Hey everyone. Have recently just left a deposit on bezenders ke36. And will be picking it up within a few weeks  thought I'd chuck this up now as I'm bored ATM lol. Anyways will update as things go along.

Plans are gettig running a1 and intercool I and later on efi. After Nikki gets her full license we'll upgrade it to a 5kte :hmm: but ATM we gotta get an approval for her to drive a turbo car as it is. And that will stick to the engine number and car that it is now. Pics will go up later as on my phone now.

Lol thanks mate  gonna be pretty sweet having two ke36 wagons :hmm:

will most likely using a intercooler of an xr6t. Carter fuel pump that's coming with the car we'll be using as a lift pump to a surge tank then using a vlt fuel pump out of my vl as it needs upgrading anyways lol. Then take it to websters and see how much boost we can push through the 4ktc >|

You can run 20psi on that turbo,...... but don't expect it to last longer than a week.

The 360 degree thrust washer turbos will only like about 15psi max. The shaft speed required for 20psi will just fly out the bearings.

Basically you need a ball bearing turbo if you want that sort of psi...... same drama I have at the mo.

Good luck with this car >|

I don't want to be all negative but this has been through a few owners here in Adelaide with not much success at running all that well

I hope you can change the trend :hmm:

Yeah I've noticed that too...... although I don't think anybody has really put any research or effort into getting it running properly.

No offence meant to him - but I don't think Benzeder even did anything to it....except for shitting a fuel pump,.....because the fuel system was not set up properly.

I didnt think that there was much point in running an efi pump on a carby setup anyway, well i guess you have boost but the fuel system wouldnt be able to cope with the efi pressure and be able to release the built up fuel, i could be wrong....

Yep you are!!

Have a look at the "How to setup your fuel system" thread in the tech section if you're interested. Carby turbo fuel systems are more similar to an EFI setup than a conventional carby setup.

Well in that case si I might not turn it above 15psi on this turbo. And may have to invest in Garrett t28 of some sort see if I can get any with a 0.48 rear for the little 1.3 banger

and your tech thread on the how to set up a fuel system will help me alot with this car :hmm: one other thing. For the wiring to the fuel pumps. Should I run them through a relay and fuse? Or just a fuse?

And don't worry we'll be getting it running right for sure >| and hopefully shouldn't take to long either

If you want a .48 rear then try and find yourself a T25G.

Yeah mate, always run power for things like a fuel pump of thermo fan etc through a relay. I also used to run the power for the VL pump through a ballast resistor (just an old coil one) as well to drop the output a little bit. You don't need all of what that pump will put out for a carby K.

It shouldn't take too long to sort it. Probably just the fuel system, but also make sure somthing has been done about ignition so you don't blow HG's.

Well really i think I'd rather a 0.64. Which I'm guessing this turbo on there now is? Wanna do it once and do it right with the turbo. Has to be enough to flow for the eventual 5kte

also what would you recommend doing with the ignition system si?
