Yeah, after having it on for a while, the rear bar looks like it's sticking out too much now. Need to do something about it, but I'm not sure what. dude were did you get those fender mirrors Hey, I bought them from my local supercheap store. Didn't plan on getting them at all, just saw them and thought 'why not'. Paid $40 for the pair I think.. WHAT DO I DO ABOUT THE REAR BAR!?!?!?!?!?!? :bash: I can't weld... Quote
adam-__- Posted August 16, 2008 Author Report Posted August 16, 2008 (edited) Okay I finally got my rear bar mounted. Looks a bit dodgy and the way I went about mounting it was dodgy too! Not knowing how to weld sucks. Here are the pics anyway. I did the best I could to get it sitting right. Seems to hit the sides though, not sure how those other guys went about getting over it though. Doesn't look too bad from a distance, but pretty shocking up close. Edit: I just remembered that these photos were taken BEFORE I actually mounted it. With it mounted it sits pretty much in the same position as in photos anyway.. irokin Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 The real killer is the difference in the angles of the end plates IMO. I suppose there isn't much you can do about it? Quote
adam-__- Posted August 16, 2008 Author Report Posted August 16, 2008 I think bogging it up or something will work and look nice, something like Daim's ride, but then I'll need to respray which I'm not too keen on at the moment. It does look a little 'not quite right' but yeah, nothing I can really do at this stage. Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 Could ya flip the rear bar the other way, and mount the number plate lights on the other side? make sense? Quote
aecorolla Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 (edited) Could ya flip the rear bar the other way, and mount the number plate lights on the other side? make sense? Excellent idea. Makes sense in theory but there might be a couple of things on the underside that could make it look dodgy. Edited August 16, 2008 by aecorolla Quote
adam-__- Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Posted August 17, 2008 Could ya flip the rear bar the other way, and mount the number plate lights on the other side? make sense? Yeah, I (well my dad) was thinking that at one stage. It could probably work, but I don't want to pull it off now that it's on to be honest. Was a pain in the arse to mount in the correct position. I'll probably give that a go if I get bored though. :bash: Excellent idea.Makes sense in theory but there might be a couple of things on the underside that could make it look dodgy. There's nothing really wrong with the underside of the bar if I can remember correctly. Will just have to drill new holes for the number plate light, nothing major. The bars don't look too bad overall though. I'm happy with them. Up close it's pretty bad, both the front and back, but it'll do. Quote
adam-__- Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) I've just come back from doing a little something with my wheels. Some of you might know that I was never really happy with my front wheel's fitment and feel like getting a new pair. I'm not too sure as to what specs I would need to get the look I'm after for the fronts so I thought I would just trial fit my rear wheels on the front and decide from that. Here are a few photos. This is my rear wheels, 15x7.5 -8 with 185/55 tyres on the front and front wheels, 15x7 +5 185/55 tyres on the rear. Favourite pic. Here are some more pictures to show how my front wheels would look on the rears. I reckon these would be PERFECT for just rolled E7 guards. 14mm socket to show how large the gap is. And below is the same, but with the rear wheels up front. I think I'm gonna purchase new wheels for the rear and put my current rears up front. Edit: I forgot to mention, MY FRONT WHEELS ARE FOR SALE!!! They come with tyres which have legal tread. I'm thinking $450ono for them. Edited August 17, 2008 by adam-__- Quote
Roo Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 hmm i want them wheels! but why do i have to live so far away Quote
Johnjimo Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) I know this might sounds silly, but looking at those bumpers, it looks like you could have them upside down? The ends appear as if they'd fit into those indentation thingos if they were the other way up. (excuse the awesome noob non knowing much about car lingo) Can anyone else see that? EDIT: seems it's already been answered. Sorry guys. I'm sure you could flip it over. Shame you weren't in Sydney, could have organised welding and sheetmetal if you needed it, I'm a Light Metal Fabricator (Sheetmetal) Cheers Edited August 17, 2008 by Johnjimo Quote

Will just have to learn how to weld or something first. Nothing important at the moment though. Cheers Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 I got some T18 bars in shed, might actually have a look at them later. The wheels look hot on the front, fills the guards nicely!!! Quote
adam-__- Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) My rollaclub stickers turned up in my letter box today and here are some pics of them on my car. I put them in positions you wouldn't normally put them so I'm unique. Here are some more pictures of the 7.5" -8 wheels up front. This time I kept them in the rear as well just to see how it'll look. I was planning on getting 15x8.5 -10s for the rear once I sell my front pair, but they're so expensive!! I can't afford! So I'm thinking of just getting some 15x8s -2, they'll sit pretty much how my rears currently are, but will have more stretch. More stretch means more guard clearance meaning I'll have to and will probably use spacers to make them flush again. The 8.5s start at around 60,000 yen and the 8" start at 30,000yen. Only reason why I'm even considering 8" which sit as they do now. :sob: Edit: The way I spelt something gave a picture of a guy that looks like this  Edited August 20, 2008 by adam-__- Quote
