thanks Brendan it means a lot to us and we have been swamped with well wishers from every corner of this country and also from england

i went down to see him today and i found out he also has some broken ribs and i also found out what actually happened with the accident as well and it turns out the driver was a learner with a P plate passenger and he cut out after the car in front of my brother and didnt see my brother behind the car

and at the time of the accident the person who lives where the accident happend (who just happened to be a nurse) was out the front of her place and my brother pretty much landed on his face at her feet and he was consious the the entire time

Posting on behalf of Trev, who's down at brissie with his brother at the moment. On tuesday things were looking good for Darryl, the doctors had taken him off the sedatives over the weekend and put him on a dialysis machine to pull out the rest of the drugs and slowly wake Darryl up, which all going well would be have been this weekend at the latest.

Received a text from Trev around 5:50pm telling me that Darryl has severe swelling on the brain.

So Trev shot down there to be with him.

The last text i received from Trev at 9:30pm - there hasn't been much change :sob:

Haven't heard from Trev this morning (no news is good news ?)

So, yeah, we're hoping to get a text from Trev saying things are back on the up again for Darryl and not a phone call.

Cheers guys, i just passed the messages on.

The last i heard, which was around 10am, was that nothings changed. Which, i guess, is a good thing, yeah.

ok guys i have an update for you in regards to my brother

the doctors have put him back on dialysis and it turned out he was having a bad reaction to the dialysis mixture that they were using first so they have changed the mixture and things are starting to look up

and his 12 year old daughter (who he hasnt seen for over a year) arrived in brisbane today and went to visit him with her mother so that was another good thing for him

just found out he hasn't seen her for about 2.5 years

caught up with trev today, had a good chat.

and i still remember what my motorbike instrutor told me, way back when:

"Assume they are all out to getcha"

but yeah due to this type of horrible accidents and friends close over the years losing their lives on the 2 wheelers, i will never ride another on the road..

Yeah unfortunately even the best riders encounter bad drivers occasionally.....

Everyone is a bad driver in Sunnybank...
