Trev Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Thought of this the other night when I sat down at my local RSL eating a pizza, I thought I would order the works as it had a good range of toppings but unfortunately I didn't read them all and after half a pizza down I was tasting a salty piece of shit (anchovies for the unknown) which lead me to how I got to know what one was. Anyway I always thought that an anchovy was a type of pepperoni until about 2 years ago (maybe less) when I was watching the Futurama episode where Fry becomes rich and outbids MOM on a can, after that episode I was off to the local supermarket to buy a can and from that day on I opted to never to eat the stinky shit again but I did. So what have cartoons taught you? Quote

philbey Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Simpsons (and MAD Magazines) have allowed me to know the storyline for so many movies, without actually having seen them! Quote
Fatty Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 'The Simpsons' has helped me to understand my philosophy and ethics course at uni. Honestly, if the class has no idea what a particular perspective underpins our tutor does the whole "well if you think of the episode of The Simpsons where ....", and it's like a giant light bulb goes on over every students head. I would be failing uni if it wasn't for Homer and Bart!!! Monty Python, although not a cartoon, is also particularly helpful :jamie: Quote
irokin Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Moe: Geez, this hot rod is souped up six ways from Sunday! Never had you figured for a gearhead, Homer. Homer: Oh yeah, I'm a real expert. Moe: What is that, a six barrel holley carb? Homer: You betcha! Moe: edelbrock intakes? Homer: Nothing but. Moe: Miyahoff lifters? Homer: Ah yeah. Moe: I made that last one up! Homer: I see. Quote
