ancullen Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 I agree. The old Mini should've been included. I was pretty glad they've finally included the 4-cylinder Galant VR4 (not the later V6 versions). As to all of you out there without PS2's, I previously only had a PC and then went and bought a PS2 JUST for the GT games. I have GT1, GT2, GT3, GT Concept, and now GT4. I skipped Prologue because I didn't really see the point, and a mate loaned it to me anyway, so I've been able to skip the first two licence tests. I haven't taken advantage of the bonus 100,000 credits from GT3 though, as it would seem a bit like cheating. Another (small) problem I have with the game is that you can't use supercharging with NA tuning or turbos. It'd be pretty cool if you could. And some Corolla's (aside from the WRC version) should be included. And hopefully one day they'll include engine swaps (in my dreams)! Quote
Nitephyre Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 hell yea, i wanted more rolla's  i didn't get $100,000 from gta3 :D only got 23k or so.. :/ Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 12, 2005 Author Report Posted March 12, 2005 i used to own a ps1 just to play gt and tekken. with the release of ps2 there are more good games coming out. socom, midnight club, more tekkens  there's an 02 corolla runx in the game somewhere, like a zze122 thing, i've raced against it does your gt3 savegame only have 23k in it? you can import "up to" 100k Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 13, 2005 Author Report Posted March 13, 2005 there's also the obligatory ae86, as well as the shigeno piece of crap. and the ae92 levin bz-r from gt2, which i used to love driving. i was keen for a te27 tho, who wants to drive a ta22 or a million different old skylines, drop one of them i reckon :P Quote
ancullen Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 The Shigeno 'piece of crap'!?! What's wrong the Shigeno version? It sounds cool, and in GT3 it went like a shower of shit from stock, and even better when you added a turbo. Who else is sick of the number of repeat cars in GT3 and GT4. What I mean is, not the ones repeated between games, but the number of JGTC racing Supra's, Skylines, and NSX's with the same outputs, but different paintwork. The makers of GT4 could have dropped about 20 cars if they got rid of most of these cars (and just left one of each to sample). That way instead of a 600Hp Skyline we could have been driving more old Corollas! Strangely enough this actually does sound appealing, but then, the Skylines do get really boring. Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 15, 2005 Author Report Posted March 15, 2005 i have sprinter issues in real life, so excuse my ranting. the gt3 shigeno is pathetic, it's 212hp trying to get to the ground through 165mm tyres, its' powerband means you have to drive it on the edge all the time, and i really just don't have that much patience for a sprinter. and forum drifters who use them think they're the best car in the game and won't listen to reason about anything else. i have bought it for my garage in gt4, i should do a few laps in it and see if it's any better i agree with you on the car selection. i don't particularly give a rats ass about the finer points between an acura / honda nsx, or the concept / production rx8, or even most of the spaceship looking concepts that you can just tell are never going to be put into production, maybe that was manufacturer blackmail to get the rest of the specs for the cars they wanted there are differences, sometimes quite large ones, between all the jgtc cars, but having 5+ of the same bloody thing does get boring. 2 or 3 (such as supras in gt3) were more than sufficient. i would have liked to have seen more gt2 cars included in the game (JAMIE WANTS HIS DAISHIN SILVIA), as well as things like standard lancers and rwd skylines after R32s. and pikes peak track instead of some of the stupid crap they've come up with (i hate suzuka). and be able to race the caterham seven, which i have wanted in a racing sim since gt1, and we finally get it and can't use it, tops :sly: several things like this are annoying me about gt4 as well, but this is what we've got so i guess all we can do is get used to it :P Quote
Xany Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 whats pissing me off with the game is the amount of races you have to do if you havent got money to start with......i've done at least 40 - 60 races and i still havent got a car that is top spec in everything....its really shitting me off. also.....the cars you win are absolutely CRAP when you start out.....theres nothing worth driving at all..... Teddy Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Ahhhh. My car atm is a 500RW/KW Skyline that does a 10.6 Really does good skids and drifts. :P Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 15, 2005 Author Report Posted March 15, 2005 do the japanese hall. the first race gets you a fairlady Z LM concept, it's got like 600+hp and you can upgrade that to about 900hp. you can also sell it for like 320000 Cr, and if you do the first race of a cup again, you can choose to erase the win data and win the car again. repeat until rich the japan 90s cup gets you the nismo 400r, which is one of my favorite cars in the game. even stock it kicks ass :P also, train your b-spec driver up by putting him in different cars and on different tracks. the more evenly matched he is, the more his skills will build. even if he loses, he gains skills. he can win you money quicker because you can accelerate the game to 3x in b-spec mode, and you'll need him for the endurance races anyway i'm having fun buying second hand cars and racing them stock, never mind stuff you win. i like to keep races as close as i can, give the game a bit of excitement and challenge, makes you a better driver too here's the prizecar list off gamefaqs http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/gr..._4_na_prize.txt i'm gettin into the gtplanet.net forums alot too, the race series is a good way to improve your driving skill as well Quote
demuire Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 I play LFS1 last night, so uber fun. I can't wait for LFS2 :P Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 no hijacking the thread, gt4 is better! and besides, our next versions actually do come out :P Quote
Xany Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 i thought the GT series was strictly Playstation only..... have the others come out on XBOX yet? Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 no but you can get psx and ps2 emulators for xbox. if i had an xbox, i probably would never play xbox games, just emulator stuff Quote
kangaroosa Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Check this little bloke out. Apparently its a perfect run in GT4. http://www.sexnfun.net/2005/03/gt4child.html Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 that little kid is a bastard, he drives better than me =) check out the drifting forum on http://www.gtplanet.net/ people have started to release gt4 drift videos. the midnight club ae86 video has some pretty damn impressive slides in it gt4 is so hard to drift properly in :lovin: it's also like a real car where you get broad and think "whoa yeah that was out there" and it looks like crap ;) Quote
