there are heaps of "someone did this somewhere" posts if you google threads like this. until i see a video, or a proper scientific test, i refuse to believe anyone has actually done the experiment. if it's on the internet, it must be true :)

 

i still think the plane can fly tho :)

i don't know anymore, rob presents a good argument for the former. and he is the aircraft engineer here. if we were as smart as him, we'd be fixing the planes for virgin instead of sitting here arguing on the internet :)

but if you're saying the conveyor belt is just a lauchpad, then no, it will not fly as the belt will rip the wings off

pilot gives it gas, plane starts to move, instantly the belt starts to move...

 

then the brains of all watchign explode as they can't comprehend what they are seeing!

the plane must be a woman, because a) its expensive as all f@$k and b) it is stubborn and wont move

 

I personally think the plane is a hoochy mumma because its so big it has to live in a hanger, and weighs 180 tonnes

Argh, this enormous woman will devour us all!

Solution - lock the breaks and fire up the turbine - the conveyor will roll forward with the wheels locked and the thrust caused by the turbine will creat enough speed to generate lift

it will fly dammit! just leave it at that!!!

big plane engine thingys push themselves against the air, air gives resistance, plane moves forward.

wheels spin faster than normal, no other effect.
