yes you are correct, but often people don't stay legal, and i was just saying for rolla70's benefit incase he wasnt aware. if you look at the first pic by fayt, i doubt the rolling diameter on those is the same as the rolling diameter on 13" stocks, but anywho :P its all good

hmm, I'm not arguein, but the way i see it the diff ratio is 4.3:1 and thats alright with 13" wheels, and lets pull some numbers out of our arse here, and lets say that the 13" rubber is 1.5 metres for one revolution, that goes alright, although somewhat sluggish with the low torque 4k, so we put 17"s on and lets say one revoltion is now 2 metres, so basically to turn the wheels once is a longer distance, so to do this at the same acceleration rate as with the 1.5 metre 13"s you need more torque, or a different diff ratio. thats the way i see it anyway... :P

i was more thinking the effect of a larger diameter ie 17's and what not, apparently to go from 13's to 17's is similiar to losing 20 hp on acceleration, just something to keep in mind when the 4k doesnt push too much more than 20 hp lol at the moment the rims arnt too shiny at all, it looks like that silver spray you by in a can, really not cool :P i could get them sprayed to be proper shiny couldnt i? i think it'll look really good, might have a nerdy hour and see if i can do a chop lol. but i doubt i can :P really not my thing, ill give it a go, its what its all about ;)

what slapper said is exactly what ive been thinking, he just has a way with words, no paint for me :P i mean, if i wanted to paint it i could just paint the end tanks and the metal mesh ive put across the front that covers the core, but i don't want to :P

nope, i followed a link...ok wtf, i swear the link was in this thread...well anywho i followed a link in a topic on rollaclub and re-discovered them. but do you think the pink centre chrome dish will look good on these wheels? i do, but I'm wrong most of the time lol plus keeping track up with trends is far too expensive, ill just have to decide somethin and atm I'm liking what ive said....but getting wheels painted wont be for a while, was just chasing some opinions :P only traction :P i was just sayin for the sake of appearing to be keeping on topic to rolla70 that big wheels means an even slower lauch than normal.

wow its amazing how things just pop up every now and then when uve been thinking about them for a while i remembered seeing these wheels http://au.boostcruising.com/database/membe...347pslfile1.jpg and as really the rims on the 1g ke70 need a respray as there are rust marks on them :) i was thinking of doing something like that, with the pink centre and chrome dish and then i could even incorporate pink of somesort into the respray, like a colour with pink pearl :( heres a pic of the car with the wheels, gives a good enough idea of what the rims are like what do people reckon to doing them like those in the link up there^ ? cheers guys, sorry for the hi-jack :cool: like every one has said spacers are the go, and no chrome in my opinion, but i don't need spacers and on the rear theyre 15*8 also, the bigger your wheels the slower your accelation, and if your ke70 is stock, we all know that the launch in a ke70 is a piss poor attempt at movement :wink:

ah, so ball bearing turbos are so great because they are good for high psi. irokin, yes much much research to be done, and before that lots and lots of driving, the 4k still gives me a handful when i try i love twisty backroads *looks wistfully into the distance* :wink: what sort of factors would we be talking? like a/r ratios whatever they are coz they effect the amount of lag don't they? i mean the *ultimate* dream would be to run a twincharged system with something in the vicinity of 25psi, but thats a long way off, i don't wanna die just yet :) but i got munched by a (i think) 98 falcon today with exhaust and body kit goin down a hill, round a roundabout and onto the highway. but i think i held on quite well, coz he went off and i took the same exit and 2 roundabouts later he crossed a double white to go past a truck :( he musta got upset coz i didnt disappear completely, then the truck waved me past a bit later on and i was back with the falcon and i was only out of his mirror once i turned into my street :hmm: the 1g will show him :cool: all on private roads of course ;) felix, thats exactly right my friend ;)
