maybe if the fins were made black then yes, but spraypaint no. because by painting it you reduce its other ability to cool, which is much greater than the small gain from the different colour. you have to think about the clogging and insulating the paint will have, as metal conducts heat better than paint

i disagree, the cooler works by dispersing the heat in the air to the fins and the fins disperse this heat to the atmosphere. by painting them it reduces their ability to do this

why reformat when you can just use restore points? don't they do the same thing, only a little less destructively?

ill bung the apron on after work today, it sits much lower the bottom of the guards from what i remember. we'll have to see air con is not yet in, and at the moment ive worked out that a different aircon rad will be needed if i am to get it in, its all a work in progress. i quite like it, and if it pisses me off too much ill move it radiator would be a serious job to move, as it doesnt sit ontop of the rail like the original did. so that means to move the radiator to outside the bay i would have to put it outside and lower than the front rail to clear the bonnet and the the bottom hose will have to come under the rail and then into the bay. irokin, i never thought spray painting intercoolers was a good idea, reduces its cooling ability apparently. i assume the paint would insulate the fins :( jason, if i do kill this one, i will look at something different, but lets not throw this idea away just coz it might catch a few things, just get a wheel on the curb then swing in and it wont be an issue i think, or reverse :cool: nick, i don't see any sharp edges, and its well behind the bumper like said up there ^ ill try something if i f@$k this one up. but lets have a little faith and try something different :) rolla boy, a replacement core is probably only about 150-200 dollars, in the greater scheme of things its fairly cheap i know it wasnt built for a straight 6, thats why i love having one :( felix, I'm not an idiot, i'm in the process of setting it up running blow through

its cheaper than firewall mods to move the engine further back to fit the thermo fan on the other side so i can then modify the centre grill brackets to make the intercooler sit up there. and its also cheaper than getting a different front bar modified and then engineered. if i do end up wasting this cooler maybe something smaller but I'm rating my chances at the moment :cool: jamie: the wheelbarrow rolled onto the apron tonight (lol) as i was shutting the other shed, but ill see if i can bend it back to some resemblance of its former self and whack her back on. if not ill grab the current daily and sit them side by side so you can see, coz the dialy is stock height, wheras this is lowered via adjustable coilovers. i think most moderate speedhumps are a fair notch lower than 160mm, and if not, I'm up shit creek, but we'll have to see how i go, its worth a shot ill see how my flow goes, as it stands i have about 2", maybe more, between intercooler and rear edge of bumper because it sits below the motor of the thermofan, so I'm of the impression air will hit and flow up and through that higher part still hidden, will be interesting to see what happens. once shes goin she'll be gettin a good flog around the backyard for a while til i can get it onto the road....that should sort the men from the boys, bald rear tyres and grass + a 50m by 50m patch of grass with a whole bunch of trees...can't wait :) considering i can go and go with the 4k spinnin wheels down there can't wait to try it under boost hehe but yeah, i will be very cautious in my first experiences and hopefully speed bumps are less than 160mm tall :( cheers guys

did those work? i once got one...somehow....and it was evil, and wouldnt go away even with 3 anti spyware and norton anti virus so i realised there is a very simple way to get rid of recently attained viruses. just do a system restore to the closest time before you got these viruses, you wont lose any saved things like word docs etc, just anything that uve installed after that time. works a treat and if it only happened today then its likely you havnt installed anything that you'll miss/can't replace hope this helps :cool:

hey benne just re-read thru this and realised you've added your plans, looks pretty good, i don't know too much about most of it, but one thing what struck me was how far back you planned to mount the engine, it may balance/wprk alright, but i wouldnt have though that puttin it that far back would be all that great for drift...my 2c :cool: have you made any progress yet? cheers mate

well its done! ta daa!!! well thats where shes gonna sit for a while, just gotta trim the brackets and clean them back anf give them a coat of gloss black or chrome. whats peoples opinions? i would have cut them to length tonight but they complained at 10 as i was bashing the shit out of a peice of steel in vice gently persauding it to bend where i wanted it. school desk frames have some good metal in them :cool: so yeah guys, any opinions? just avoid curbs in parking lots and i reckon I'm pretty safe :) hmm, i really should stand still when taking photos, and maybe even look a bit more closely at what the outcome will be....meh theyre informative, not artistic :(

just an idea, why not bung it into neutral when stopping rather than downshifting, i tend to knock my car into neutral as i start braking whenever I'm coming to a complete stop, more work for the brakes as there is no engine braking but it might stop your problem of jamming in gear no experience with t-50's just my k50 which crunches second on some occasions and first gives a metallic ringing when tryna go 3rd-->1st at ~30 k's. always amusing, i just blame the L plates :cool:

it wont fit that side, i had the radiator out and everything 2 days ago tryna fit it, but there seriously isnt room anywhere on that side 160 mm isnt excessively low, and ive got the mesh which is actually tuffer than it looks.

yes. teddy, thanks for the offer and whenever your passing the pie shop you know ur only a couple of minutes away and always welcome. i never made up a cardboard replica but ive been buggering around with the actual intercooler, and ive had the entire front end stripped out. i could put it higher by chopping off the brackets for the centre grill thingy but if i do that because of the thermofan the intercooler is pressed against the bumper and 200mm of the cooler is blocked so even tho i could make it fit, it would be pointless :P so ill run the risk and put it low, see what happens :y:

pfft careful, theres a fair bit of oil around one side of it tho, gonna have to look into that. but yeah, this car was used for drifting with this diff so I'm pretty sure itll hold up to a fair bit of punishment I'm tempted to put my spare ke70 diff in once its running, and drop the clutch...fun to see the result :P hehe
