? how do carparks go with them?
-
hmmph, i hate rules, i don't like manufacturing/modifying things to fit either :P can i just put like this tiny ass pissy little thing in its place? that runs along the line of the bottom of the trim, so it don't block flow?
-
lol @ no struts lol @ house door hinges how ingenious i like this person :P
-
i have a very very old bandsaw don't know anything about printing etc, can i have your scans tho? id love to do my own up but am too lazy to pull the cover off the instrument cluster :harhar:
-
well, been having a play b4 and after tea and been thinking about everyones thoughts heres what i came up with no bumper: bumper:  stoopid frigging bumper, the cooler disappears!!!! so not cool :) i need ideas/thughts/suggestions. help me guys and in that first pic, thats as high as the cooler can go, coz of the brackets for the grill across the front and the holes up the top are blocked so your idea corolla bitten is a no go :P cheers guys :harhar:
-
wow i posted something and it disappeared  owell, redwarf i was gonna reshell but I'm tryna get it all up and running in this car and then make a final decision at the moment I'm 90% sure ill keep it in this shell due to engineered and gassed already plus there doesnt appear to be any rust repair which means stronger... corolla bitten, yeah I'm running bigger radiator, supra one, bloody massive lol. ill have a look at those holes and see what i can do cheers for the idea i hadnt thought of flipping it over coz my plans have been changed hmm interesting :harhar:
-
hmm, i spent a coupla hours setting mine up properly according to the diagram and it smoothed her out alot and you may find the difference between the 2 motors is not related to the emissions crap, i have 2 and one is alot better than the other, most of these motors have done alota k's and it depends on what sorta work has been done to them in this time :harhar:
-
yeah id been thinking on the indicator thingy, i was just gonna make something up for them to sit on... hmm, front impact zone, you mean that bloody great iron bar that the bumper sits on and bolts to the rails actually does something constructive...dam :harhar: lol so theres no way of getting around not having them? like bumperettes or wateva mentioned by jamie? blue plates? you talkin engineering? coz its already engineered cheers for the help red and corolla bitten I'm well aware that holes arnt hard to cut, but removing 100 mm circle of steel is never good for structural rigidity so I'm trying to avoid it if i can
-
I'm putting the i/c piping through the bumper holes, so i can't do that :harhar:

chicks = my second interest chicks + car....thats fun :harhar: been looking i have to comply with the numbers listed, and shown their title 1 - Reversing signal lamps 2 - Door latches and hinges 3A - Seat anchorages 4D - Seatbelts 5B - Seatbelt anchorages 6 - Direction Turn signal lamps 7 - Hydraulic brake hoses (no longer effective) 8 - Safety glass 10B - Steering columns 11 - Internal sunvisors 12 - Glare reduction 14 - Rearview mirrors 15 - Demisting of windscreens 16 - Windscreen Wipers & washers 18A - Location/visibility of instruments 20 - Safety rims 21 - Instrument panels 22A - Head restraints 23A - Pneumatic car tyres 24 - Tyre selection 25A -Anti-theft locks 27C - Engine emission control 28A - Motor vehicle noise 29 - Side door strength 31 - Hydraulic brake systems 34 - Child restraint systems from what i see nothing effected bumpers yeah?

air con is so much more sophisticated the ladies like it for their hair to :harhar:
-
hmmph :harhar: lol i duno how I'm gonna fit aircon lol
-
no worries, and out of interest why did u pull the emissions stuff off? mine runs happier with it on, and most of it is only for cold start anyway
-
can we meet in the middle and say somewhere like so that bottom of the cooler lines up with the bottom of the lowest bar if ya get me i think that would work yeah?
-
in a prefect world that would work but thermo fan is an issue... i could go have a look and see if it would work, but i don't see me gettin aircon in there if that happens  fist sized rock.... ouch i wouldnt wanna hit one of those on anything on the car radiators hit birds and live, and i reckon this thing is tuffer than a rad I'm thinking about it tho :harhar:
-
ive seen a fair few about that height...and its fairly tough, it mite lose a few fins but i think the core would take alot to split... how high are people thinking? coz it can't go any higher really coz of the thermo fan plus if it goes higher it will block even more of the radiator, and i wanna fit aircon in there somewhere...
-
not that low really, its over 150 mm but yeah, thats where  thoughts? opinions? i reckon it looks tuff :harhar:
-
aww  stoopid adr's. do you know which one it is just so i can check for myself, thanks nick :harhar:
-
cool :harhar: bumperettes? what be these? cheers for the response

hey guys, just stickin the intercooler into the 1ggte rolla at the moment, and took the bumper off to make it a bit easier to fiddle around, and well it looks good and its gonna give better flow without the bumper, and theres a wonderfully placed hole on each side where the i/c piping can go. so this brings me to my question: will i get defected or not pass a safety cert if i don't have a front bumper? cheers guys, andrew
