Hi all, I have a 1979 ke55 corolla sedan with a 4k motor. My clutch recently burnt out, at the worst time (330am whilst heading into town to pick up the missus), anyways I have a clutch on the way and I have no idea how to change it out, I managed to order a gregory manual for the ke55 to come with the clutch kit, just seeing if I could get some help and advice from here. Like what tools will I need, what fluids should I buy before I start etc. Also if people have good knowledge of how to do it, a step by step guide would be awesome! I'm being given a 4k and a bigport 3k. I'm going to put bigport head and manifolds on the 4k (if in decent condish) seeing i have it. Basically i need to know what things need to be changed to fit in ke10 to keep the standard gearbox? its a daily so id prefer to know what needs to be done before changing. Will the standard 4k flywheel/clutch etc work with the standard ke10 4 speed? Pretty sure thats the only thing that I can think of that may need to be changed. Cheers,

Hi all, just wanting to gather some information on cam selection. i have a 4k motor with a webber 32/36 exhaust and extractors and a mild head recondition. spoke to a bloke today at waggott cam and he reccommended a 212 grind?? just wondering what grind i should look for, i use the car as a daily and i want to get the most out of her. with a nice lumpy idle of course ;) cheers Nathan

hi guys, i have a 1977 ke35 with a little 3k (manual) ... I kind just finished the car and i don't really want to change the motor, cause if i do a can't drive it (P-Plate). Iv been driving it around and i want a little more power i guess. The engine is all stock. I'm not really experienced with toyota engines, what part fits what model, etc. So could i get some ideas on carbies, extractors, fuel pumps, cranks, exhaust, gear box, diff. Id like a 5 spd box. I don't want to spend more that 1500. 2000 if i have to. i don't really know whats the easiest way to get more power in these engines so all help is needed :bash: Thanks...

Hi all i have a 1979 ke55 with a 5speed k50. Just wanting to know what i can do to this motor to get more power out of it? like exhaust, carbys, cams and things like that. i am on my p plates in NSW so i am somewhat restricted to swapping the engine. Any Ideas?? thanks heaps Nathan

ive herd about people putting double valve springs in 4k to help preformance, was just wanting to kno what exactally this does? how does it help? cheers guys

gday i have a liteace with a 4kc engine. it is fitted with a dual battery syspem but the standard alt can't keep up with it. are there any other alternators that have a higher ampage that will go in easy?
