the ke70 runs a bosch alternator regulated to 14.3 v, forgive me for using the wrong word wrong...13 volts is not enough to keep a battery charged for all that long, it has to do with the chemical processes of the battery, basically when u turn ur key a reaction creates lead sulphate which is a solid Pb + H2SO4 = PbSO4 + H2 or something along those lines, and the lead sulphate is no good for giving power, coz its the reaction of lead with the acid that makes power, now what an alternator does by passing a current through the battery is charge it, it does this by reversing the previous reaction. to reverse the previous reaction a higher voltage is required ie PbSO4 + electric current = Pb + H2SO4 so the higher the voltage the more this reaction will occur, if you have a low charge voltgae very little of the reaction by-products are returned to reactants, thus reducing your battery life

well as i said theyre limited to 14.3 so should be up around that, mine runs 13.8 alternator, new is expensive, second hand wont be so bad a recon unit somewhere in between me thinks

having to re-locate everything like washer bottles, everyhting except the engine + new wiring+lots of small bits and peices + the cost of tidying up ur engine bay, i just see costs adding up dinner oh btw what does 1337 actually mean? i know its all the gr8 stuff, but what does 1337 stand for? cheers

hard work, and i doubt it would be cheap, id love to but I'm pretty sure i would lose interest half way thru, that said theres sod all wiring in my bay as it is, just needs prettying up

in the ke70 its 6000, and in the owners manual they even say 6000, i just gotta find it now to prove it to my self

maybe if you had less fur it wouldnt be such an issue :D but seriously, i believe the greenhouse gases are causing problems, however alot of people are quick to jump on the global warming bandwagon without enough research and facts. if you want to look at the effect, don't compare a singles years figures with 40 years, make the complarisons fair, alot of scientists are in jobs because they research and explain global warming, if i was them i would be playing up the effects as much as possible, coz thats what they get paid to do yes reduce greenhouse emissions, but less hype about global warming thinking about global warming during a heat wave when there are hot winds coming in from central australia isnt what we should be doing, we should notice that i only wore a jumper 2wice this winter, and if the temperatures stay up like this for several years, then maybe there is a problem my 2c

its a 12 on a 2s-c so I'm pretty sure it would be on the 4k aswell me and dad were playin round with one yesterday, pulled it out coz it wasnt engaging, put wreckers one in which did nothing still, hooked them up outside the car, wreckers one wouildnt spin, old one working fine...so put the old one back and shes all good, but 40 minutes to do all that...including 3 starter motor removals and replacements..beat that :D wiring to the alternator is simple, but wiring in general is shit you could test the battery with a multimeter in 20 seconds :y:

but whats the point of revving so high unless you have a cam to suit? wheres the power band on a stock cam?

anyone know where peak power is on a stock 4k? ive taken mine to 7000 and slid my foot sideways off the clutch, but axle tramp isnt so cool these days :D just wondering, coz dad always whinges when i hit 4500-5000 b4 changin, its where she feels best tho... anyone with knowledge? cheers, andrew

yes indeed it would we all hate wiring coz its so small and insignifigant, and when u throw a rod its pretty bloody obvious, but with wiring its more tracing and thinking, checking and guessing, no one likes that shit

no he "does work" for the afore mentioned engineer, not actually works for him in the sense the engineer is his boss...i think....:D lol

simple answer: use old cars or run gas, i do both :D hehe i know its not overkill, just seems it sometimes.
