  • I'm sure that won't happen here, as we're more mature than that.

  • Yea. Yet to be seen whether the rep system will be useful. I can think of a couple of situations in the past month where it would have come in handy. It comes with the software, wasn't a conscious add

What kind of phone? I've been using it all day and haven't had any issues.

yeah same here, the mobile site is great, nice and easy to get around now (I'm using HTC desire). and loads up quite fast.

To tell you the truth the only thing i'm finding a pain in the arse is the topics i've subscribed to. Like the only way that i found my build thread is by going into my contents page and looking through page after page after page to find it. Was starting to think it might have been easier to do a search for it

Edit - Meh, didn't look hard enough at the layout of the content page - over to the right side a drop down bit, click on it and then click on "View all topics towe001 has started" click "update"

Now just have to figure out how to delete some of it :P

Doesn't seem to be very effectual except in cases where someone replies to a post making a valid point, which infuriates the OP and all his mates, who then vote you down in a stunning display of the democratic process and great internet justice.

More maintenance tonight but this time by the service provider. Outage will be tonight between 09:00pm - 06:00am AEST and last for around 20 minutes.

Ok cheese :)

Pretty good of them to let you know before hand this time round:y:

Different company now :)

Its emergency maintenance too so 5 hours notice is pretty good.

Edit: Just a further update the downtime is expected to only be ~20 minutes but could happen at any time during that outage window.

I used the phone browser forum on my nokia 6120c today, so much better then waiting for the forum to load.

couple things I wanna point out

1. on mobile site I can't figure out a way of looking at my watched topics or topics i've posted in without just having to search for each topic...

2. in the for sale section (normal web browser), can you please bring back the dropdown menu to choose location?? When hunting for an item that no one will bother shipping like a motor or transmission, it's good to be able to filter out all the other states etc

3. some older threads attached images are gone. I like reading old topics instead of starting new threads for every question i've got and old pics sometimes make all the difference

none of these things are in any way a big problem though, overall the forums are MUCH nicer. just little things i wanted to point out :y: :y:

Only the FAQ and main page are still old style and it'll be good when everything's the new style i reckon

good job :y:

If your talking about Teddy's Crash Course Tutorial for one example. It was done way way back in '04 when i think the images were hosted from a different server. It'll be a case of if Teddy doesn't have the pictures someone else is going to have pick the ball and string up if their planning on doing the same and take photos and see if Teddy would be kind enough to up date his thread.

Ben's gone though as much of it as he can, as far as i know, with getting most of the pictures back up and its been a top effort in doing it.

But something you may not know is that this is at least the second time the forums been updated while i've been here and thats where a fair few pictures went walkabout.

1. I can do posted topics easy enough, watched topics you'll have to switch to the full skin.

2. Definitely. I just need time to fix the code up for the new version of the software. It will be back soon enough. I also have to stop people posting items without a location again.

3. If they're gone they're gone. Not much I can do about it unfortunately. You'll probably find theres about 2000 images missing from pre-2006 that were lost in a server move a few years back. If people have hosted them from some third party hosting service and they've deleted them (I'm looking at you photobucket) I can't do anything about that either.

I'd encourage people to use our own uploader. We can afford the space and bandwidth and the uploads are generous and easy to do now (flash multi uploader is awesome). That way as long as Rollaclub exists, so should the photos. From here on in we shouldn't lose any unless they're intentionally deleted.

I MIGHT have Teddys photos in a very old backup if I can find it. I won't guarantee anything but I will have a look for them. They were in an old old gallery system that got scrapped. I'm not sure why the images weren't saved. I think we were desperate for space back then.

I've got loads of stuff on Photobucket, and now that they're successful they are putting on the squeeze.

You have to visit your page every three months or they delete it, and they introduced a 70meg limit which you pay to go above. So you can't just 'park' images on there that you use for somewhere else, like here or Altezzaclub.

Still the free hosting was great while it was there...
