Looking at buying a T50, what's the average one worth?

there's two types, t18 t50 or ae86/ae71 t50.

-t18 box that attatches to a 3tc - $100-$200

-ae86/ae71 box that attatches to a 4age/4ac - $250-$300, but then depending if its a jdm ae86 t50 they are around $500.

my understanding is that it's the JDM bellhousing that is "Worth" the money.

 

because of the clutch slave on the other side.

 

i paid 250$ for a 20yr ae71 gbox, in usable condition. i thought that was fair.

 

i woudlnt pay any more though.

I found one that will come with an AE71 gearbox crossmember, so maybe it's an AE71 T50...

 

He wants $150.

And there is also a TA22 T50. Make sure you know which one you need, and that it comes with the shifter.

whats the difference with the ta22 box? i would have thought the bellhousing would be the same as the t18 one for use with a T series motor.

Can you put one of the AE86 T50 short shift kits off eBay into an AE71 T50?

Talked to him earlier and he said he's pretty sure it's from an AE71.

yes the short shifter will fit the AE71 box, as it's the shifter is the same as AE86,

The short shifter will also fit the T18 box and KE70 K50 box.

As they are all the rear position shifter (at the very back of the box)

Yeah that's what I was thinking also, I'll search around for a known brand one when I'm up to that stage.

check splines count. Your Ke driveshaft has 20 splines and a A-t50 has 22.

 

Ask seller if he has a driveshaft to go with the box. Making a decent coustom one costs.
