BlueKsev Posted June 24, 2012 Report Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) 4AGE O2 sensors aren't cheap hey... :/ anyone recommend anywhere i can find one under $100?? Also, if anyone sees this who has/ knows about a smallport 4age, how many wires have you got coming off your O2 sensor on the exhaust?? Iv looked around but am getting mixed information... its either 1 wire or 4 anyway. I don't have much money lying around atm hah, going to be interesting getting this motor running... full new custom exhaust is my main concern  Edit: It turns out its one wire, i think its only 20v's and 4agze's that have 4. Also, i stole an O2 sensor of a mazda 929 cheers Edited June 25, 2012 by BlueKsev Quote

B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 So you can get done for having no H pattern on your gear stick knob. I have to say that is the most retarded thing I have ever heard. Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 Yeah or you need a sticker near the shifter showing what pattern/etc. What happens if someone hops in your car and puts in reverse instead of first( in the case of cars with reverse at the top left). Just a precaution I guess makes sense in case someone has to drive your car in an emergency. Quote
Willis Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 Well retarded. It's not hard to work out...And the euro top left thing normally requires you to lift or push the gearknob up or down etc before you can select reverse. Quote
towe001 Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 The very first gearbox that springs to mind where reverse is, would be the Datsun 180B SSS. Reverse is slightly dog-legged to the left where first normal is R 2 4 1 3 5 More of a racing box when you get down and think about it - how often would reverse and first be used. Quote

Ahh dogleg boxes....always reminds me of the 190E Cossie Merc, anyone remember the episode of Top Gear where May buys one (as part of the "sports sedans for under 5k that you can take to track days) and keeps hitting reverse at traffic lights... ke70dave Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) hmm its a bit retarded the H pattern requirement/law/fine. but you can see where they are coming from, someone needs to drive your car in an emergency, and they get all confused because they driven a car where the gears are in a different spot. try to keep it standard. There are even accounts where people have been done because the sticker isnt on top of the gearstick, which is rubbish as lots of cars have the H pattern stamped on the console somewhere, ie the s15. but i suspect there is mroe to these internet stories than what is usually given. B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 I can understand it, and its fair. But actually getting defected for it, its worse than that guy who got done for indicators flashing too fast. Quote
ke70dave Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 I think the problem is, if they don't have a fine or some sort of deterent, knowone will abide by the laws. "hi you need H pattern on your gearstick, but we arent going to give you a defect for it, as thats a waste of everyones time, be a good boy and go and get one in your own time" Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 Its the kind of obscure rule that I bet hardly anyone knows about, apart from the 3 cops who do and constantly defect people for it. Quote
towe001 Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 Its the kind of obscure rule that I bet hardly anyone knows about :hmm: I might have to pull my flagman out of the closet and take my steam engine for a run. Hopefully the local plod doesn't catch me reversing out of the driveway, since its the only way i can get the horseless carriage off my property. And i'll have to remember to keep the wireless down otherwise i could be done for political advertising even knowning that i'll be blasting out Fleetwood Mac  :dancetall: There's another one that deals with vehicles having to travel at walking pace (or something) around horses so not to spook them.
