  2. i asked on toymods today and they seem to think in an unleaded engine the upper cylinder lubrication isnt needed, norbie said that so I'm incline to believe him. spoke to the seller, he now says the turbos were the source of the smoke. so now all I'm left to work it is reason for all the noise, he told me it was noisy ever since he bought it. but do i believe him, I'm not sure what do people think? ~andrew~
  3. ra60 front struts and brakes and adjustable coilovers, rear lsd with disk brakes, and if i get properly made mounts, why will it be soo difficult to get engineered? from what i understand Gaijun doru (speeling?) had his on the road didnt he? ~andrew~
  4. lol ok at least i don't feel like a total idiot i see where u are coming from with the 4 cylynder theory, and it does make sense, but a like the smoother torque delivery from a straight 6, but I'm still thinking checked google, nothing definitive but from what i could find it would appear 175kg is the weight of a 1ggte not sure tho, there wasnt alot of info on there, or maybe i used the rong words :D i know the 4kc is about 110, rite?, so 60 kgs extra, battery in the back along with all the extra weight already there basiclly rebalances the weight distribution. however from what ur saying u don't like it coz the weight hangs too far forward rite? so it will be a bit front heavy, or tail happy? how much of a problem will this be for me on the streets, with some good suspension, lsd and bigger brakes the handling shouldnt be any worse than it is now with 20 yr old everything rite? thanks ~andrew~
  5. sorry bout the wrong section thingy, i was new to rollaclub, and I'm still yet to locate the noobzone lol, i did look. i actually forgot i started this thread as i didnt do the whole email notification thing HOWEVER.... the reason i said that the 4a's arnt good (personal opinion) is because of the fact that stock they still do not make alot of power and being a 1.6 lack torque. i plan on driving this car as a daily driver and as a commodore and wrx killer. i am planning on having good suspension and brakes, and this will be done before i do (if i do) an engine conversion. i am looking to go for something with some good power in its stock form, as mods are expensive and dad tends to get twitchy when i talk mods. lol twisty and downhill...mt tamborine, bollucks to that, id kill myself in that bloody ke70, i do like the idea of all new rubbers, I'm gradually replacing all suspension bits to stiffen her up a bit. the engine I'm thinkin about atm is a 1ggte however people are saying about issues with handling, anyone know approx weight of a 1g? the 4k with gbox is a bit over 100 kgs rite? plus i have 2 12" subs and box in boot, so this will balance it a bit, would the handling be bad, or just not brilliant? thanks for the help guys ~andrew~

  7. ok thanks guys, so basically the engine didnt get enough lube, becuase it was burning gas instead of petrol. and the damage that has been caused would be? all the bottom end will still be good rite? just the head will have damage? what damage mite we be talkin? sorry took so long replyin ive been at schoolies all week :D
  8. yeah from my talking with him he's a lazy fella lol he 'sold' his wheels and front suspension (2 seperate transactions) and then can never be bothered taking them off the car and shipping them so he doesnt actually sell them, just lets the sale fall thru. hence why he wants me to take the whole car lol so what sort of damage can we presume has been done to that engine due to its lack of upper cylinder lube (?) 2000 can get me alot of things, including a 1ggte, w57, alfa lsd, 15*8 and 15*7 wheels, modded to fit ke70 ra60 front struts and adjustable coilovers, lpg setup, and a 'straight' ke70. is that good? from what i can work out its prob not a bad deal as i could sell all the parts off if i never use them.... any thoughts? thanks ~andrew~ p.s. i graduated today :( :( :lolcry: :(
  9. yeah gaijun doru, is he the same bloke as 1g-gte ke70 on toymods? i think it is, saw him tryna sell his wheels here I'm actually lookin at buyin his whole setup and puttin it into my 70, 2000 he wants for it he never would say what happened to the engine lol on upper cylinder lubrication? what does that mean and what will the damage be? what mite u say is a better conversion to do? with suspension if u have adjustable coilovers on strong springs and bilstein shocks, would that help my cause in the handling department, coz i really do like my firewall the way it is thanks guys, I'm interested to here more, as I'm thinking 2000 for everything i need to get a 1g into my car is good, and if the damage isnt serious ill just rebuild, if not a new engine isnt too hard to find with no ecu thanks again ~andrew~
  10. hey guys I'm just wonderin do people think a 1ggte is too heavy in a ke70? running on gas with tank in boot and battery in boot, along with about 40 or 50 kilo of subs box and amps? this would probably balance alright wouldnt it? thanks ~andrew~
  11. hey there sorry bout never replyin i never clicked the subscribe to topic thing, i was a noob lol anywho I'm in brissie so yeah Aus standards, the diagram says 4k-c KE(M/T) Aus. so I'm guessin they aussie standards, i tried to upload image but the computer went ghey. i can prob email u someone one if u care enough to wanna see anywho catchyas ~andrew~
  12. ok sounds like uve got it out now but my experience when i took mine out was that the end that actually went onto the gearbox came off leaving just the metal end, and if u could force the little rubber boot thing thats around the cable end of the cable before the metal attachment to the gearbox thru the hole in the bellhousing it would come out, may be wrong tho, it was a while ago and wasnt payin alota attention lol ~andrew~
  13. ive towed about 500 kg in my ke70, she goes alot better once u take it off, sorta freshens her up a bit for some reason the 4kc's are unbreakable, so i do my best to test this theory. u should feel her struggle at 30 km at 3rd with the trailer on lol, i wouldnt be scared towin with her, unless u have some need to get to 100 km in under 5 mins :harhar:

  15. ok heres the go, i have a ke70 corolla which has a fire breathing 4k, serious power there, but all those 30 kilowatts have told me that i need more, so i am askin what would go well. ive looked at 4a, but al;l the good ones are fwd and not all that great, what would fit with only a bit of stuffing around and give me some serious road-drivable power? thanks guys ~andrew~
