Jono Posted September 3, 2006 Author Report Posted September 3, 2006 (edited) yeah, it is bloody slanted. I massaged my transmission tunnel a fair bit but yes, i could lift the rear of the gearbox to level it out. **they are home made mounts copied from mounts proven to work in two other cars ** The whole crank, gearbox and tailshaft are parallel and the sump clears the swaybar (with a bit of assistance from mr. hammer) When its all driving nicely i may look at getting my mounts modified to allow it to sit 40mm lower but then the tailshaft will slant more at the uni-joint. Jono Posted September 12, 2006 Author Report Posted September 12, 2006 (edited) Car went in for haltech installation on saturday. I've been convinced to get dual circuit brakes on the car. The missus is stoked. A series 6 rx7 brake master cylinder has been modified to work with remote reservoirs. Also getting an adjustable brake bias control. Edited September 12, 2006 by JC807 Quote
PMP020 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 how long until this thing is busting ringys? done some good work here, i like it, well done. keep us posted, i like pictures cheers scott Quote
Jono Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 car is running, still in shop though. it needs a GZE crank angle sensor or they can run a disc on pulley and a hall effect pick up. sounds pretty beasty, can't wait to drive it. I'd like to think it will be ready next week. Quote
beerhead Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 (edited) Hey mate, nice work there! That 20's gonna fly, geez it's tight against the wall hey. From my research the GZE cas and the 100kw dizzy have the same internals. If it's running with the dizzy pickups you can always make a custom cover to close it up. I hope it's not suffering from weak signal at high rev's syndrome, that's a pain in the ass, I've even heard of some ecu's suffering from it with a GZE cas :D Edited September 21, 2006 by beerhead Quote
LINDSAY Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 hey man , it's looking good mate , i just read through the whole thread and sounds like your a bit ahead of mine , i'll have to get my own thread going for my beast soon , got plenty of pic's now . How did the S6 RX7 master cylinder go ? was there enough clearence with the manifold/plenum ? i'm very interested to know , i've still got the stock single circut M/Cyl and i think your right , a single circut ain't gonna do the job . Cheers , Lindsay Quote
Jono Posted September 27, 2006 Author Report Posted September 27, 2006 the rx7 brake master cylinder was modified by Tweakit to run remote reserviours so as to clear the inlet manifold. I want to get it engineered. Can anyone suggest any engineers who are relaxed and cheap? I just want to get the engine and brakes listed really and not have to pay to get steering wheel, seats, gearbox, crossmember, diff, unleaded filler neck, charcoal canister etc. I have a catalytic converter of a nissan GTS-t. Jono Posted October 12, 2006 Author Report Posted October 12, 2006 got the car back, goes like stink. :y: :) :y: have a few bits and pieces to do now: put my other gauge cluster in, with tacho and make the old cable clutch hole big enough for the speedo cable. get a catch can, the 1.25l bottle doesn't look too good. get some longer wheel studs for the front so i can run the fwd stockers for a while until i get the suspension all sorted out. I have new bushes all round but the shocks and springs are really crap. If i get lowered suspension i may have to get the exhaust redone to go under the diff :( Quote
LINDSAY Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 Nice one Brother , you got it engineered and everything ? looks mad !!! did you end up doing a front brake upgrade ? Quote
Jono Posted December 10, 2006 Author Report Posted December 10, 2006 no still not engineered, i need a catch can arrangement of some sort. I used a VH44 remote brake booster, rx7 m/c with remote reserviours, and ke55 front brakes. Quote
HIGH ROLLER Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Sweet ride brother, i like your fuel setup in the boot... Hoping mine will be as clean as this... KEEP ROLLIN!! Quote
shane-o Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Mad!! Now lets see some videos of skids thanks :D Great thread man, you're giving me all sorts of terrible, terrible ideas about my KE20  Quote
Jono Posted July 17, 2007 Author Report Posted July 17, 2007 just have to make a shield around the fuel setup and the engineer's report is mine! Quote
Jono Posted August 20, 2007 Author Report Posted August 20, 2007 finally all engineered and legal. Quote
