Taz_Rx Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 Reason I ask is because every other k dizzy I have seen has a little flat lobe (like a flat head screw driver) hanging off the bottom of it that goes into the key way you can see down the dizzy hole. I'm not 100% sure, but I always assumed this was for the oil pump, so the cam drives the dizzy and the dizzy drives the oil pump. Please correct me if I'm wrong, because assumption is the mother of all f@$k ups!!!! The slot wear the bolt goes through is also different to what I've previously seen. Quote
Redwarf Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 (edited) Hmmmmm, doesn't look like one. You're right, K dizzys have the tang hanging off the bottom of the shaft for oil pump operation. No clues as to what that one is off though. R *edit*: looks a bit Datsun L motor-ish. Edited April 22, 2007 by Redwarf Quote

Raven Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 I've got one and yes, I can confirm that they do have that horizontal piece on the bottom that slots into the key-way of the oil pump. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted April 22, 2007 Author Report Posted April 22, 2007 Hmm, well didn't I get stooged then, cause I bought 2 of them!!! :) Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 NOT A K DIZZY... Well if you bought 2 of them pull one apart. What brand is the dizzy? I know bosch make a lot of there stuff universal SO pull the internals out of that dizzy and try to fit it into a K points dizzy housing? As The old bosh kit that used a hall effect sensor you could buy for your dizzy that would fit a K motor inst made anymore BUT I was pulling apart my dads holden 202 dizzy that has the kit in it and what do you know. The magnets that are placed on the main shaft if you pull the 6 out and realign them into other holes on the magnet mount it has 4 or do it again for 8. So I know if pulling this dizzy apart get a Bosch electronic ignition kit for a holden it should fit a K motor from what I have seen. So hey tinker with it make that dizzy work on a K motor. dharshana bandara Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 yes of cause dear.it is 4K-U electronic dizzy for k motor with Japanese domestic emission controls.is missing the tightening clamp?it's tag code is Nippon denso 4k-u.it suit for any k motor but use it with external igniter module unit.because this dizzy has only pickup coil.use Toyota cressida/Tacoma igniter module or Bosch BIM024 ignition module.please refer this link.(http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/46089-how-to-install-an-electronic-distributor/) use it well.
