Gday, I've got an 82 liteace, with a 4k in it. the 4k is shagged, and i want something better as i live in a hilly area and carry a fair load with it. i had a 1y powered hilux thrown at me the other day and the engine and box (colum 4 speed like the van) are in really good nick. So what I'm askin, is do people do Y into K series cars? I can't find any info on these swaps. Any info would be appreciated :) Cheers, Jake

Gday hello! I'm Jake. I live in a LiteAce van. It's my palace. Bought the bus for $400 last year. Coat of paint, set of wheels, bull bar and a tow pack and the old girl looks overrated. I've got 2 inch blocks in.the.rear, wound down the front so it sits awesome. Bitches be lovin it. On the back is a rear bar from a KE55. And chome roof racks from a bluebird wagon. To add some shiny. Inside is a dual battery kit, 1000w power inverter, solar inverter with a 700x600 panel mounted to the racks. I've got a bed, 2 sets of draws, a sink and a fridge. For sound I have a Sony H.U with.kicker 6s up front, Sony 6x9s in the back, Fusion 5 inch splits in the roof (amped, Fusion), and a US Audio 12 inch sub under the sink. So obviously its a babe magnet love machine. I'm rockin a 4K 4 speed atm but I want 5K love for a little extra awesome. As this burns a good 2L of awesome every week :/ Anyway enjoy your perve, I'm out!

GDay I'm Jake. New to Vic. I drive an 82 LiteAce. It's amazingly fantastic. It's called the love bus. I'm driving it around Australia over the next few years. It packs a power house 4K engine with a 4 speed column shift and lowered on 15s. Gangster. I'd like to get out to meets ect. Back in Tas I could go out every weekend and cruise with a group or park somewhere and talk shit for ages. Good way to meet new people in the scene. Does this happen here? If so how do I get amongst it? Anyway here's a picture of his majesty. Enjoy.

I'd like to get out and have a look. I'm from Tassie and know that on a Friday or Saturday night I can roll up to one of 4 or 5 meet spots around the city and talk shit with a few. Does this actually happen here? Would be cool to meet some 'car' people over here, my friends are getting sick of me talking cars at them haha

gday i have a liteace with a 4kc engine. it is fitted with a dual battery syspem but the standard alt can't keep up with it. are there any other alternators that have a higher ampage that will go in easy?

thanks alot for your help fellas! yea it is the colum shift 4spd. goes alot better than my stanza and my ke30, lite and small as buggery, really cheap on juice too. ive only put $10 bucks in it so far and done a fair amount of driving. should be groovin :)

so dad had his freshly rebuilt datto 1600 on stands in the shed, he'd just ran the first lot of oil through it, done its 1st 1000ks and was swappin the oil. gets a phone call and pisses off in mums car, something for work. so mum, heavily pregnant with my sister, needs to go to town for scans or some shit. goes into the shed, finds a 5l oil container, proceeds to pour a few litres of green oil into the car. drops off stands, checks dipstick, level of green fluid is fine, drives 50ks to hobart, suddenly realizes oil isnt green. so she calls my uncle who asks if it was a mobile oil bottle, then tells her that was dishwashing liquid he'd given dad. he arranges for a tow, get home and tries to remove the dipstick, the liquid has set like jelly. so dad puts the old motor in it, pulls the good one to pieces and cleans it all. nothing is damaged, yet there is still a box full of parts next to an empty block on his shelf about 20 years later. i also saw my cousin holding a mechanical fuel pump he'd just pulled off his bluebird, blowing the contents back into his fuel tank. all 15ml of petrol, you cheap prick. other silly things, my brothers radiator is currently attached to his 120y with a coat hanger, and nothing else. my brothers saab's thermostat broke, so he attached a switch and sat that under his bonnet, just hanging there. my brothers 120y only had 1 engine mount for a large period of time. in all my brothers very dodgy. silliest think ive ever done, i bought a ke55 with rego and a dropped bearing for $50. i put an engine in it, and gave it to my missus. i maintained it, put a new exhaust on it, a better engine and box in it, then when we broke up, i let her take it. smack.
