Alright guys..

I finally sorted my top hat issue. The main thing was i couldn't get it all to fit with the factory strut top, and use enough thread of the nut to reach the locking part.

So i cut down a piece of the top hat to drop the whole thing down nearly 10mm

Then machined the top spring hat

Anyway.

This kent has been fighting me the whole way. Nothing coming undone, A spanner spapping and ending up in my leg..

Anyway, i got it all mocked up, (still on ke10 balljoints) and lowered it down, and saw this.. FML

Insane amount of track, positive camber, and it looked no lower?

The issue was..

I still had the leaf spring in the front at this stage, and it stopped it from going lower.. DANG.

So this is it..

This is how it'll sit for now.. Lower once new tires but.. I'm happyish.. It still has a fck load of track.. and positive camber, but i'm going to put my camber tops in wednesday and wind some negative camber on it which will sort a little of the track problem as well..

Doesn't look that low because where it's sitting but trust me.. It's low haha

Looks good.... lol

Dude you really have to get rid of that KE10 junk and just swap to a Ke20 cross member and 86 struts. You are wasting your time with the 10 stuff. If you don't believe me, Ask Luke ( DriftFreak )... it's heaps better.

It doesn't look that low at all, What's the cross member height etc?

Positive camber is the main reason to swap to 86 gear.

For now i really can't be farked..

I wanted an option i could throw together on a stock front end. I have the gear to go ke70 rack and pinion in a spare front cut but for now it's not needed..

I'm not sure with how it's sitting dude, but i wound the coilovers to 4" lower than the factory struts before i put them in..

And i can go an inch lower with lower profile tires.. But i want to keep it sensible as it gets driven pretty much daily

Stock wheels? as in ke10 ones or ke70?

These're the only wheels i've had on it, i haven't bolted it together properly yet, and it's still got stock balljoints ahah

I'll do my camber tops tomorrow and hopefully have one side completed by wednesday (Weather permitting)

So not quite what we wanted but turned out as expected.

You'll sort it out, time to get to work mate! Really want to see how it sits when you're done tinkering.

:D

Yeah mate, a lot more fcking around that i'd intended.. Stubborn bolts, Not having the right gear for the job..

From here i'll hopefully have my cambertops drilled tomorrow, and get atleast the passenger side fully done wednesday. Weathers looking shite but i'll ride it out..

I hate that front tire size. Makes the whole car look shit..

I'm all the way down on the sleeve kit where it sits right now.. So when i change tires i might have to get my coilover springs compressed, or move the sleeve kit down 2 inch or so

Well.. The old man cracked the shits about me having it where it was, so it's got stock gear back in it..

So now i'm going to buy some sw20 Kyb Agx shocks, 40mm rca's, 165/55 Federals and a 22mm whiteline swaybar.

Also going to get my camber plates sorted, and also get the offset on my wheels changed..

As they sit they're a 13x7 -25 which sits roughly 60mm outside my guards, with the positive camber.

Going to take them to a 13x7 -5 or 0 and wind the camber in, then with the new tires they should JUST be inside the guards..

But anyway, Parts buying time!
